Building a new home is not for the faint of heart, especially in Montana. Kelcey and Tawnya provided guidance, suggestions and needed information to help us in this major investment from start to finish. Building on the mountain requires additional knowledge because of extreme weather. They have it! Tawnya and Kelcey are much more than just general contractors. Although they routinely work with interior designers, they negated the necessity for us to hire one. Tawnya was all we needed. She took the time and effort to make multiple trips with us to choose tile, granite, flooring, etc, always providing her recommendations when asked. Kelcey is extremely innovative which allowed us to make the house unique in it's build, while tying everything seamlessly together. Examples include the fireplace wall (floor to high ceiling) and using fragments of the huge overhead exterior beams to showcase in the powder room. Their talents are immense, while still keeping an eye on budget and costs. Kelcey and Tawnya are personable and they care. We were always kept abreast of progress, changes, and status with monthly reports. Subcontractors utilized by them were first rate. Bear Mountain also stepped up in other ways that was over and above the norm. When we had an offer to purchase our townhome, there were a few remediations necessary to close the sale. They provided subcontractors during Montana's hectic summer months to address all issues, at a time when trying to secure these type of people through our own efforts would have been impossible in the timeframe the buyers of the townhome wanted. They ensured we closed the sale so we could focus on our new home. In conclusion, I heartily recommend Bear Mountain Builders, as they provide value and ingenuity throughout the entire process. And most importantly, they are there for their clients to assist with any issues that might arise during the first year from a new build. Thoughtful, innovative...the best!!

In 2017, Bear Mountain Builders began construction on our home in Whitefish, Montana. Over the years, we have returned to vacation in Montana on an almost annual basis and decided that this is where we wanted to retire. We purchased a beautiful mountain lot overlooking the Flathead valley and set out to find someone to help us realize our dream. We wanted to build the right house for the location and it needed to fit our lifestyle. We were sensitive to cost and since we lived in another state, we needed someone that could work with us long distance and had the experience to build on the mountain. From the very beginning, they proved to be honest, sincere, and in tune with our needs and concerns. They handled the unforeseeable issues that arose with our particular lot and helped us navigate the endless decisions that come with building a house. This included advise on how to maximize the attributes of the lot, where we could spend our money to have the most positive impact, and what colors and materials balanced our tastes. Throughout the process, they did a fantastic job at discerning matters that would be important to us, made adjustments based on our needs, all the while helping us to control our costs. We feel like we just built a house with some friends and we can truly say that we could not have hoped for a better experience. The result is a beautiful mountain home that our entire family loves and enjoys and will for many, many years to come.

We chose Bear Mountain Builders in the summer of 2012 for our new home project. Our home design is modern (rare for the area) and Bear Mountain had experience but also a bunch of ideas that complimented ours before and during the project. We utilized Bear Mountain for a lot of details we didn't have time to finish with the architect on the front end. They designed and built floating staircase, custom hand rails, custom steel on fireplace, custom steel on main hallway ceiling and more. This is our third house we have built, and by far our favorite!
