I absolutely loved working with Shelbie to turn our 100 year old house into a beautiful home. It’s an intimate process and I feel like our family’s taste, vibes, and the practicalities of our lifestyle all were considered and brought to life in the process. The brass tax: we had a lot to do. From bringing some rooms down to the studs, to designing custom built ins, shifting windows and doors, and using bespoke and high end finishes - Shelbie led the way, communicated effectively with our construction partners and subs, and kept us on time and on budget. Shelbie was able to help us find solves for where we wanted to invest in our dream finishes and furniture, as well as more affordable solves where we didn’t (but weren’t willing to compromise on style). You can see the finished product in Domino - but we are so proud of the project and couldn’t recommend Shelbie Cox Studios enough.

Shelbie played a key part in my basement remodel, a project I'd long procrastinated. Starting from a raw dirt basement that had been accumulating our family's cast-off furniture for years felt a bit daunting. But Shelbie's expertise made figuring out the design and building logistics so much more approachable. She was able to take our contractor's clunky floor plan and improve upon it tremendously, ensuring that access points, stairs, and functionality of the space all flowed well together. She's great at helping organize priorities and goals, and providing options for consideration – like whether I'd want to add a utility sink to my basement to increase value in a future sale. Through her consultation, the anxiety of how to go about my remodeling investment dissipated and I was able to act with more confidence and clarity. Our storage space looks clean and well-structured, and will be a great use to my family for years to come.
