Cal Design & Management

My project was fairly simple, basically remove and replace, but I just didn’t know how to get started. With Didi’s drawings, measurements and projected view of the final project I had the confidence to move forward.

Didi, Abel and their team were incredible to work with. This was our first home remodel and they helped us through every step of the process. They were organized, on-time, on budget, worked late/weekends when needed to meet deadlines, helped wrangle all the moving parts and were all around lovely to work with. We are beyond happy with our kitchen and highly recommend them.

I very much enjoyed working with Didi at Cal Design & Management for our kitchen remodel. He created an awesome 3D vision for our new space and was prompt in updating and replying to any design changes. He accompanied me to several showrooms and was very easy to work with. His 3D designs really help envision the space!

Having Didi go out of his way to provide 3D designs was super helpful for helping us nail our bathroom designs. We had a lot of changes that we made through out the process, but was always willing to do the work and remain patient with us. Don't know how we would have done the project without the 3D design.

Didi's working on a complete renovation of my mother's home in parallel with our architect and has made a challenging process MUCH easier. Didi has caught architectural mistakes and helped optimize a design (so it's not just architecturally sound but is designed with my aging parents in mind). On our most recent architectural drawings, he spent hours with me via zoom trying to visualize and optimize a layout that we could only figure out in 3D together. When we needed mom's approval of the design but I expressed concern that she's tech challenged, he went out of his way to drive to her home and walk her through everything so she could envision the architectural plans. Didi spent 3 (!!) hours patiently explaining things, taking in her requests, making immediate modifications to the 3D images, and not judging her concerns about fengshui. I can't fully express my gratitude--you need Didi to advocate for you!

Didi is terrific! He is very responsive and and full of great ideas. It has been very helpful to see the bathroom plans fully detailed in 3D shortly after we discuss new ideas. He is personable and easy to work with.

We remodeled our master bathroom last year. While it was a very large bathroom, the placements of the shower, toilet, tub and vanity were awkward. We didn't know where to start on how to reconfigure everything. Didi was a designer recommended by our contractor. He was professional, patient and had loads of wonderful ideas. Didi came to our home to look over our current bathroom. Even though we could not articulate exactly what we wanted in design terms, Didi spent the time to understand our needs and concerns. He spent time to deliver us several design options using a 3-D design tool. It was amazing how he captured our needs. The design depictions were extremely helpful to us when making key decisions about the best placement of fixtures and materials to be used. We avoided making mistakes and thereby saved money by choosing the right materials and fixtures upfront. We have been using our bathroom for 6 months, and absolutely love the design and flow of everything. Didi's design ideas turned our large awkward master bathroom into a sleek and elegant space, and yet a cozy and functional bathroom. We highly recommend working with Didi because detailed quality design work upfront can make a huge difference in the end result --- both in terms of what you what and cost savings.

Didi was our designer for our garage remodeling project. It was very helpful to have a design before starting the remodeling project to see what we wanted and make sure our contractors knew what our vision was. Didi provided a high quality design and was very receptive to any little change we wanted to make. The design process took about a month. In the end, our completed remodeled garage was very similar to the initial design with a few changes!

We are in the process of doing a complete remodel. I am so thankful that DiDi was brought onto this project! DiDi created a 3D version of our dream kitchen! We just finished our kitchen demo and DiDi revised our current plans, that resulted in adding additional sunlight and stream lining the cabinets/appliances to create an elegant and functional space. DiDi also saved us money because 1) he was able to identify issues with the planned relocation of our pantry/heater and 2) he created a solution to avoid relocating them. He has also helped pick out cabinets and complementing quartz for our countertops. I truly believe that DiDi has helped us avoid “Remodel Buyers Remorse,” that so many people experience.

I worked with Didi to create the design for my master bath remodel. His ideas were great and was very easy to work with. He was able to put all our needs in the design and the final output was great. I would definitely recommend him.

We found the experience working with Cal Design, and specifically with Didi very positive. First, Didi is very professional. He is knowledgeable about the design options and the different products that are available for design solutions. He also knows the requirements for code compliance . His work is accurate and reliable. He made sure that the measurements were very precise, even coming to the house several times to remeasure the work done by the architect (he caught a few mistakes there). Second, He listened to all of our ideas very intently and also offered new ideas when needed. Third, we loved working with him through video chat. We could see the design changes in real time, while talking with him, which really helped us understand the different choices we had and make better decisions. Didi also made sure that our design choices not only looked amazing but were also practical. Working with video chat also enable us to do quick changes with him when the design had to change due to unexpected issues that arose during renovations. The final design video is really helpful to get a feel for the overall look of the house after working and paying attention the all the details. Didi is a great person to have on your team.
