Jonna is an amazing designer! She designed our basement and we couldn’t have done it without her. She transformed the space in ways we couldn’t have seen or done on our own. She will work with whatever vision or ideas you have and then bring in different design elements to create the space you dream of. She incorporated many special and unique family elements to our space. Definitely nothing “cookie cutter” or generic. She worked closely with us and our contractor to create an authentic looking Irish pub and a beautiful playroom for our kids including a mural on the wall.

Jonna is wonderful to work with! My playroom was a mess and I had no idea what to do with it! She listened to my concerns, ideas, thoughts! We worked together well on what kind of room I wanted my boys to have. The last year has been tough because of the pandemic and she turn the playroom into functional remote learning/ the boys own room! Its comfortable and colorful! We love it!

Jonna is a talented and inspirational professional that is also a true joy to be around. She creatively transformed the main rooms of our house into a warm and functional home. The name "uncommon nest" is perfect because she can tailor her work to each clients interests, personality and budget.

Jonna Mulqueen is exceptionally talented. I hired her to design my entire home which was built in the last year. By looking at my inspiration pictures and spending time with me, she created a beautiful home full of rooms that I love. I could not have a favorite, as they are all perfect. The colors and design flows from room to room in this 5500 square foot house. Jonna has a wide range of contacts in every need that there was for my home. She kept to my style, while offering areas and suggestions to explore my creative side. In all, there were 4 bedrooms, two game rooms, sitting room, dining room, family room, 8 bathrooms, and outside patio. While a project so large might seem completely overwhelming on my own, my experience with Jonna was satisfying, fun and exciting. I am eternally grateful that I wake up every day to this home!

'Uncommon nest' is the perfect description of the vision and creativity that Jonna has and uses with such attention to details. I was very impressed in our first project together with her choices of finishes and the combination of them. Very bold, yet appropriate for the desired result. Who wants a common nest? Our room was previously a collection of things my husband I each had when we got married, as well as few hand me downs from family members. Jonna from Uncommon Nest Interiors helped me turn it into a place we could call our own. She assisted with practical things - like a sliding barn door between the bedroom and bathroom - as well as overall style. She pushed me to think outside the box - (mine is matchy-matchy and all neutral colors) and see that usability, like our new chairs in the reading nook, could be both practical and beautiful. It was important to me that each piece we hung meant something to us, and she understood that. The family photos above our bed and the new wall gallery (opposite) contain prints, like lyrics from our favorite songs, that I had been eyeing for a long time, but never had the vision to completely pull together. I would highly recommend Jonna for anyone that would like their space to feel both personalized and beautiful. I find myself writing, reading and relaxing in my room more than I ever have!

Jonna helped bring our home remodel to life. She was able to recommend key design ideas that I wouldn't have thought possible to maximize our space. She is creative, original and professional and kept us in budget.

Jonna helped make over our loft, which had become an uninspired, boring play space for our 7-year-old daughters. With not much more than a paint brush and some colorful accessories, she turned the space into a wonderland of creativity and fun for the girls. It was a pleasure working with her, and we love the work she did for us!

Extremely creative - is able to personalize your home in a manner that transcends 'cookie cutter' approaches to design. Keen eye for color, textures, and shapes. Is able to provide choices at varying budget levels without judging your ultimate choice. Has a wide range of resources from which to draw from and subs were all professional and timely. I would (and plan) on working with this company again!

Jonna is amazing. I worked with her on our living room and my personal home office. She spent a lot of time in my home before recommending anything so she could get a sense of our personal style. The result has been an "elevated" space that we feel at home in. Her eye is really great, and I learned a lot about how to add texture and color to a room without getting overwhelmed. Finally, and very importantly, she was respectful of our budget and stayed within it. I would use Jonna again in a heartbeat (in fact, I'm just waiting for the opportunity to do another project with her!). If you're looking for a designer in the Denver/Boulder area, you can't go wrong with Jonna and Uncommon Nest!

Jonna has assisted me throughout my home, from finishing touches to our master bedroom to a complete overhaul of our main living/family room and more. Jonna is creative, energetic and will push you to decorate outside of your comfort zone - she did for me and I love the results!

Jonna Mulqueen, helped me redecorate my main home and my home in the mountains. She is GREAT. She has an amazing sense for color and for what pieces of furniture, artwork, etc. work in a space. She creates a look that is fairly unique-----you are not going to see the same interior in the house next door. She goes out of her way to obtain what works for as little money as possible. In addition, she is a LOT of fun to work with. I would definitely hire her again if I had another house. The cost estimate below is probably what I spent for both homes.
