John Stone has done several landscaping projects for us over the years, including putting in a irrigation system, a back patio, and completely taking out our lawn and putting in new plantings. In addition, his company provides annual shutdown and startup service for our irrigation system. John is very easy to communicate with and his crew always does excellent work. He is not the cheapest contractor out there, but as with most things, you get what you pay for.

John and his workers have been great to work with and very responsive. We have had a challenging job and they have been very helpful. I would recommend them without reservation.

We hired JP Stone to mitigate the damage caused by an unscrupulous contractor and we were extremely impressed with their professionalism and service excellence. They provided us a custom landscaping design that was executed with meticulous care, with impeccable recommendations for our lawn, trees and plant varieties with unwavering attention to detail. The work was completed efficiently and on time. Dealing with everyone involved was always a pleasure as they were always responsive to questions, concerns, and suggestions. The workmen who did the landscaping were meticulous craftsmen, and very solicitous of ours and our neighbors' privacy. After the work was completed, JP Stone remained equally committed to answering our questions and fixing any problems that arose. We intend to hire them in the future for further projects. They redid my entire irrigation system. I have quite a bit of yard (and a small house.) I live on a corner lot and have constructed 11 large raised beds filling the parking strip areas. These beds are planted with various vegetables every year. The drip system JP Stone installed provides the perfect amount of water each day on a timely and efficient schedule (no waste.) The beds on the slope and next to the house are also set up for drip. These beds are planted in perrenials and annuals. All is working nicely. I definitely recommend them. I will also hire them for future work to clean up and maintain my landscaping.

John Stone took our front yard whose steep rock walls were in avalanche state, old raggedy shrubs that were somehow both overgrown and near death, and let's face it - we had really ugly zero curb appeal. JP Stone Contractors completely rebuilt the rock walls - collaborating with us to embellish the design and create niches for a one of a kind look. He took the yard to a completely blank slate then put in an irrigation system, designed and installed a water feature, added a rock staircase, created paths, built garden boxes, put us in touch with a craftsman who incorporated the trellises we designed, and his crew planted and mulched the entire (extensive) landscape plan. We have plans to do the other side yard and backyard and will return to John Stone for those stages as well. John is a gentleman. His dry sense of humor and straight shooting conversation style make him a delight to work with. Our yard went from the ugliest eyesore in the neighborhood to one that neighbors frequently stop by and compliment.

John Stone of JP Stone Contractors not only embraced our vision, but he improved upon it! He made knowledgeable recommendations about materials to keep us within our budget. Our project was located on a very, very steep slope and involved installation of a retaining wall and slab stairs which had to be carefully placed in order to comfortably travel from the top to the bottom of the hill. John and his very experienced (and polite) crew performed excavation, installed drainage, built a large solid retaining wall carved to look like stone, installed hand laid stone walls to surround planting areas, transplanted mature shrubs and created a stunning slab stone staircase. I can't say enough good things about our experience with JP Stone Construction. Our project cost was $22,500 and was completed in November 2012.

John Stone Contractors did a great job for us in creating a beautiful landscape around our home. The rock wall was put together meticulously. They took a lot of pride in choosing and fitting the stones . Our sandstone slab patio shows beautiful workmanship. Many different landscaping materials and elements were put into our yard. After several years everything still looks beautiful, everything is level (no surprises!) and we could not be more happy with the work they did for us! John and his crew were excellent to work with. They continue to be very responsive when we call with questions or have more projects to be done.

In the summer of 2014 JP Stone Contractors, Inc, was hired to instal an underground irrigation system as well as pavers to complete a patio. The rectangle surface was well prepared, gravel compacted and pavers placed in a diagonal pattern. The installation crew was efficient, respectful and hard working. The finished product is gorgeous and is everything we expected. We are very pleased.

JP Stone did two projects for me. First was front yard re-design with new front walk and stairs, plus tear-out of old back-yard patio with new enlarged patio, pergola plantings, , sprinkler system replacement, and lighting. . Second was old concrete driveway removal, widening, re-grading and paver finish. Both were done on-time and within budget. John is very professional and easy to work with. His crew is very skillful, with excellent attention to quality and detail. I hired John 's group for ongoing yard maintenance as well, and have been very satisfied. We have received many compliments from neighbors about the final appearance of these home improvements.

JP Stone renovated my back yard. The company built a new patio and redid the landscaping. The crew was respectful and conscientious, and the work was completed in a timely fashion. Overall the results were initially positive, but we had difficulties when we reported a couple of problems with the work. First, one part of the job was to apply a stained cement topping to an old patio. It looked good at first but began to crack after several weeks. I called Stone immediately. He sent a workman who applied ugly patches to the cracks. Then they never came back to finish the repair. I have called Stone many times, he has promised to come, but he has always neglected to show up. Recently, I checked with another contractor who said it will cost us about $2000 to fix the patio. Second, he planted a beautiful Japanese Maple ( we paid $500 extra for this tree). The next spring, just beyond the 1 year guarantee date, the tree died of fusarium wilt that we suspect came in with the tree since it had a large dirt ball. John's manager said they would replace the tree; however, John Stone reversed that. I asked him if he would plant another tree and charge me a wholesale or discounted price for a new tree. He refused, saying we needed to pay full price. Eventually, we bought a tree at a nursery and planted it ourselves. I am baffled by Stone's refusal to perform simple customer service. We are enjoying our new patio, but Stone's refusal to correct the cement work and to sell us a new tree at a reasonable rate has us very discouraged and disappointed. We tried for three years to give him time to work with us, but he has refused.

JP Stone supplies landscape services for our commercial building. Services include lawn and plant maintenance and irrigation services. We are very pleased with the work being done on a continuous basis. The crews are timely and do a great job.

Everything JP Stone has done for me is wonderful. From concrete foundation walls for a fence to new drip irrigation for my lawn they have been fair in price and very timely in their service. The crew they hire are all very respectful and friendly. They do my lawn maintenance and fix anything that comes up.
