Our kitchen renovation was completed the end of June, a project that was long overdue! Let me start by saying we had never taken on any project of this magnitude before, it seemed quite daunting. We called several different companies for ideas & estimates, but KDI was the company we chose because of Laura and her number crunching & wonderful design layout of the kitchen!! We were thinking it would never happen due to the extremely high estimates we had been getting, but It all came together working with Laura who helped us realize we could have a Beautiful, better functioning kitchen & still be within our budget. The result was astonishing, a totally different, room utilizing every inch of workable space. It is a joy to prepare & cook now with so much counter space & gorgeous soft close cabinets to store everything. We could not be happier with our new kitchen & with Laura Boone for her Stellar design ideas!

Laura took a challenging space and transformed it into a beautiful retreat. We worked with Laura on our kitchen remodel several years ago and are still delighted with the outcome.

Couldn't be more thrilled with our new design and cabinets. Laura Boone provided 3 CAD designs to chose from. We selected the design that gave us that big WOW factor we were looking for. We eliminated a pantry but somehow Laura used every nook and cranny that fits it all, just forced to be neater, rather than crammed in. The island I wanted to serve as my work area. Behind that island is a computer pull out drawer, and 3 file drawers. I can work on my beautiful butcher block island and then hide everything away. Thank you for our beautiful cabinets, counter tops and great customer service.

Our project was held for 10 weeks because of Laura. 3 weeks to get initial measurements 5 weeks for pencil rectangle drawing (no cad drawings) a couple more weeks to pick out things out and more for her to come and do final measurements. She was rude and kept telling us that what we wanted was not in our budget. We did not share a budget with her but she just assumed that we couldn’t afford her work. We kept asking her where she got her budget from and she could not answer. We bought and PAID IN FULL for a $12,000 custom cabinet and vanity with the most expensive countertop in their inventory. Uneven doors, cracks in both doors, countertop not attached, and just poor craftsmanship. I have pictures of all the poor work they did. I can’t even get an apology out of them. There is no way this should have left the shop the way it did.

We worked with KDI in Newport News, VA to remodel our Kitchen which was 32 years old with original appliances. We live on the water and have a great room-kitchen, sunroom all on the water side. We are so excited with the results! We worked with Laura who guided us expertly through the process. We can get overwhelmed with all the choices out there. We knew we wanted rustic and had some basic ideas. She had great ideas and was so helpful in nailing our ideas down and\or suggesting what else might look good. She designed our kitchen with a detailed eye for efficiency in cooking & growing old with a cabinet for the mixer, pullouts, & such. We actually ended up redoing the first floor to compliment the kitchen and update our house in general. KDI focused on the kitchen and hooked us up with a local contractor who had worked previously with KDI clients and held our hand with the rest of the remodel. We feel like we are living in luxury with our updated kitchen!

KDI did a wonderful job making my kitchen much more functional. Laura Boone was able to envision what I was wanting when 2 other designers did not. She was very creative and we are very pleased with the end result.

We started with water damage to our kitchen interior wall from a split sink pipe. The damage was extensive enough to warrant removal of all base cabinets. New cabinetry was required (and desired). Our contractor recommended KDI. Laura Boone came to our house to see what our issues and desires were. We hit it off right away. Laura was very attentive to our situation and budget. Our relatively small kitchen presented Laura with some design challenges, but her final design layout using our available space was outstanding. We were consulted all along the way and were able to interject our ideas. Laura incorporated everything we wanted plus her super design ideas based on years of experience as to what works and what does not. Our experience with KDI and Laura Boone was a totally gratifying experience. All work was done and completed as laid out. Again, we have a small space for a kitchen, but with Laura's design every inch is wonderfully utilized and beautiful!

We worked with KDI and Laura Boone to completely remodel our kitchen. Originally we had drawn all the layout ourselves and planned to buy pre-made cabinets. I stopped in to KDI and toured their manufacturing facilities and was impressed by their quality and desire to do a great job. We worked with Laura and she had some great ideas we hadn't thought of and we wound up taking all her advice. We took out walls, ceilings - everything but the floor. During the whole process, working with several sub-contractors and a couple of their delays (not KDI's), KDI was patient and worked around our schedule completely. The cabinets we chose are stunning and the granite is beautiful with a flowing pattern. They even matched the veins in the pattern where there is a seam and you have to search for the seam. Its now been a couple of years since we had the remodel done and have been so impressed with the quality that we are going to install built in cabinets in our dining room to match the kitchen and tie the rooms together. It was wonderful to work with a local manufacturer and Laura is a patient and knowledgeable designer with practical ideas and worked within our budget.

Laura Boone was just wonderful! We hired Kitchen Design as our bathroom renovation specialist with Laura leading us in the right direction for beauty and function! We were very pleased to have Laura's expertise help us along and have been extremely pleased with the outcome! We would definitely hire her again for any other projects in the future.

Laura was very professional in her work and offered good insight for the best design and use of space. She accompanied us in the selection of countertops, sinks, etc. The quality of work is excellent and we appreciate the result. The deadlines were met and the support teams did a good job.

Laura at KDI did an awesome job from start to finish on our new kitchen design. She gave us suggestions we would have never thought of and the kitchen turned out absolutely beautiful. We would not change a thing. She made several trips to our house to make sure everything was measured correctly and that the proceess went smoothly. The entire experience could not have been any better !

Laura was wonderful to work with. She helped us make informed decisions when we chose the cabinets and countertops for our new home. She is very knowledgeable about design, materials, and working within a budget. We are very happy with the end results and we would hire KDI for future projects.

Kitchen Design is a top notch company. Designer Laura Boone is wonderful to work with and we were extremely pleased with the end result our kitchen looked amazing.

I would *highly recommend* Kitchen Design, Inc in Newport News, VA. The quality of their cabinets are unsurpassed. The quartz counter tops that I ordered from them were unquestionably the thickest quartz that I have ever seen. Plus, they came finished with a "bull nose" and they appear seamless. I have no idea how they did it. Their designer, Laura Boone, really listened to me. She was very conscience of my budget and helped me to make the best choices. I had a 3 1/2 foot water distiller that I needed to accommodate. ... plus dog feeding bowls... plus specific storage and display issues. She had solutions that I had never dreamed of. I am *absolutely thrilled* with the results. Free advice: Do not make the #1 kitchen design mistake and try to do it yourself. I did my homework and I still would have made huge mistakes. Laura was worth her weight in gold....., plus her fee was rolled into the cost of my order once I decided to go with Kitchen Design, Inc. More free advice: "Cheap and discount" should be avoided unless you can see AND feel the product. Kitchen Design, Inc is very fair in their pricing because ALL of their materials are highest quality and they include the* entire package*. For example, for one sum, the counter tops included a deep, heavy stainless sink.... all installed... even with custom placement of my faucet and soap dispenser. As previously mentioned, they were also grandly thick and came finished with a bull nose. Buy less and better instead of more and inferior. You will be happier in the end without regrets. . From my first phone call to Kitchen Design to the completion of my kitchen was superb. The designer Ms. Boone was so helpful. Her knowledge and professionalism stood strong to the end. She answered all (and there were many) questions i had. Ms. Boone drew up a design that was more than i could have ever thought of and stayed in my budget. She is the reason i chose this company. Everyone from Kitchen Design involved in this project was knowledgeable,respectful and professional. They were always on schedule. I am so pleased and i would highly recommend Kitchen Design. My new kitchen is a showpiece!

Laura Boone was our kitchen designer and she did a fantastic job designing a working space that is both practically sound and beautiful. I can honestly say now that is has been completed for over a month, there is not one thing I would change about any of it.

Kitchen Design cabinets look great until you open the doors/drawers and look behind them. The construction is poor--amateur at best. Despite the fact that they were not on our list of approved suppliers, our client insisted on using Kitchen Design because they were the low bid contractor for their new custom kitchen. The client choose cherry cabinets based on wood/finish samples provided by Kitchen Design. However, when the cabinets were installed they had a considerable amount of sapwood which was absent from the sample the client approved. As the general contractor, we ended up paying Kitchen Design more than $1,000 to replace cabinet doors/drawers with sapwood which were objectionable to the client. Kitchen Design misrepresented their product to our client. If you are considering Kitchen Design, take along a High School shop teacher to evaluate their cabinet construction. He'll likely give them an "F."

We constructed a new home in Ashland, VA. After much searching on the internet we decided to try Kitchen Design, Inc. because they offered truly custom cabinetry. We had developed our own kitchen layout but Laura Boone was able to fine tune it and add extra design features which brought our kitchen to a new level. Laura also developed custom plans for our three full bathrooms. The quality and service we received from Kitchen Design, Inc. was outstanding. Before buying standard cabinets shop Kitchen Design, Inc. as you will be very surprised by their competitive pricing. We upgraded our cabinets and lowered our costs. Our son and wife live in Mechanicsville, VA. have since used Kitchen Design, Inc. and Laura for three bathrooms and are hoping to redo their kitchen in the near future.

I’m writing on the behalf of Laura, Kitchen Design Newport News, Virginia. In any sense of the word, a great deal, relies on the interpretation of goods of services received. My ‘great deal’ was exceptionally commendable because of Laura’s professional ability and personal service. The high quality product would not have been sufficient without her insight, perseverance and cost effectiveness. To begin with was the planning stage where Laura influenced a small kitchen design to become larger by utilizing space. Keeping the work triangle was a must, but her challenge was to convince us of moving the dishwasher to the left of the sink gave us more drawer space. Her foresight in having wall cabinets flowing to the ceiling made more storage without feeling confined. Also, after our disclosure of not having counter space, she introduced an idea for the microwave to be installed above the stove. Some of the simplest things make a bold new change. One of the biggest fears of hiring a designer was not able to make our own decisions on the effect of how our kitchen would look, feel and function. Laura gave us the control we wanted but in turn she gave us the tools and experience we needed. After production and installation came to true light that Laura truly was behind us 100%. We are convinced the ‘great deal’ became a reality while under budget, a well-crafted design and reflecting true talent from Laura. Thank you, Norman Lehner and family

My name is Tom Pitkin and Laura Boone helped my wife and I RE-DO our kitchen after a disaster at our home. We had a flood as a result of a major leak from an upstairs bath. Laura and her Kitchen design team came in and provided us with a FIRST RATE, STATE OF ART kitchen design. Laura was insightful, patient, and professional. The result of Laura's vision produced a result far better than we had envisioned.
