Mark Schryver is the ultimate professional. My husband and I bought a spectacular duplex penthouse in Manhattan, and although we love to decorate and shop, we had no vision for its unique appearance. Mark had worked on a small project for me before, and I called on him again. He provided the vision, style, quality, pricing - and on top of that, is a true joy to partner with. No detail escapes his attention. We moved in right on time and I think of him each day as I enjoy the stunning yet understated surroundings, and how much of Mark's taste and wisdom went into creating our happy home.

Working with Mark and Schryver Design was everything we hoped it would be. From the initial meeting to the final installation, Mark understood what we wanted and executed perfectly. He helped us make sure everything about our gut renovation was well though-out, functional and beautiful -- from the initial plans, through construction to the final interior decorations. I have recommend Mark to others since, and not only has he been hired for the jobs, but he continues to perform for those clients at the same impeccable level. Mark Schryver was recommended to me by a very dear friend who had worked with him for years on several projects. I met with Mark and found him not only extremely knowledgeable, but also willing to listen. He said he was happy to incorporate a few of my favorite pieces into the new design and that sealed the deal! The scope of the project was to re-configure and open a small eating area adjacent to the kitchen and living room and to redo the kitchen. The project went so well we added redecorating the living as well.. We used a contractor that Mark had worked with previously. The project went longer than expected and things came up that added to our budget, but we are extremely happy with the results. Mark was always professional, respectful of our budget and was a skillful negotiator/liaison with the trades and contractor. ****We ran into a problem with a custom pocket door almost two years after installation. The project was long finished. Mark got the carpenter back and he fixed the problem. Almost two years after the fact. I would use Mark Schryver again any time.

We hired Mark Schryver to help us design and decorate our Brooklyn brownstone. As first-time home buyers and pregnant with our first child, we were utterly overwhelmed by the prospect of decorating an entire house, no less in the few short months before our son was born. Mark completely delivered and created a home we were proud of. From painting to fabric choices, Mark always provided several beautiful options to us. He was incredibly professional at all times, and frankly, was a pleasure to be around. When we moved across the country years later, Mark even agreed to help us map out where to put our furniture in our new home. In short, he makes a daunting endeavor feel seamless and easy, and you won't be disappointed by the final product!

I hired Mark Schryver to design from scratch a bathroom in an unusual attic space in a beach house in East Hampton. The design that Mark came up with was more beautiful than any expectations I had. He used the space creatively, came up with solutions to problems I didn't know I had, found a contractor for me and stayed within budget. The project expanded to include painting the whole house - with a new color palette - and installing a video and electronic system with another person recommended by Mark. He is not only "full-service" and very creative; Mark is also a business man with appreciation for a budget and time.

I hired Mark in 2012 to transform my apartment from a mishmash of stuff to a home that was comfortable yet stylish. I had a clear strategy going into the project but did not know how to start. I wanted to transform the boxy rooms into a series of warm and inviting living areas. While I knew I liked a contemporary style, I could not find any examples that really resonated with what I was looking for. Mark asked the right questions to help me think through and then articulate the parameters of what I was looking for including; my budget, my priorities, and the style elements I liked etc… He then found the right combination of practical, comfortable, stylish and eye-popping items that fit my style. All pulled together with an impeccable eye for color. Mark also worked around my crazy work hours and demands. This was incredibly valuable to me throughout the process. In the end I learned that as a client you can’t abdicate ownership of the project – it is your home after all. But the right decorating partner, like Mark, can make your home the best reflection of you.

We have used Mark Schryver of Schryver Designs twice in the last four years in two major renovations in Manhattan, as well as using him to refresh our Hamptons home. Both renovations involved major work, floor plan changes as well as kitchens and baths. Mark was both our designer and our project manager coordinating all work among architect, contractor and subcontractors, allowing for a stress free renovation for us. We found Mark to consistently deliver as promised. He is creative and in touch with current trends while ensuring timelessness to his decors so they do not age when the trends change. He has a great sense of color and texture, designed built-ins and some custom furniture for us, and worked well in both contemporary décor in the city, and traditional décor in the Hamptons. Importantly, Mark brings a sense of calm to a stressful situation and works very hard to please his clients. We would recommend his firm without reservation. He is terrific.

Mark designed 3 bathrooms and furnished/updated 2 bedrooms for us. He oversaw the contractor for the entire process. We were working under a very constrained time frame and he brought everything together to start on time and move it along as quickly as possible. Under his recommendation, we used a contractor he had worked with in the past, which ended up being a smart decision. We are very happy with how everything turned out and are now using him to help decorate another space. He was always on top of what was going on, he was responsive and pro-active, qualities that are so important in a project like this but surprisingly hard to find. I recommend Mark wholeheartedly without reservation!

mark redid a bedroom for me -- it's airy and light, carpet, shoe and handbag closet, a delight to be in and very relaxing -- white and yellow -- he also redid my den --- more seating, better music- tv etc. his subcontractors-= painters, electricians, carpenters are top notch

A review of this kind is very difficult, especially when trying to describe the person in whom you placed your trust to undertake a “down to the studs” renovation in East Hampton. Here is a bullet point list of what we considered to be the critical aspects of our experience: •It began with a brilliant visualization the whole project, where Mark had to integrate and combine both the practical needs and personal esthetic of my wife and I. •Mark established a wonderful relationship with the architect and contractor(s) on day one, and maintained that positive environment throughout the entire project truly minimizing friction and maximizing efficiency. •Somehow, incredibly, this man remained completely on top of the zillion details (major and minor), never losing sight of the timing of anything. •He provided us a realistic budget at the outset, and never strayed from it - remarkable. Also, and this is really a kind of genius, Mark always found ways to get us the most “bang for the buck” which may seem a little trite on the surface, but was greatly appreciated by us because the result of this practice frequently propped the budget doors open a little wider. •Over the course of the project we came to trust Mark more and more, frequently allowing him to nudge us outside our “comfort zone” when he felt that was necessary, because he hit a winner we could not have visualized ourselves each and every time. In Summary: Mark hit it out of the park creating our dream environment, within budget, and on time. Nothing short of incredible, he imagined and created a space that we both love, and love to live in. We recommend him with the highest possible praise.
