This was the second project that Worthington & Shagen completed for our home. This project was a complete kitchen renovation. Every step of the process was completed with every attention to detail. Especially outstanding was the work of the lead carpenter, Darryl and the behind the scenes support provided by Lisa. Chance and Steve are so well versed at every aspect of custom building that they are able to provide the tradesman, cabinet providers, granite providers and many others that were skillfully brought together to provide an unapparelled kitchen that has drawn raves from all who see it!!

In February 2022, we moved into a home built by W&S in 2005. The build quality and attention to detail is beyond anything we have ever seen. The woodwork throughout the house is cabinet-maker grade. Stonework, in and out, is old-school quality. No skimping on any detail: solid wood doors, beautiful hardware, commercial grade kitchen, reclaimed wood floors … Could go on and on. Every day we notice a new beautiful detail. The house looks brand new, despite being 17 years old. Best of all, we needed to add a wine cellar to the house. W&S built one for us in four months. It is better than our three previous cellars, the last one in Napa. Steve Shagen also has tended to various upkeep needs from plumbing to electric. Immediate service on all fronts. Lovely people to work with, from Chance, Steve and Lisa all the way to the folks who cleaned up the job site. This will be our last house, but if we were building another, W&S would build it.

In June of 2019, our 3-year old house was struck by lightning and needed to be demolished and rebuilt. From the beginning Worthington and Shagen were responsive and proactive. It was, therefore, an easy decision to select them to rebuild our house. We were very impressed by their professionalism and expertise. Throughout the process they went the extra mile in addressing every challenge faced including those created by the COVID 19 pandemic. The result is, we have a beautiful house that is superior to the original. The crew assigned to our project were a joy to work with and incredibly helpful. Our questions and concerns were quickly addressed and their concern for our happiness with the final result was evident. After building the same house a second time, we can honestly say that working with Worthington and Shagen is the way homebuilding should be.

We invested in a major house renovation to completely change our house. It involved taking out a wall, moving plumbing and electrical fixtures, a completely new kitchen with new flooring and ceiling and lighting, and complete new design, cabinets and counter tops and appliances. Worthington and Shagen and their team of workers were first class. They took great interest in each stage of our project, from the designing to the actual completion we felt each person on their team treated the project as they would their very own. The degree of excellence with each stage and each aspect of the project contributed to what all our friends and family regard as a stunning improvement. They also gave us a very detailed estimate for the project and came in significantly under cost, and passed all the saving along to us. We hold this company in the highest regard for their professionalism, personal interest, integrity and first class level of skill.

I worked with Worthington & Shagen on a residence that I designed. What sets WS apart from many builders and contractors I work with is their unfaltering involvement on a project from the very beginning in dealing with permitting and the approval process, all the way through to post-completion. Any successful project must have strong collaboration between builder, designer, and owner. This is another area where WS sets themselves apart. I particularly enjoyed the passion their finish carpenters shared with me in fine-tuning the details that set a grand home apart from the ordinary. They were up to any task.
