Twelve years ago, during a full remodel of our home, our designer and contractor installed an elaborate lighting system in our primary shower. Recently, the circuit board that controlled the system failed. Unfortunately, the manufacturer no longer supports that model, and no replacement parts were available on the aftermarket. The only solution anyone could suggest was to tear the shower apart and install an entirely new lighting system — an expensive, time-consuming, and disruptive process. Thankfully, I called Daniel. Within a few hours, he was on-site, diagnosed the problem, and came up with a simple, creative, and cost-effective solution that could be completed the very next day. I can’t recommend him highly enough — he’s talented, responsive, and knows how to solve problems without turning them into expensive projects.

Our kitchen was always dark and non functional with an awkward design and zero storage. Daniel completely reimagined it and solved all the issues that I never thought could be addressed while repurposing many items to keep costs down. He was conscious of our needs and our budget. He did an amazing job and I highly recommend him.

Daniel was absolutely amazing at every phase of the project—from design, to planning, through execution. He creatively utilized the space we had, practically reused what we could to save on costs, and suggested new things we never knew we couldn’t live without. He turned our poorly layed-out, short on storage, kitchen into something completely fresh and new—with more storage space that I ever imagined possible. Dan is the principal . His sense of concept for the project showed throughout the time we were working together. This was reflected in his expansive knowledge base, the resource suggestions he put forth and his ability to pull it all together to present a cohesive look reflecting what I wanted for my landscaping and my home. Along with his professional technical skills, I was particularly impressed with his nuanced approach to the project and his genuine concern for me , as a client which never waivered. I was one of Dan's first projects years ago, to totally redo a loft I had bought in Chicago. Dan's ideas and the result were amazing and went way beyond what I expected, the place became a true show piece (in fact, I believe he still shows the photos from it to this day). I totally loved what it became, and still to this day regret that I only lived there another six months before work opportunity took me elsewhere, I would have loved and intended to be there a long time.

We hired Dan from Dezine Inc to assist with many aspects of our new home. We recently downsized from a large home into a 3,000 square foot townhome. We were reluctant at first because of the long distance - we live outside of Manhattan and Dan is located in Los Angeles. He had shared with us several other long distance projects he had completed so we felt confident he could make this work. His use of technology allowed us to keep a very efficient process throughout the entire job. My wife and I needed help with selecting furniture, rugs, lighting, fabric selection/draperies, paint colors, moldings and more. Dan was intimately involved is the interior layout and design of almost every room in the house. He continually asked all the right questions and carefully listened to ensure we would be happy with the final results. Best of all, my wife and I both work so he was able to streamline the process, and keep us on budget while respecting the timeline we created to turn our house into the home we now love. His creative talents and vision always took the ordinary and made it exceptional. We have worked with other interior designers in the past and we were pleasantly surprised how easy and flexible Daniel was to deal with . We ask a lot of questions and never did he seem to mind. I reached out on very short notice to Dezine to take measurements at an investment property we were under contract to buy. Daniel rose to the occasion and executed and provided helpful insights. I live in West LA in what my friend calls a "typical California apartment", vaulted ceilings and lots of sun. Unfortunately, I was at my wits end trying to update my décor from blah to inspired. I dreaded going into my second bedroom. I talked with Dan on the phone and was impressed by his intelligence and charm. I decided to hire him for a consultation. Well, yesterday Dan came to my apartment. As we talked he was able to pull from the air (like magic) my desired style. His vision for my apartment is beyond amazing, and I can't wait to see the plans and then implement them. I will look forward to coming home and to actually entertaining.

When I first talked with Dan, I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted or needed but I knew it was time to tackle my house project head on. Dan worked to find solutions for a 75+ year old house that had previously been handled by a DIY-er (with horrid taste and no skill in repairs). From the initial design concepts thru the demo and (re)building phase Dan has consistently provided answers that are stunningly beautiful, energy efficient and cost effective. He has treated my home project as his would his own home and it shows in the level of professionalism and the impeccable quality of his work.

We hired Dan to help us with design elements on the construction of our Carport. Originally we just hired him to help us with a few color and material choices but he was so great and we sunk up so well with his sensibility that we soon asked him to do extensive design work on the whole project. Dan's attention to detail, work ethic and aesthetic sense along with his sense of humor and all around good attitude make him a wonderful person to work with.

Dan heard my ideas for use of my new home, and then was brilliant and brainstorming space use. He then helped me shop to find furniture, wall treatments, etc., which suited my taste perfectly, and cultivated the comfortable and pleasant space I wanted. He was always accessible and focused on helping me make a great space in my own style rather than trying to impose his own, suiting my budget.

Dan and his crew have been amazing. My wife and I decided to change our landscaping to drought resistant. We were worried because most of the landscaping we were seeing we did not like. It felt like someone just threw some rocks down and a couple of cactus's. When we meet with Dan not only did he come up with a beautiful design he really helped us understand what was possible for your yard. He was able to create something spectacular on our very modest budget. Dan has been there every step of the way through this process to answer questions, Give moral support and to check in on us. We hired a design professional professional and in our opinion we got the best. The surprise is we also got a friend and professional we can trust. Dan and the crew at DEZINE& went out of their way to discover all of our design requirements and then incorporate our preferences into an overall plan. When budget would not allow us to do everything we wanted, they worked closely with the contractor to re-tool the design on the fly without losing sight of the overall goal. The end result is a design that we appreciate and love to work in more each day that we spend here. I plan to use DEZINE& again for other projects.

Last year I decided that my green lawn needed to be replaced with a water-wise alternative. Dan had just completed my neighbor's front yard and I asked him to do mine as well. Now that it is complete, it looks totally different from my neighbor's. This is of course because my neighbor and I have different taste. For her, he designed a water-wise front yard that is romantic and rustic, whereas for me, he created something contemporary and geometric. Same designer, two very different designs. It looks great, and passers-by have complimented me on the design on more than one occasion. Dan really listened to my needs and preferences, and ran the operation perfectly.

Many of my clients require a complete luxury lifestyle designer to encompass not only the interiors, but also their landscaping and interior plants. It is always a pleasure to collaborate with Dezine&. They are knowledgable about the various options we have to create a signature look for each client. Many of my clients appreciate their thoughtfulness in regards to plant selections in the Southern California climate, as well as this time of drought. I've relied on DEZINE for a number of projects, ranging from redesign of a picture window in my living room to overseeing a full-scale exterior paint job. The services I've been rendered have been impeccably professional and thrillingly creative -- and, not for nothing, extremely patient as well when I've been indecisive or just too busy to pursue certain things with focus. I had just moved into a new loft in Downtown LA. I wanted something different and Dan designed a custom sectional to fit perfectly in my space. Dan specializes in eco-friendly products and design. What started out to be a simple bathroom "update" is quickly becoming an entire loft renovation! Daniel provided drawings at the beginning - and they absolutely blew me away. I live in a downtown loft, with the typical storage problems - that are no longer in existence. He added functionality to a design that was more than I could have imagined. To top it off, he managed the project and brought it in on time, within budget (it only went higher because I requested it!) and with a result that far far far surpassed anything I could have hoped for. In fact, it's motivated me to work with him on the rest of the loft!

I have used DEZINE multiple times. The most recent extensive project was in September 2009, where they oversaw a project with multiple levels and subcontractors - landscaping, interior and exterior painting, cleaning, screening, and other elements. In the past DEZINE has worked on similar projects as well as extensive interior design work, including creating and purchasing extensive furniture purchases. The work has always been conscientious, creative and good value for the money. Communication skills and promptness have been particularly welcome.

Dan worked closely with us to understand what we wanted our home to feel and look like, he really got us. He also was super creative and give us great options that would work within different budgets. Everyone who comes into our home comments on the unique style and touches - a mixture of classic and modern, just the right blend of top-end and creative elements to feel special and warm familiar standards to feel comfortable. He really knows how to make it all work. I also vouch for his personal taste and straight up way of doing business. He was thoughtful and thorough on everything. There are a million small touches that I notice on a regular basis even years after the project is finished. And others that still get guests attention when ever they stop by.

I hired DEZINE& for my home renovation in California. It was a great "bones" of a house that needed a new lift on life. We did everything from changing the pitch of the roof to installing new floors and everything in between.
