It was a true pleasure to have found Susan to help me refresh my home. She listened carefully to my ideas and asked intelligent questions that helped me define what I wanted from the project. Then she set about pulling together the bits and pieces that we refined until the result is a home I am thrilled to live in and share with friends and family.

I had the pleasure of working with Susan during the renovation of my den. She turned this confining rustic room into the clean sophisticated space I was looking for. Susan has an incredible eye for fabrics and color. Her attention to detail coupled with creativity and professionalism is a winning combination. She replaced my brick fireplace with a gorgeous tile surround. Found the perfect rug and coffee table and was able to use some of my existing furniture to help me keep down costs. She is very knowledgeable and highly respected by all the other trade professionals we used. She is sensitive to the needs of her individual clients and cares about each and every project. She listens to what you want and is able to actualize your ideas while incorporating her amazing sense of design. Susan is respectful of her clients ideas and timeline. She replies promptly and "hits the ground running" when she starts a project. In the first week we were already looking at fabrics. She doesn't waste time or money and I would trust her with any project in my home.

Susan Shulman has designed and successfully managed many projects for my husband and me for more than 20 years. This has included selecting furniture, carpeting, wallpaper, designing and making custom drapes, and complete remodeling of two bathrooms. She has a great sense of color and how to select fabrics, wall paper and paint that work together. She has managed complicated projects and has hired many different competent crafts persons to do the work. Her most recent project was to help us select couch and reclining chairs for our living room . She also found an excellent and reasonably priced person to recover a rocking chair, sleep sofa and a bench so that we did not have to replace them. She communicates well with us and meets deadlines.

After purchasing our first house, my fiancée and I relied on Susan to transform it into a home. Approximately, 15 years later upon moving back to The City, I had an entirely different vision – from family-oriented, suburban -- to a more urban, contemporary with a bit of old-charm chic. Once again, Susan changed the downtown condo into a home. This attests to Susan’s ability to work with different and evolving tastes/styles. I tend to start with my foundation and build from that. She immediately identified, ordered, and installed the most lovely, diaphanous window treatments that allowed for us to enjoy our gorgeous city views. Additionally, she identified the perfect color for the walls that tied back to our strategy and lighting that flatters all of my guests and yet practical for day-to-day functioning (bworking out of my home 60 percent of the time, this is critical). Once the foundation was complete, not only did she help to downsize by keeping the most precious, practical, and appropriate pieces, but she also presented me with some beautiful pieces to complement many that I saved from the Newton home. This was facilitated by her unique ability to provide drawings, computer-aided design software or scaled models so that we could see her ideas. She created the desired look, obtained approval, and everything worked like a well-oiled machine. Additionally, but just as importantly, I had some cherished heirlooms. She had these all restored in parallel to furnishing my home. Susan is a delight to work with and someone I feel comfortable having in my home. She has a keen eye, unique ideas, efficient, and knowledgeable of all design styles, colors, and fabrics, and even appliances. She is connected and regardless of whether you are ordering a new bed, working on antique restoration, placing artwork, purchasing new furniture or appliances, everything works harmoniously and gets done on time and within budget.

Susan is very professional and has a wonderful eye for color and design. All her vendors are the best and very professional. Susan brings knowledge and great wisdom to any project.
