Had my house remodeled with JDJ, and other than some small hiccups along the way, (which I'm sure is to be expected with a project of this size) everything went well and I was very pleased with the end result!

Sheila and I are happy to review JDJ. Dan was very insightful and gave us great direction and advice on how to accomplish our goals. We had an initial meeting where Dan was able to uncover what we wanted and needed in our home project. We worked together with Dan to establish a budget and he was able to deliver a beautiful addition to our home. Dan and his team were able to stay "on time" and most importantly "on budget" with our project. We actually had a significant addition to our 1st floor, taking our many small rooms into a large open concept living area. Dan's experience and knowledge was key to the success of our project. We feel very confident in recommending JDJ and have in fact already referred friends and family to JDJ. If you are looking to do a project please ask Dan to meet with you, you will be very satisfied with JDJ's quality and workmanship.

JDJ Remodeling recently completed an extensive home makeover for us. All the contractors & office personnel were professionals. They were respectful and did a fine job for us in spite of current difficult times. We appreciate their extra effort to details. We are very happy with the results and would definitely recommend them.

JDJ is an absolutely wonderful company to do business with. Dan is always updating you on where your project is at. We put A porch on the front of our house this summer and could not be happier. We had a couple of minor issues that you would not be able to know about until the decking was up. I called Dan and he came over with a solution in mind already. Very professional and honest. We will definitely be going with JDJ for our basement remodel and addition.

The death of my mom brought my disabled brother from Cali to Wis and we needed to make his living environment safe. We needed to make two bedrooms into one and the bath handicapped accessible, we also had the attic finished and a second bath added. Work began with demo and then 16 weeks with out a bathroom or shower! We begged for a working shower and with all the sub contractors coming and going in small portions our build was drawn out well past the completion time. When confronted we were told we were a job "fill" and would get work completed when it is completed. Dan was aware of the issues of our disabled brother yet allowed the completion dates to go well past and we suffered. Once work was somewhat done we were told by Dan that he would reach out to us to complete the work in May of 2020, we have heard nothing from him. I regret hiring JDJ Remodel and we don't recommend him or Suburban that he hires to do a lot of the work. Their incompetence has our attic ceiling cracking and coming apart, and Dan knows this issue and still nothing from him. You don't need the head aches that JDJ will cause you, find a better contractor.

JDJ Remodel did a fantastic job converting our small kitchen, dining room, and living room into a large kitchen and living area. Lots of structural changes with the project! JDJ completed our project on time (short time frame even) and on budget. They were easy to work with and easy to communicate with. Great ideas and wonderful work! We absolutely love our new living space. Highly recommend!

I have a 1970's home and JDJ added a bedroom and bathroom to the basement. The design and use of space was great. Dan was receptive to my ideas and incorporated them into the final plan. They did a good job of keeping the area clean throughout the duration of the project and the final result exceeded my expectations.

JDJ was fantastic throughout the entire remodel process, from bid to completion. Communication was spot on, any questions we had were answered almost immediately. Dan and all the subcontractors were professional, excellent quality all around, on time and on budget. There were never any unexpected costs. We had an issue with a shower door hinge that was installed almost 3 years ago, Dan called back immediately and the issue was resolved the next day at no cost to us. We have worked with other contractors in the past, and Dan and JDJ are by far the best of the best!!

Working with JDJ Remodel was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We began with a segmented kitchen, dinette and dining room and ended up with a bright, modern open space that transformed our home. JDJ was excellent to work with from start to finish on our kitchen remodel. We met with four remodeling businesses in selecting our major make over that included removing the dining room wall and expanding the kitchen. Perry Szcpek, Senior Design Sales Associate, was very patient working with us to create our dream kitchen. The three other remodelers each wanted money down prior to even seeing a design. Perry showed us an architectural drawing at no cost and then worked with us until we were completely comfortable with the design, detail, and price. I met with each of the craftsman as they worked on our project and learned that most of them do the majority of their work on JDJ projects. The working relationship between the craftsmen and JDJ was very evident and it was important to us to know that JDJ works exclusively with top notch contractors. The great working relationship the contractors have with JDJ and each other clearly aided the process. The project was completed on time as promised, with no surprises or hidden costs. We could not be happier with our JDJ remodeled kitchen. Each morning we walk into our wonderful kitchen we are reminded that we made the right choice in selecting JDJ.

jDj lifestyle & design did an outstanding job. The workmen were very professional and polite. Everyone was respectful of the job they were completing, therefore all of the work from rough carpentry to the finished product was done to perfection! We recently hired JDJ in the fall of 2017 to do a major renovation of our first floor Cape Style home. The renovation included a complete gutting of family room, kitchen, dining rm, office, powder room, and breakfast nook. We were hesitant to live in the basement during the entire process but JDJ stuck to the schedule they gave us and finished the entire project to the time table they promised. We have nothing but great things to say about the quality and craftsmanship they delivered. My wife and I decided this was our last home ever and we went all out on what we wanted. Working with JDJ for our bathroom remodel went very smoothly. Perry was great helping to design and picking out cabinets, quartz, tile, fixtures and even the paint color. We hired jDj to add a master bath and walk in closet. They actually were built within a very large master bedroom that had enough space. In addition they remodeled an existing main bath and replaced all doors on the second floor where the rooms were located. The entire project is beautiful!! Perry the designer had excellent ideas that really fit in with our vision and style. Dan the project Manager was on top of every stage of the schedule. My texts to him were replied to within minutes. The workmen were easy to work with and I never had an issues with their work- true craftsmen. I would highly recommend jDj and will use them again in the future.

I worked with JDJ to remodel and add onto an 1850s stone farmhouse in Cedarburg, WI and our family couldn't be happier. JDJ came up with a great design that gave us everything we wanted with our project. JDJ's Design/Sales team, Project Management Team, and contractors were awesome to work with which helped get the project done in less than 5 months. I would highly recommend JDJ to anyone for any remodel/addition.

jDj finished our basement. It was a great experience from start to finish. Perry was great in the planning process and came up with a design that met all of our needs. Dan and all of the staff and crew were great to work with on the job. Everyone was able to work within our budgeted make any necessary adjustments and gave helpful suggestions along the way. JDJ remodeled both our kitchen and living rm. After meeting with Perry( Senior Designer) before signing of contract we found him to be efficient and very accommodating to our needs. His expertise in design and communication exceeded our expectations. Nothing was ever too difficult to solve for this team of excellent workers . Dan(Project Manager) let the homeowner feel confident that all the work would be completed in a professional manner. We have done three major remodels with JDJ, and specifically worked with Perry Szpek. First, a complete second floor addition on a ranch style home. Second, a master bedroom and bathroom remodel and finally, a first floor main bathroom remodel, all of which turned out amazing. We are now discussing a kitchen remodel and there is no question we would engage JDJ for that as well. Perry is an outstanding partner. His attention to detail and the attentiveness he gives his customers is first class. The team of Perry and Dan Klappa gave us peace of mind that everything would be taken care of and communication would be constant. We trust them completely and would recommend them to anyone. They have not been the first design & remodel company we have worked with but they will likely be the last. They are certainly the only one we would recommend.

Not many people would choose to start a three month remodel at the beginning of November. However, it couldn't have gone better with JDJ Lifestyle Design. Our remodel involved a master bedroom/bathroom, office and mudroom. We worked with Perry Szepk as our Senior Designer. From the start Perry was willing to collaborate our ideas and his expertise to come up with a design for each area. We felt Perry always listened to us and was really great to work with throughout the entire project. He communicated with us every step of the way, which was important. We can't say enough good things about Dan, the project manager. So knowledgeable in every area of the remodel. He is the type of project manager everyone should learn from. Whether there was a big or small concern, Dan just jumped in to make the project run smoothly. Such wonderful tradesmen who were always very polite and a pleasure to work with. We just completed the remodel of the main area's of our home which we recently purchased. This was a gut remodel which involved moving the kitchen from the center of the home to the front and going from a separate room concept to a completely open design. Perry's vision for the space far exceeded what we could imagine and moving our laundry area to the main level was brilliant and done in such a way that it added to the beauty of the space. I remember our first meeting when Perry presented drawings which contained his ideas for our dream home. He started the meeting by saying " what you will see is a first draft of my ideas based on your input and budget. This can be a starting point from where we tweak the design or, we can start over if this does not represent what you were hoping for as I am not married to these ideas. This told us that it was all about us and not him. Needless to say, his idea's where spot on and we proceeded to move forward. Another important aspect of the process is that Perry is with you as you make every selection. This was huge as we had never built a home and much of this project was like starting from scratch. From start to finish it took a total of 9 weeks and I am certain it would have taken months longer for any other firm. The project was over budget simply because of things we requested, NOT because of jDJj. The subcontractors where always on time, courteous and some of the best craftsmen I have ever worked with. They even cleaned up after themselves! If I had it to do over again I would not change one thing. JdJ is the best.

jdj did an awesome job with our kitchen remodel. Perry, the senior designer, is fantabulous! Perry assisted in the selection of the cabinets, countertop, tile, etc. and abided by our budget constraints. The best part of jdj is their ability to meet deadlines and keep to their tight schedule. Dan, the project manager, is super friendly, very knowledgable and detail orientated. We would highly recommend jdj to our family, neighbors and friends.

We had a great experience with JDJ Lifestyle Design when we recently finished the lower level in our home. The entire process went smoothly and professionally: Perry really listened to our wish list and came up with a design that not only met our criteria, but he added some design details that made the space beautiful as well as functional. In addition, Perry accompanied us on our trips to select materials and was very knowledgeable and helpful in assisting us. All products were ordered and on site prior to work being started, and all subcontractors were scheduled. Our project manager, Dan, supervised the work daily and the subcontractors were of high quality. The most amazing part of this experience is that JDJ completed our job right on schedule. We have used remodeling companies in the past and did not have great experiences. We have recommended JDJ to others and will definitely use them if we do remodeling in the future. Their pricing is fair, their people have high integrity and skill, and they are a cut above other remodeling companies.

When we decided to remodel our kitchen, powder room and laundry room, our first concern was how do we go about finding a reputable remodeling company to do the job. We had been in our house for 21 years and hadn't done any extensive remodeling since we built it. We had gone to a remodeling show, but found it overwhelming. So many companies out there. Then it came to us. Why not give JDJ a call? We used JDJ in our previous house and were completely pleased with their quality workmanship. We talked to Perry Szpek, Senior Design/Sales Associate, and set up an appointment to meet and discuss our plans for the remodel. Immediately we found Perry very easy to talk to. He went to great length to ask questions about our vision/ideas, our budget and offered suggestions too. We were impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. We ultimately signed a contract to proceed and eventually met Dan, the project manager. Dan was always there to meet with the contractors and keep the project on schedule. He addressed any concerns or questions we had promptly. We believe Dan is a true professional and highly knowledgeable. He made our project go flawlessly. In the end, the remodeling process for us was a very positive experience and believe it is because of Perry, Dan and all their tradesmen. They all were kind, conscientious of their work, professional, experienced and even had us laughing at times. Truly great people. Soon after purchasing a 25 year old condominium in Pewaukee, Wisconsin we decided that a major upgrade and remodel was necessary. Since we lived in the Rockford, Illinois area and I would be working for another 8 months, we decided to retain the services of a professional remodeler to complete the transformation of our new home. We were not familiar with local talent so, we were only able to search the internet to find qualified designers and remodeling contractors. After reviewing several websites and reading the reviews, we decided to interview JDJ Lifestyle Design Remodel and a few other firms. Several days later, Perry Szpek, Senior Designer/Sales Associate met up with us at the condo. We explained our vision for some of the changes to the kitchen, laundry room, powder room, pantry and master bathroom. We provided access to Perry and his team so they could measure and develop plans for the project. A couple of weeks later, we met again with Perry and his team to discuss a very preliminary sketch plan that had been forwarded earlier. They let us go on about what we though, what we wanted changed and then the dropped the bomb. A whole new plan. Something only an experienced designer would have been able to achieve. After tweeking the plans and firming up the numbers, we signed a contract. We were living and working in Illinois and did not plan to move into the condo until July or August. We met with the entire team, JDJ Staff and Sub-contractors in January to detail the plans and expectations. Demolition and construction started in February 2015 and was completed in June 2015. The entire team of professional carpenters, electricians, plumbers, drywall hangers, painters, flooring installers were very accommodating. They allowed us to work on our own projects in between their projects. With exception of the early demo days, the project site was always broom clean and clear of debris. JDJ, as the prime contractor kept us informed of all issues, at all times, even through a couple of difficult personnel changes. Perry kept close enough to the project that he was able to step right in during the transition. The project schedule was kept and the work was completed on time. In early 2016, we retained JDJ to redo our 2nd floor bathroom. If we had anything left to remodel, we would hire JDJ Lifestyle Design Remodel. They are not the cheapest, because in our opinion, they are the best!

jDj did an outstanding job with our basement remodeling project. Dan and his team helped us understand design options, timing, and costs. The only surprise we encountered was that the end result was even better than we thought. We love our new living space and the remodeling experience with jDj went very well. We contracted with jdj lifestyle design remodel to prepare a plan for and remodel our master bathroom. The project included removal of an old Jacuzzi and the construction of a walk in shower. jdj did a fine job and we are quite pleased with the results.

We recently had JDJ remodel two of our bathrooms at the same time; both rooms were completely gutted and redone. From the start, their staff was patient in helping with designing the two new rooms, they provided easy to follow plans, and provided an accurate cost. Throughout the remodel, ALL the contractors were courteous, did high quality work, and were meticulous. All in all, the remodel was beyond our expectation, came in at cost (without hidden fees), and on time.

After interviewing 5 remodeling companies, we chose jDj to remodel our Wauwatosa kitchen. Our first impression of the company began with meeting Perry, the senior designer. He was wonderful to work with along with all the contractors that were involved in our kitchen remodel. Craftsmanship was a huge priority and jDj came through with flying colors!!! We were so impressed by the ease of the entire project along with the finished project itself that we hired them again recently to remodel one of our bathrooms. Based on our recommendation, we have had 2 friends also complete projects with jDj. They are just an awesome company to work with!!!

We had a fantastic experience with JDJ and will definitely be using them again for home remodeling projects. The open concept redesign for our kitchen that Dan came up with was something that we would have never conceived of and thought was impossible but he made it happen. Dan’s design layout was so much more imaginative and inspired than the design that a different remodeling outfit had given us when we were initially obtaining quotes. In working with Dan, we decided to expand our remodeling project to include a mudroom/laundry room adjacent to the kitchen too. We also had JDJ design and install a new entertainment center as well and upgrade the tile around our fireplace to granite. We are so pleased with all of the work. We feel that this was a good value for the cost and the work was completed in a timely manner. As other reviews have stated, there were no surprises. JDJ carried out this project with an eye toward trying to minimize the disruption to our lives and they went the extra mile to close off the areas being remodeled by building temporary walls and doors to contain the construction dust. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and personable. He’s an all-around nice guy with a strong commitment to excellent customer service. He clearly wants to ensure that you are satisfied and happy with the work that he does. Dan was also very flexible with his time in meeting with us. The general contractor assigned to our projects was highly competent, friendly and very responsive when we had a request or needed to discuss something with him. I strongly recommend using JDJ for your home remodeling projects.

We were extremely satisfied with the work done by JDJ Builders when we had our two porches enclosed. They did a beautiful job of blending the new design with the existing structure of our log home. We found the JDJ team to be extremely professional and creative. They brought the projects in on time and on budget. We would not hesitate to use JDJ for any future projects.

We worked with Dan from JDJ on a remodel of our backyard including the addition of a large screened-in covered addition on the house. It covers an expansive seating area and hot tub. The patio area included a brick landscape wall and fire pit. From initial design to final completion, JDJ was very easy to work with and accommodated our schedule. We met multiple times in the design stage where Dan brought some great ideas for consideration. The design was beautiful and the finished project is perfect. It was completed on time and within the original budget. We will absolutely work with JDJ for any future building/remodel projects.

After a tornado damaged our home, we hired jDj Builders. Repairs included: full roof tear off and shingle replacement, 11 windows replaced, gutter replacement, drywall replacement, cedar siding replacement, and other misc items. The contractors were respectful, courteous, and mindful to clean up after themselves. The repairs took about 6 six weeks to complete. Several times a week Dan was on site to inspect the repairs and answer any questions I had. After the repairs were completed, I was so satisfied, I contracted with jDj to install granite countertops.

We needed windows replaced and some minor remodeling. JDJ was prompt, professional and completed the job while our family went on vacation. Came home to a beautiful job and NO mess. We could not be happier with the quailty of the job and the respect and kindness their crew showed our family. Give them a call....you will not regret it!

This is the second time that we had Dan and his team in our home to remodel. jDj completed our kitchen a few years ago and the quality was exceptional. When we decided to have ceiling beams and a new staircase installed we once again hired jDj. The job was once again completed timely, within the budget and the quality was excellent. We would hire jDj in the future to complete any additional projects. The price is higher than other companies but the work is better than expected.

I hired JDJ Builders to do a complete kitchen remodel in my home. This involved combining a current dining room and kitchen. Dan from JDJ came out to look at the project. He drew up plans along with ideas. He was open to my ideas as well as I was to his suggestions. We agreed on a cost and time in which the project would be completed. JDJ provided a schedule for the project along with payments to be made as the work was done. As the project progressed I made a few additions. These were addressed. The additional costs were submitted to me for my approval. The entire project was completed within the agreed upon time, including the additional items. There were no surprises as far as any hidden or addtional costs not previously agreed upon. When the project began the area was closed off to limit the amount of dust and dirt going into the rest of the house. At the end of each day the area was cleaned and prepared for the next days work. All of the workers were friendly and accomodating. The remodel was finished on time and within budget. I would hire JDJ for future work and would also recommend them to others with building/removeling needs.

Dan was responsive to our requests and have excellent suggestions for our pool house/storage. We are extremely pleased with everyone who worked on the project. All were great and fast!

We had JDJ finish our basement. They did a great job helping us with the design, and the project. Our input was important to them and all the contractors were friendly and helpful. Our kids loved them too! Dan and Chris were great to work with and were prompt about returning calls and discussing all options. Everyone in our neighborhood is envious of our basement.

Our family (of 6) has utilized the services of JDJ for two major home renovations including an addition on our home. We have since moved out of state, but had we stayed in Milwaukee, we would definitely continue to use them for any home renovations. We hired jDj on multiple occasions and have been extremely pleased and satisfied with the work that was performed. Living in a cold climate, JDJ helped us bring a vision of a warm and relaxing master bathroom from concept to reality. We discussed slate accent walls and lighted niches that would make an ordinary bathroom extraordinary. JDJ worked with us on each design feature including a heated floor to complete a master bathroom we will enjoy for the duration of our time in this house. We worked with JDJ to remodel our kitchen and laundry space. After interviewing several kitchen/bath remodelers and working through various layouts, Dan from JDJ was the only one that truly listened to our needs. The work performed was very thorough, we were given daily updates via email which was nice and given advance notice as to when the various trades would be coming in our home. Overall an excellent job and we were very pleased. Things went so well we hired JDJ to reside our home which was also executed flawlessly. Overall we impressed with the quality of work, the project management and the way the guys cleaned up after themselves-very important in a remodeling effort.

We have had JDJ do multiple projects on our home over the last few years - composite deck, egress window, reconfigure a stairwell, and a basement remodel. They paid attention to the details, kept a clean work environment and were always readily available to answer questions and address any issues that came up. We have used JDJ for two projects at our home. The first (June 2007) was a remodel. JDJ turned our former attached garage into a magnificent theater/trophy room. My husband is a big game hunter and they were the perfect company for the job. The walls needed to have not only drywall, but plywood behind the drywall in order to hang the heavy African mounts. The job started on the day that they promised and ended on the exact day that they said it would. The workmen were very professional and respectful of our home. Our second project was an outside job. JDJ took off all of our cedar siding that had cracked and cupped. We decided to go with a composite siding, new screens and storms, roof and lighting. WOW!, our house looks like it is brand new and again all was completed in a timely manner. We have recommended JDJ to several friends and family members and all had similar experiences with this remodeler. They are our go to guys. We can't say enough about them. Larry and Judy Britton

We first had jDj do a complete design and remodel our main bathroom....loved it! It seems twice as big! Next, we had them design a large addition, which includes a gorgeous kitchen /sun room off the back of our house. It turned out better than we ever could have dreamed. Our next project is to have jDj design and add on a master closet off the master bedroom. We don't even consider calling anyone else. Not only does jDj do wonderful work, they are fair, considerate, honest people to work with. Both Perry and Dan are great listeners. They tune in to what WE want and don't push us to do what THEY want. They are aware of our budget and stick to it. We have always appreciated the genuine concern for us as people first. We have recommended jDj to several friends, who in turn have been as satisfied as us.

I hired JDJ to remodel our 1950 home. They were very attentive to our needs throughout the process. When the unforeseen came up or I decided to change my mind, again, they worked with me and did not stick me with outrageous change orders. I feel as though I received excellent value for the price I paid. I have had other homes remodeled by "cheaper" contractors and the saying rang true, you get what you pay for.

This is the first time we have gone through the home remodeling process. Like any inexperienced home owners, we had apprehensions in regards to the home remodeling process. From the initial meetings with Dan, to the design coordination and the day-to-day project management by Chris, JDJ made the entire process extremely smooth and worry free. From every one on JDJ staff to every subcontractor that worked on our project, we were 100% satisfied with both the quality of their work and professionalism of the employees. JDJ is definitely the contractor that we are and continue to refer to our friends and relatives when they are contemplating a home remodeling project.

We have used JDJ for several different projects in multiple homes and have never been anything less than 100% satisfied with the outcome. They are professional, thorough, give incredible attention to detail, and overall provide an extremely positive and painless remodel experience; even through very extensive projects. I would high recommend JDJ, as they see you through your remodel from start to finish, and take care of every detail along the way. As I said, we have used them repeatedly, and would never have done so had we not been extremely happy with their work.

jDj remodeled my kitchen 2 years ago and did a fantastic job. We love the way it turned out. The process was smooth and the quality of work was great. The owner, Dan Klappa, checked on the progress regularly and was very responsive. We are considering having jDj work on another project in our home.

The latest project I hired JDJ for was a complete remodel of a full bathroom on the first floor. It was a major project. Everything was removed including a wall dividing the room, the drop ceiling and the drywall. The floor was stripped and heat/air brought into the room along with all new plumbing. New tub, surround, cabinets, lighting and fixtures were installed. I have used JDJ for three other projects in my house. They were all major remodeling. I traveled a lot for my job so I needed a firm I could trust, was committed and helped me with the design. I had no idea what I wanted. There staff helped me design the space. If I ever consider another remodeling project, I will go directly to JDJ.
