When we chose to move from Stamford, CT to Lewes, Delaware and searched but could not find the right house for us (we are artists and needed multiple studio spaces) we did not think that building a custom home was practical when we lived so far away. But frustrated with our search and as a shot in the dark, we contacted the first company that came up on a web search, The Lewes Building Company. We spoke with John Leebel, and learned of his company's level of care and experience and discovered that the one house we had seen and loved (it just needed one more studio space!) during our search in Lewes was one that The Lewes Building Company had built. We were excited to realize that constructing a custom home with him and his company was a possibility. We met with John and Kathleen Leebel and explored home designs with them. Again, their knowledge and easy to work with natures removed all concerns in reference to building our custom home from afar. We knew that they would build our home while we are remote with the same care and budget management as if it were their own home. Now, several months later, the framing of our house is complete and progress on the interior (HVAC, Electric, Plumbing) has begun and we can safely and with confidence say that not only has The Lewes Building Company met our expectations, they have exceeded them from all aspects - choosing the right home style, holding our hands through the architectural design process, communication, creativity, problem solving, project management, vendor selection and more. Thank you John, Kathleen, Justin and Jeff!! We are so looking forward to our move in date.

Lewes Building Company built our home in 2012. The home is beautifully finished and people stop to take pictures of it all the time. They are one of the only true custom builders in the area and have built some of the most beautiful homes in our neighborhood.

We are new to Delaware and purchased a home built by The Lewes Building Company in December of 2011, moving in the following June. We are very happy with our home and daily are pleased with the excellent workmanship of this builder. The design and room layout is pleasing to the eye and very functional in use. When we were finished with the basic negotiations, we were to develop a "punch list" of things that needed fixing or still to be finished. There were only two items on the list, reflecting the thoroughness of this builder. Later when we had questions or problems that weren't earlier apparent, their responses were quick and items fixed promptly. This is a responsive and professional company and we can recommend them without reservations.

Due to their organization and direct communication we stayed on schedule and were always informed about each stage. They have a strong commitment to provide quality work and customer satisfaction.
