See the project photos below: The first display visible to our visitors when they enter our showroom (which they swoon over!) has a hand-planed flat grain wenge top with hand rubbed black glaze and a satin Durata (waterproof!) finish. The other Grothouse masterpiece that everyone just loves is the ultra thick, oil finish butcher block in our working kitchen. Needless to say, our design experts highly recommend Grothouse!

After seeing Grothouse Lumber's work on 'This Old House", I knew when we renovated our kitchen we would include one of their butcher blocks in our design. We chose end-grain cherry with sapwood, with a simple 3/8" chamfer edge for our island. We couldn't be more pleased with the results, their material quality and workmanship are superb. We enjoy having the butcher block as the centerpiece of the kitchen, though it's by no means a showpiece, we put it to use everyday as our primary cutting surface.
