I've initiated a lawsuit against Janet Masalo and Scott Masalo of Marin Kitchen for damages sustained to my new kitchen island by Marin Kitchen. Marin Kitchen finished the stone installation of my kitchen island in March 2021. I noticed that the stone had scuff marks on the top surface and took photos and recorded a video which was shared with Marin Kitchen. After many months of emails and two attempts of them sending people to try and "buff out" there's been no resolution. It's been over a year now and they have no motivation to resolve this because I had paid in full (about $20K) so they have my money and have left me no choice but to take legal action. I'll continue to update this post to let everyone know how this gets resolved. In the meantime, if you're considering using Marin Kitchen, be warned. I am making myself available to any customers that would like to know more. Feel free to contact me.

Our recent experience with Marin Kitchen Company was terrific! Both Scott and Janet had wonderful ideas during the planning stages of kitchen design. For the implementation phase we found all members of the crew to be professional and courteous. Importantly all members of the team (electrician, plumber, painter and carpenter) were high skilled. The project was completed in about 6-7 weeks as promised and within estimated budget. Most importantly, we love our kitchen.

We really enjoyed working with Janet and Scott on our bathroom remodel. We have an Eichler home in San Rafael, and Scott was very familiar working with this type of construction. He gave us some great ideas on the type of wood to use that would match our natural paneling, as well as a countertop material that would match the wood. Janet did a great job with the countertops and making sure they were installed and delivered on time. The installers were very professional. I would definitely work with them again.

Scott is pretty much a genius, he has a great breadth of experience with kitchens, but also 'sees' things that a lot of other contractors don't. He was our GC on a much broader (and bumpier) project than a kitchen remodel, and I would recommend highly to others looking at either kitchen work or more extensive help. Great spacial understanding, big picture knowledge, but also very very focused on detail. He looks at the project from the persecutive of the people using the space in 5, 10, 15 years, even when it would be easier to just splash stuff together. We hired Marin Kitchen Co to perform a complete kitchen remodel on a fairly tight time frame without much room for delays (our new baby was due in December) and they delivered. Scott and Janet are both very knowledgeable and helped us make informed decisions quickly. Any unforeseen challenges we encountered were promptly addressed and conquered. Their crew was courteous and hard working. We will be using them again on future projects.

I used Marin Kitchen Company to do a complete remodel of my kitchen after being referred to them by a neighbor. I initially came across Marin Kitchen Co via another website which also had many positive reviews for the company. I visited their showroom and met Janet who was professional, friendly as well as a wealth of information about quartz countertops. Her partner Scott was also a huge help in providing me with a lot of technical knowledge, as I was designing the new kitchen myself along with custom island that would have an incorporated bar. Janet was great about presenting me many options and solutions for my needs. She allowed me to borrow large quartz samples which were instrumental in making a final decision. I was also able to present my own design ideas and both Janet and Scott were able to confirm that my preparations were on track to get the final result I desired. Their installer, Kevin and his crew, were equally impressive. I was surprised as to how fast the quartz pieces were fabricated and installed. The work is top notch. In fact, I was so impressed with the entire process that I ultimately increased the scope of my work to have more quartz countertops installed in place of my original intent of stainless steel. On this second job, the entire crew at Marin Kitchen Co were equally impressive in price, installation, speed and quality. While my project is not 100% complete at the time of this writing, I'm very pleased with the work from Marin Kitchen Co,

Janet Masolo at Marin Kitchen Company was constantly helpful in organizing my granite counter top install. First she advised me about material possibilities and discussed the choices. She managed the tear out of old tiles and re-build of the plywood support and the granite installation. The whole job took a week and a half and would have been quicker if not for July 4th. She answered all my e-mails, texts and phone calls very quickly. She kept everything moving along without problems. When I was worried over details she calmed me down and made sure all went well. The counters are very beautiful. I highly recommend Marin Kitchen Company.

I had a terrific experience working with Janet at Marin Kitchen Co on my kitchen. She was very thorough -- spent time with me reviewing options and prices. Her knowledge of products was very extensive and she had great suggestions for materials and colors to complement existing cabinetry. I very much appreciated how Janet followed up immediately after our visit with photos and quotes. The quote I received from Janet at Marin Kitchen for counters, fabrication and install was considerably less than two additional quotes I received from competitors in the area! It was a true pleasure to work with Marin Kitchen Co. on our kitchen update. I hired the Marin Kitchen Company. They specialize in White Kitchen Cabinets, but will meet you needs on other choices. Scott, the co-owner and designer made several trips to our home to study and discuss possible outcomes. We had a fireplace in the kitchen, which in the end came out to make way for a built in Refrigerator and Pantry. Glad we did this since we didn't need a fireplace in the kitchen. The project went according to plan. The final cabinet work and Quartz counter tops were perfectly installed. I love the soft close features on doors and drawers. We also got expert advice on new appliances to meet our budget. We are totally satisfied with the work and end product.

This was the fastest ,easiest, and best kitchen renovation I've ever done. I stopped in, described to Janet what I wanted, she showed me exactly the counter sample and sink I wanted, referred me to Monark appliances to fill that need, and the whole decision process was done in less than two hours. Her demo people and installers were fast and professional, and everything looks amazing. Don't bother to shop around; just go see Janet.

Not only did she answer all of our questions, provide us take home samples and fulfill all our requests - she identified and ensured delivery of our custom kitchen countertops - ahead of schedule! Then, in a stunning extra-credit move. She referred us to a tiler who provided next day services - and picked up our tile when the tile delivery service failed to deliver. Back in early spring I contacted Marin Kitchens about a kitchen/bath remodel I was considering. The house in question: 1920's cottage, 1350 sq ft. with the original kitchen and 50's updated bath. Scott and I talked about the project, walked though the house, I had my ideas, he listened, and added a few of his own. Right away he was proactive in drawing up the vision he saw. His vision quickly became mine because the issues I was concerned about with a small kitchen and bath were: good storage, functionality and having it appear larger and more open. All things he made possible, even where I couldn't "see" it. In vetting three serious candidates for the project, I chose Scott and Janet (the Marin Kitchens super duo- also husband and wife). They were not the cheapest, they were the fairest. Upfront costs estimated, explained, and with very few deviations. The project was slated to take 10 weeks, but with an old house anything was possible. There were a few glitches, but all handled as quickly as possible and with a work crew that has been with Marin Kitchens for years and knew what they were doing. The quality of work was apparent. The project was finished in 9 weeks! My new kitchen and bath are just what I wanted. I highly recommend Marin Kitchens. I never felt Scott was rushed during our meetings or "had" to be somewhere else. He was a true project manager juggling many things at one time. He's experienced, efficient and sees the job through the last punch list entry. Janet is a perfect compliment to Scott and as a team they are top notch. Also, they have a great showroom in San Rafael, and are both very welcoming. Five stars!

I recently coordinated a client kitchen remodel project with Marin Kitchen Company. They have a wonderful selection of cabinets, countertops and hardware. These people really know what they're doing - and where all the potential land mines are. Think you can't afford consultants for your remodel? Their quote for our kitchen was LESS than IKEA and we got all the personal attention, guidance and patience we needed to complete the project without costly errors or bodily harm. Oh yeah - and the kitchen looks great.

Wish I could give 10 stars to Scott and Janet at Marin Kitchen! I had a bathroom vanity and countertop made and installed and they made me feel like it was a huge and important order-that's the kind of high quality service you get. I appreciated every bit of technical and design advice I received from a couple of true pros. Everything was managed immaculately from the ordering to the installation. What a difference it makes when you get to deal with super nice, professional and competent people with lots of integrity. I'm so grateful I found them and hope you do, too!

Scott and Janet did an excellent job designing and installing custom cabinets for our kitchen and 3 bathrooms after a plumbing leak destroyed the interior of our home. The quality of the walnur and cherry cabinets is outstanding, and we received several samples of wood and stain combinations to get the perfect colors and grain. There were some finishing details that needed to be addressed and they were taken care of to our complete satisfaction. Scott and Janet were a lot of fun to work with and did a superb job.

We met with Janet at Marin Kitchen Works to consult about new countertops for our kitchen. Janet was very friendly and professional when she advised about the kind of materials that would be appropriate for our job. Janet also found us a new sink and faucet that she encouraged us to purchase to really make the project look its best. We are very pleased with the finish product. Everyone worked with us to complete the project in a timely fashion. The workmanship of Larry who did the demolition, and installation of the base plywood structure, the faucet and the sink was excellent. I would (and have already) highly recommend this company.

Marin Kitchen Company has been great! They provided invaluable information about cabinet selection and were very honest in helping me assess the pros and cons of styles, brands and colors. The same for counters. Costs were exactly as quoted. Materials were delivered exactly as ordered--no surprises. They were also very accommodating of changes to design plans. And, they arranged to have the counter installation expedited which helped tremendously with the overall project schedule.

We wanted to remodel our kitchen in a modern European look and shopped at many kitchen stores. Marin Kitchen Co was a fantastic partner to achieve exactly the look and quality that we wanted to achieve. They worked through all the details with us and were always there to make everything look just perfect. We ordered all the cabinets, counter tops and they also did an amazing job installing everything. We got the European look with all the precise, streamlined design and precision without the made-in-Europe price.

We wanted to use a local company for our counter top that had good customer service and reliable and good quality counter tops to choose from at reasonable prices. I went into Marin Kitchen Co to look at what they had with our 8mth old daughter and Janet greeted us and was so friendly and was chatting and playing with our daughter as she showed me their stock and explained the differences in the materials,styles etc and sent me home with a couple of samples to show my husband. The price was similar to other places we looked at but the customer service was well above the other places we had been to. Everything from the Time frame of getting the counter top,installing it and cost estimate Janet have us was spot on and the guys that measured and installed the counter top were great too. It was an easy process with Janet and we wished we had have ordered out entire kitchen through them. I couldn't recommend them highly enough and if we ever did another kitchen, we would certainly use Marin Kitchen Co again.

Scott Masolo of Marin Kitchens has been a godsend for our home renovation projects (kitchen and breakfast room, then main bath). He has been simply fantastic at every aspect of each renovation, from having the patience in responding to numerous questions and ideas, to taking the time to understand what we were trying to achieve. He effectively worked our objectives into a classically stylish and ergonomic design, all the while presenting suggestions and options that nevertheless escaped our consideration. Marin Kitchen Company did an outstanding job. This was a complete kitchen remodel. Scott was incredible in his advice, help, and assistance in providing choices. We were doing two bathroom remodels and had been looking for vanity tops. After much search we went to Marin Kitchen Company on Francisco Blvd E in San Rafael. Our first contact was with Scott, who was patient and showed us all the different options available. We decided to go with them because the pricing was very competitive and they gave a very good feeling that they would be with us all the way to the end. Janet took over and helped us decide on the right counter top and helped with all of the scheduling for templates and installations. We were kept informed every step of the way. As in all construction projects, delays happened and it never seemed to bother her. She was very accommodating in moving appointments and did so very efficiently. We ordered drawer pulls through them as well and when one of the pulls arrived with a part missing, Janet not only got it replaced, but also got an extra pull to keep for spares. I ordered Cesarstone from Marin Kitchen, their quote was by far the lowest in my area and they were very easy to work with. Janet went above and beyond to work with our schedule for both templating and installation. She worked with the fabricator to have them move up the install date to accommodate us. The countertops are beautiful and we highly recommend working with Marin Kitchen Co.
