Susan Jay is an talented designer, decorator who takes the time to get to know her clients. One of the many reasons that I hired Susan during our six month kitchen and bath renovation and whole house redesign was to help us stay sane and married. My husband and I have very different styles and we practically never agree on both design and decorating decisions. He is very hard to please. (Others have tried unsuccessfully.) Susan did an outstanding job, first helping with the design of both our gut renovation of a kitchen and bath and then with a new color palette, all new electrical lighting, window treatments and more. All the hundreds of decisions needed to be eco-friendly and also accommodate my chemical sensitivities and our budget. Not only was she kind, and supportive during this stressful process of renovating during a pandemic, but she brought us both design and decorating ideas that we could agree on. And when there was a problem, she was always available with good problem solving solutions. We are now enjoying our newly renovated home thanks to Susan and her team.

Susan Jay was hired by me to remodel my entire large home. We are still in the process of the interior redesign and are about 1/3 finished. Susan's creativity and planning have been beyond my expectations. I am always excited to see what she comes up with! Her contractors have been excellent and she has worked extremely well with my contractors as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a high quality interior designer!

We have worked with Susan Jay Design on several projects over the years. Susan has a great sense of space planning when re-designing existing areas. She listens to the customer's needs, is responsive and comes to all meetings prepared with drawings, materials and an open mind to honing in on the perfect solution, always keeping the client's desires and budget in mind.

Susan Jay is the absolute professional, in every way! Her creativity and spacial planning is spectacular and her ability to tailor the design to each individual client is amazing - there is no style fits all rule with her. Susan is helping design a major remodel of a 6,000 sq. ft. home we bought - from moving walls and rearranging our kitchen; building a wine cellar to furnishing every single room in the house. I've worked with her on other home projects for over 15 years now, but this project is very time intensive and extremely detailed and she makes every outing and every phone call a joy!

Susan and Maggie were fantastic. They have great taste, but didn’t impose their tastes on me. Instead, they worked with me to find my own style, helped me to narrow my choices when I was overwhelmed with different options, and made decisions when I became stuck. I actually discovered Susan Jay through houzz and cannot begin to say enough positive things about her work. She has elevated my ideas of what I wanted to do with my house, as well as bringing creative ideas I could never have imagined. Plus, she manages to consistently discover ways in which I can save on furniture purchases, by rehabbing and using old materials, as well as effective space planning that makes each room come alive. Susan, along with her incredibly talented assistant Maggie, arrive on the scene as a team-- prepared to make the process of creative discovery unique, productive... and fun! Working with Susan Jay Design has turned out to be the best decision I've made since the purchase of my new home.

I hired Susan Jay back in 2012 to assist with the design/building/decorating of our new home, from the ground up. What drew me to her was that every room she designs, regardless of style, is classy, unique, comfortable, and functional. Although many of the projects in her gallery featured finishes I would not have chosen for myself personally, every design was beautifully appointed and very appealing. It all just worked. To me- that is the sign of a true artist. Susan consulted with our contractor and architect to devise the ideal room layout and electrical plan. She then began working with me on finishes. Together, over the course of a year and a half, we did the kitchen (spectacular), 6 bathrooms, dining room, wet bar and 6 bedrooms. She also helped with the selection of flooring throughout (stunning 5" plank maple), crown moulding/wainscoting, and all paint colors. We have been living in the house now for about 8 months and have finally entered our final phase . . . the furnishings. Susan's taste is impeccable and she always keeps our budget in mind. So far everything she has chosen for our home looks like it has been with us forever- timeless pieces that fit perfectly into our lifestyle. She has endless resources and can literally locate the needle in the haystack. She is patient and thoughtful, always putting the needs of her client first. She is very easy to work with and has a calming, laid-back demeanor that puts everyone at ease. And best of all, Susan listens when clients talk, which translates into personal design results that surpass expectation. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Susan Jay. She is kind, smart, funny, and ridiculously talented. But what truly separates her from the rest is the passion she puts into her projects. Anyone fortunate enough to work with her will see it. Susan is a professional of the highest grade and I absolutely recommend her!!

I worked with Susan Jay Design to photograph one of her projects in Los Angeles - a beautiful residence in the hills of Brentwood with views over the Getty Center and West LA. Susan and her assistant, Maggie, were incredibly helpful and understanding throughout the entire process from conception to delivery of files. I have nothing but good things to say about their professionalism, kindness, and of course the passion for their work. They really let me take some of my ideas and run with them and added their input where necessary, which made for a great collaborative project.
