Valerie seemed like a great person but I was not happy to pay an invoice that was very different than quoted in writing. Continued follow up after the consult was voluntarily given and apparently billed out without my approval or even asking me about my budget. Not satisfied on the service itself and lack of communication. If I wanted to move forward with her advise or loved her design direction, I would have hired her to continue. I was under the impression that I was getting a consultation.

Hi again Erika,

As stated, designers charge an hourly rate for the time spent on a project. Had we just discussed paint at our meeting it would have been an hour. However, you asked me my thoughts on lighting, mirrors, artwork, furniture, and plumbing that was not indicated when you simply asked for a paint consult and I quoted you 1 hour of time. I happily sent you $110 back via Venmo for the extra 45 min I spent on your project and at your home. Hopefully that satisfies you enough to stop leaving these unnecessary reviews.

Valerie is a pleasure to work with. She is prompt and listens well and was able to deliver above and beyond what I asked for. I would use her again for any design project in a heartbeat. And I’m pretty picky.

We worked with Val on a basement remodel and couldn't be happier with the end result. If it weren't for her, we would have ended up with a "same old, same old" basement, but instead, got something unique and beautiful that fits our family's needs. She was quick to respond to questions even when she wasn't there, but the subcontractors were, helping me to feel at ease with the whole project. I would recommend Val to anyone and everyone! Our kiddos adore her and they love the unique book-nook she helped us create for them.

Valerie was instrumental in our remodeling project!! She took the reigns on everything from scheduling contractor work, narrowing choices regarding wall coverings, paint colors, tile options, and everything in between. It was fantastic to have someone on our team who listened to what we wanted to accomplish, and then execute it in a way that made us feel in charge of our remodel while doing most of the work for us. We would definitely use Valerie Jaksic Design again!

We hired Valerie in 2019 to help with give our 16 year home a face-lift! We didn't want to move but wanted to feel like we had a "new" home. She was fabulous! She planned everything for us (even picking out our furniture) and the final outcome was a new home! She worked within our budget and has such creative ideas - honestly can't say enough about her work! Highly Recommend

Valerie is excellent to work with. She helped us design our basement at our cottage from start to finish. She put every space to use, including a mini-bar under the steps! She listened to our needs, had fabulous decorating ideas, and was always very timely in getting back to us! We appreciate every minute of working with her!
