Margaret was a delight to work with. She is a great listener and hit a home run on the first draft of the plan. She helped us overhaul an unruly yard into something we love (and get a lot of compliments on!)

We so enjoyed working with Margaret! She was patient with us as we made several changes and iterations - each time she provided thoughtful recommendations and updated plans. Her plans included great detail and plant information. She was also great at taking my mom's feedback (my mom loves to garden and had strong recommendations!). Margaret had a creative way to incorporate a raised bed into seating that makes our space feel extra special and unique. The plants already give great texture and color to the space. Margaret's landscape contractors that she recommended were all professional, but Jim Hunsaker really stood out and was who we picked the job. His team was fantastic, showing up daily and working SO hard to get the project completed. They cleaned up after themselves daily (sometimes it's the small things!) and they were all great. It was a great team. We couldn't be happier with the space and the plants. We'd be happy to answer any other questions - we would jump to work with Margaret again!

Margaret has all of the qualities that you would want in a landscape architect/designer. She has strong spatial awareness. She is highly detailed. She has an excellent sense of aesthetics with her selection of materials and plants. While those are obvious traits of a landscape architect/designer of choice, Margaret's greatest strength lies in her ability to effectively listen and communicate. Her ability to transform our thoughts, desires and preferences into a striking design was greatly appreciated. I cannot recommend Margaret more than enough.

Margaret was a pleasure to work with and we are delighted with our new and improved landscaping. My husband and I had a rough vision for improvements in our front and backyard and Margaret guided us through the process. We had drainage issues in our backyard and she came up with a plan to fix the problem. After recent heavy rain we are already noticing improvement. We rearranged our rock retaining wall and added stone steps. Margaret also gave us several great options for new plants and shrubs and we are very happy with the new look! She referred us to landscape contractor who was also a pleasure to work with. We are very pleased!

From our first meeting, she was a great listener - she really heard what we had to say about what kind of plants we like, how we wanted to use our space and especially about how we are not skilled gardeners and need something we can manage! She was great about working on revisions to help us meet budget and other constraints. The resulting design was beautiful and the landscaper she recommended did a wonderful job. Margaret also was great about coming over during the landscaping to check on things, help us out with small questions and generally make sure everything turned out well. The project was completed a couple of months ago and we love it! We can tell it's going to look beautiful year round, the care and maintenance is totally reasonable and we are enjoying the space immensely.

We hired Margaret of Hayes Landscape Design Services to draft up landscape plans for our front and backyard. Our goal was to have a functional backyard for entertainment that would be visually pleasing, and to incorporate already existing structures such as two decks and a trestle and to reuse some of our other mature plants that we already had. To say that she did an amazing job would be an understatement! Our backyard is not only functional for entertaining, she also created a very visually pleasing and relaxing space for our entire family to enjoy using our existing plants and adding new ones that complemented the others. The color variation and spatial depth of the plant arrangements are so pleasing and relaxing to the eye that it literally motivates me to weed! She also added hardscape spaces to the two existing decks for more areas for entertaining, and in doing so, she created different spaces within those areas - I now have a “living room area” that invites conversations and relaxation, “dining” area where we can bbq and eat, and the smaller deck is now a little area for quietness, contemplation, or reading surrounded by potted plants. I highly recommend Margaret, not only for her talents as a Landscape Designer, but because she was easy to work with, responsive, gave referrals when asked, and has impeccable eye for detail! In fact, even though the contractor I hired to install her design offered design plans as part of their work, and whom I previously hired to design my backyard for my old home, I knew Margaret would do a better job having seen her other work. I did not regret that decision and would hire Margaret again for all my future landscaping needs!

We hired Margaret to help us completely redesign and develop plans for our backyard, which included adding a sports court. Margaret is easy to work with, extremely professional, asks really great questions and listens to her clients wants and needs. Another bonus is Margaret works for herself, so you get high quality design work for a very fair price. I would highly recommend Margaret for your Landscape design needs!

We hired Margaret of Hayes Landscape Design Services last year to draft up new landscape plans for both our front and back yard. Margaret was amazing! Not only did her designs exceed our expectations, but the thought and care she put into the entire process went above and beyond our expectations. She listened to my needs and wants and incorporated low-maintenance native plants, color, evergreens for year-round interest, layers, patterns, and functional areas for our family and kids to enjoy for years to come. I really appreciated that she also referred me to several nurseries and other contractors to purchase plants, install drip systems and pour concrete. I would hire Margaret 100 times over. The hard part will be to put her plans to use, and we just may hire her for that, too!
