Great experience with Tiger Lily and Sareena. The backyard of our DC rowhouse had been landscaped about 15 years ago but had become overgrown and cluttered with random plantings. Sareena had a lot of ideas on how to open it up and improve it both visually and to make it easier to use the space. She designed overall landscaping, specific plantings, a new fence and also helped us with replacing the deck and the driveway. She's easy to work with, professional, and has clearly been doing this a long time and understands landscape and garden design. Highly recommend.

Sareena designed and managed a large-scale project for us, including building new fencing, deck, tall retaining walls, a permeable paver driveway, irrigation/water management, and landscaping. She was lovely to work with, attentive to our design requests, and the end result is a beautiful and functional space that is even better than we expected. She selected a very professional contractor and managed the project, including selecting materials, which was a great help in getting the many details right given the scale of the project. Sareena had a wonderfully artistic yet functional vision for our back patio & parking area. We wanted to transform the space into something a little less utilitarian and a little more whimsical and pretty, and Sareena's plan did just that! She added in some curved lines and tasteful pattern into the paver design, added just the right number of low maintenance plants and trees, understated lighting, and created a useful and lovely space. In addition to the design, we were particularly delighted by her attention to detail and her responsiveness, including following up with multiple sub-contractors and keeping us informed of all progress on a near daily basis. We were also impressed with how quickly this project was finished, including some permitting in a historic district! Working with Sareena/Tiger Lily was a pleasure and I would recommend her to anyone trying to improve their outdoor space!

I am thrilled to have found Sareena and her team at Tiger Lily Landsapes to redesign and build my new outdoor living space in back of my NE DC row house. They were wonderful to work with from start to finish. Sareena is a true visionary—I had some vague ideas, but I could not have imagined the way she transformed my small, shabby deck, broken-concrete driveway, and tiny shed into a stunning, architecturally interesting, and much more functional living space that she designed and implemented together with her highly professional, competent, and responsive construction crew. I also now have a spacious new shed! And Sareena was sensitive to my request to ensure that the feral kitties also had their living areas incorporated into the design. Tiger Lily Landscapes transformed our yard from a tired, muddy, unwelcoming space to a green, easy-to-maintain oasis. We're delighted with the work Sareena did to design our "make-over," replacing the patio, plantings, lawn, and fence in the back and modernizing the landscaping in the front. We worked with Sareena on a complete yard redesign and installation. She was incredibly patient through the design process and responsive to my very specific opinions about plants and materials, coming up with a design that was beautiful and maximized our limited yard space. I particularly appreciated that she incorporated some unusual design elements and plants in response to our requests. Sareena also effectively managed the installation, making sure all of the work was up to her standards. She was communicative and responsive through both the design and installation phases. Through a mix of texts, calls, emails, and site visits, she was in frequent contact with updates, suggestions, and proposed solutions to address the inevitable minor issues that came up. The whole experience was a very positive one, our whole family loves spending time in the yard, and we get tons of compliments on it!

We worked with Emine to design and create an entirely new backyard. She designed a wrap around flagstone patio and landscaped a sloping yard into a wilderness wonderland. It was a complicated task due to drainage/runoff issues, winter weather and Covid supply delays. Not only did Emine provide a wonderful design eye, she was the consummate professional, reliable with good communication skills thought out the project. Always willing to explain the current status, what our options and costs would be, she made sure the job was finished according to plan and on time. The pictures reflect early plantings and were taken on a rainny day, but will give you a taste of what we expect will be a garden of Eden. We are thrilled and now plan to move to the front yard! It is so wonderful to finally get rid of grass.

We enjoyed working with Tiger Lily Landscapes very much. Easy to deal with, responsive, answered all of our questions and concerns quickly. We had a very small garden to do in front of our house and wanted to incorporate a statue that we already had, add low maintenance plants and some color. Hiding the water meter and pipes were also needed. The garden turned out beautiful and really shows off our house. Looking forward to the plants growing in this spring!

Tiger Lily did a complete rebuild of my front and back yards (replaced existing deck and patio, replaced grass/weeds with sod and plants, drainage, etc.) and completed the project faster than I anticipated. I'm very pleased with the result, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Tiger Lily Landscapes did a fantastic job re-imagining our backyard. Sareena was very patient with us as the project morphed over time. What started out as simply replacing a damaged deck evolved into a major project that transformed our back yard. Ultimately we replaced an existing deck, installed a new stone seating area, significantly improved outdoor lighting and solved long term drainage issue. My wife and I used Tiger Lily to completely renovate the backyard of our NW DC townhouse. We had a garage, parking space, pergola, fence, seat wall, and patio installed. We also re-routed a water drainage line. We were really happy with Sareena's designs. All of the various options she presented for materials, landscaping and look & feel were very tasteful and aligned with what we wanted, which was a mix of modern design with more traditional landscaping. We were really happy with Sareena and her team in the execution of the project. Her team was efficient and responsive to comments and questions, and they were quick to recommend and implement alternative solutions whenever issues arose. The team was very respectful of our neighbors in terms of limiting noise, performing work during core business hours, and preventing any disturbance to our neighbors' adjacent property. Sareena is a great project manager. She maintained excellent contact throughout the project with frequent phone calls, emails and in-person visits. She is very collaborative, which shows that she really enjoys working with clients. As the industry struggled with supply chain issues during the Spring/Summer/Fall of 2021, she maintained regular contact and work suggest alternatives/work-arounds to make sure the project stayed on track. Tiger Lily Landscapes did a brilliant job building a trellis over my backyard balcony that blends perfectly with the existing design of my house. Sareena solved my long time drainage issues (no other company could figure it out) and worked diligently and efficiently to get the job done on time. Sareena has a wonderful way with clients. A stunning transformation! Working with Sareena and her team at Tiger Lily Landscapes has been an absolute pleasure. Our property required a MAJOR landscape, hardscape update and I was determined to find a true landscape architect that could handle a project of this size without making our space just another Northern Virginia “McMansion.” I spent 6 months interviewing architects. We recently used Tiger Lily Landscapes to develop a landscape design and implement it at our home for several different areas on the property. It was an enhancement of existing landscaping that needed additions of color and refreshing. The design phase was easy with ample opportunity for personal input and preferences as to colors and plants. We had a deadline that was important for completion and it was met. We did some follow-up ampification of the original design and that was completed in a timely manner as well. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and the professionaism exhibited by the design professional. I would, and already have, recommended Tiger Lily Landscapes to several of our friends seeking landscape assistance.

Sareena is a gifted designer; she and her team have been a pleasure to work with. During our first meeting, she quickly scoped out and explained her vision for building a low, curving wet stack wall along a portion of our backyard -- designed to offer a meditative corner of our yard and carve out a space for a fire pit along the curvature of the wall. I confess that it was hard to see how our boring backyard was going to be transformed in these ways, but I'm so glad we trusted Sareena and her thoughtful plan. The finished work is outstanding: the design and craftsmanship are beautiful (lovely details from the type of stone used for the wall and matching it to the firepit, to the cut of the brick along the flagstone patio, and the placement of steppers) and we love spending time outside together. Sareena's design wove together her artistic vision with our input and requests; Sareena took into account everything from our desires to preserve greenspace to kick a soccer ball (without fear of destroying fragile plantings) to the colors / types of flowers we wanted. It's obvious that Sareena takes tremendous pride in her work, and we've appreciated her follow up and thoughtfulness in response to questions and offering advice on how to help the plants thrive. We're very much enjoying the process of watching the flowers / trees bloom this spring and summer -- and we're looking forward to the colors changing in the fall.

We love our new yard. We live in a DC row house. Our small yard is designed without grass with a variety of blooming plants. Emine’s knowledge of plants is top notch and her team are real pros.

We hired Emine and her team at Tiger Lily Landscaping LLC to assist us with a large hardscaping project in our backyard and landscaping for our front yard. We have a small rowhome in NW DC and the backyard was completely ineffective for our needs - we had old, sloped concrete that made parking a car nearly impossible and a small concrete pad on the side that made for a lackluster outdoor area. We knew we wanted to redo the concrete to make it easier to park our car, and spruce up the old concrete pad to create a nice, even if small, outdoor space. However, the angles and spacing made it very difficult for us to see how that area could ever be transformed to anything workable. Enter Emine and her team: she solved our tricky design issues, proposing a design plan that exceeded all of our expectations! She coordinated a group of contractors who demo'd our concrete in a short amount of time (which our neighbors were grateful for), poured brand new concrete for a bigger parking space, and transformed our small side concrete pad to a workable patio by maximizing the space and laying down beautiful stone tiles and building a privacy fence. The end product was absolutely stunning and we now have a parking space AND outdoor patio we use regularly and are so comfortable with. She also spruced up the landscaping in our front yard, enhancing the curb appeal of our home. Emine and everyone who worked on the project were supremely professional and courteous, with a tremendous eye for detail. All in all, if you want beautiful hardscaping and/or landscaping work done on your home, we cannot recommend Tiger Lily Landscaping enough!

I cannot recommend Sareena and her team enough. I have been meaning to write this review for some time, especially as we spend more and more time in our outdoor spaces these days! Sareena and her team were such a pleasure to work with and completely transformed both our backyard and front yard with drainage work, masonry, and landscaping. I loved working with Tiger Lily to update the outdated look of my DC rowhouse front yard. The design consultation was great to be able to visualize my options, and they were very accommodating with changes I made along the way. As evidence for how much they care about their finished product and clients, they re-arranged their schedule last minute to be onsite to help fix an area that was damaged due to a gas line issue with the city. Emine was given the task of planning and planting two sides of the fence in the backyard as she worked around existing plants. She and her crew worked quickly and efficiently. We used Tiger Lily for a large hardscaping and landscaping project in our backyard. It was a very enjoyable experience. The work looks great and the workers were very considerate and polite. Sareena oversaw things carefully and was flexible in quickly changing project details to adapt to issues that sprang up. She was particularly careful about drainage issues with our patio and our privacy screening needs. We have used other talented landscape architects in the past where they do a plan and help coordinate bids from various subcontractors. Tiger Lily is a one stop shop and it is a much easier experience. There was a very high degree of accountability, timeliness, and follow-through, with emails answered immediately at night and on weekends. We were so impressed that we are advancing plans for a second stage of work on an additional area and doing it with Tiger Lily. We have no hesitation providing a strong recommendation to family and friends (and have already).

I hired Tiger Lily Landscapes to help me think through a landscape design for my DC row house. The front "yard" was nothing more than a pile of sawdust with a parking spot for our trash cans. Emine quickly pulled together a fantastic design that matched my vision for the space and worked with me to incorporate more native plants when I asked. To set the scene: We have lived in our AU house for 20 years, and had never given the front yard much attention, and in the last few years it was reflecting the neglect. From bad grass to uneven slopes to a cracked path (with no railing) to uneven bushes, and so on. With my brothers coming for a rare DC Thanksgiving, we got motivated to fix the fiasco of a welcome. Tiger Lily has made us happy with our front yard, and neighbors are now frequently walking past and telling us how much they love the yard. Three reasons we are so happy with using Tiger Lily: (1) the new design plays off the best parts and vibe of the house (e.g., the modern front door) in creative and sympathetic ways, ways that both solve landscape issues (e.g., stone wall around a large tree that is visually connected to a boulder across the yard) and enhances standard pieces (e.g., blue stone front path that subtly plays off the door windows), all while carefully listening to our preferences/priorities; (2) the work got done by a team that was focused, careful, neat, and timely (i.e., done before Thanksgiving!) and (3) communication throughout the project was clear, direct, and honest (e.g., advice for dealing with neighbors, how to deal with future neglect). The more ambitious your contemplated project, the more likely Tiger Lily will be the best decision you can make.

Tiger Lily has been absolutely wonderful to work with. They landscaped our front yard and transformed it. Six months later we hired them again, this time to rebuild our deck. They are extremely responsive and very efficient. I could not believe how quickly they rebuilt our deck. They far surpassed our expectations for design, quality, safety, and speed. In the few cases that we had slight changes, they were easy to reach on a daily basis, and very fast to implement them. Emine is so friendly and her team is just wonderful - our neighbors loved them! First of all, I really love how the garden turns out. Also a lot of people walking by and told me. Secondly, Emine understood exactly what I wanted, and came up with a very nice plan with a few times adjustment. Third, each team worked very efficiently; 3 days for the garden + 1.5 days for the irrigation + 1 day for lighting + 1 day for electricity. Highly recommended!

Tiger Lily came in with the most competitive bid for a full backyard landscape job and we were very pleased with the outcome. They provided us color designs and a very detailed scope of work which they followed. The job included taking out a gravel driveway, leveling the yard including excavation, installing sod and lots of plants and building a beautiful stone retaining wall. They were very responsive by email and phone, checked in regularly and always kept us apprised of any changes to the work schedule. We are very pleased with the finished yard and would highly recommend them.

Emine and Tiger Lily did a great job planning and executing new plantings for the very late fall. They also did an absolutely wonderful job on clean up and mulching, mobilizing a team of many workers so the job was done in just a few hours. I love my (relatively small) garden, but it needed a serious refresh after my having been away for five years. She truly touched my heart when her first reaction on looking at my garden was that she wanted to create something exquisite in each part.... and she truly did it. Her choice of plant materials is beautiful, not only with respect to season, heights, and textures but she adds a love of fragrance to the garden. We've also had an unusually challenging wet year and, although that wasn't Sareena's fault, she has been with me each step of the way and is honoring her one year guarantee. On top of all of that, she has been frugal in costs compared to another designer I interviewed. I wholeheartedly recommend Tigerlily Landscapes!!

Sareena is a very nice person but I am very disappointed in the provided hardscaping design. It was 4 weeks late so now I am behind with completing the project in my preferred timeframe. The actual design was not well thought through. Sareena forgot some things that I asked for during our initial meeting. Samples of materials were not provided as promised. Although the design fee of $285 is not high but for the information received for that is a total waste. The project is about $30k in labor and materials. I am going with a different company that has given me a sound and competitive proposal covering all the technical isssues and my lifestyle requests in a timely manner.

We first contacted Sareena Jerath at Tiger Lily Landscapes in 2016 to help us improve the appearance of our front and back landscaping, and then again in 2017 for additional plantings around our home. Sareena is great to work with - she is very professional, offers detailed ideas and plans for a variety of options, and carefully considers her clients' needs and preferences. The result for us has been highly satisfactory - a great improvement in the appearance of our home - and we plan to work with her again this year. Highly recommended!

After speaking with several landscape architects about our project, we selected Sareena and Tiger Lily to create a new side garden retreat to connect with a recently renovated kitchen through new French doors. At the same time, we asked Sareena to edit and re-work the existing landscaping in the front of our house to flow better with the new side yard retreat as well as to rework an existing deck and kitchen herb garden at the back of the house to do so as well. The result is a beautiful space that flows seamlessly from front to back with carefully selected plants, a renovated deck, cleaned and repaired hardscaping, and an enchanting private retreat off the new kitchen. Sareena and her team are extremely easy to work with, highly efficient and cost effective. I loved the way she offered design suggestions with visual images (not the standard drawings) that made it easy to see what the finished space -- house and yard together -- would look like. Working with Sereena was a pleasure! She actually LISTENED to what I wanted; drew up plans that took into account my lack of time to care for fussy landscapes as swell as my desire to ‘play’ in the garden when I had time; made great recommendations for trees, grasses, and perennial flowers which I still love, two years later, both summer and winter; incorporated perennials I already had, sometimes moving them; worked with excellent fence and irrigation subcontractors, and when there was a problem with any work (in my case, the ‘window’ on a fence gate), she not only backed me up, but instantly agreed with me and got it redone. When I had the ‘yard-warming’ party, Sareena was an honored guest, getting accolades from family and friends. She transformed my side yards and patio area, and added more equity to my property than I put into the project. After the job they did on the back and side yards, I’ll be using Sareena and her crew at Tiger Lilly to transform the front yard soon!

We live in a row house in DC with a relatively small front and side yard (garden) that is sloped. After moving in three years ago and renovating the house, we recently turned to making our yard more user friendly and attractive. In addition to being sloped, the yard was overgrown with no overarching landscape design. Sareena was extremely professional, friendly, and easy to work with. We told her what we wanted and then worked together to refine the plan. She gave us great ideas about how to maximize our space and which plants would provide privacy and color, but were also easy to care for. Tiger Lily leveled much of our yard and installed a patio where we will (finally!) sit outside. Instead of a gradual earthen slope, which was difficult to walk on, we now have a large main level (patio) and then stone stairs leading to a lower level and path to the rear of our house. Sareena worked closely with us on adapting the design to meet our budget as well as advising us on where it made the most sense to spend our money and where we could save. She responded quickly if we had any questions. The landscapers who did the work were friendly, professional and tidy. The entire project was completed within a couple of weeks. Tiger Lily provided us with hardscape (patio, retaining wall, stairs), lighting installation (we bought lights based on Sareena's recommendations), drainage, and landscaping. Sareena also gave us advice on how take care of our plants over time. Overall, it was a great experience - easy and fast from our point of view. We've already received several compliments from neighbors. I very much enjoyed working with Sareena and her team and highly recommend Tiger Lily.

After contacting more than a dozen contractors to totally redo my front yard with hardscaping and landscaping, Tiger Lily was one of the two who responded quickly. From the beginning, Sareena and team were responsive throughout. The project took much longer from design to completion because of problems with the DC DOT permitting delays. Once those were worked out, the actual time of the project was two weeks. They dismantled the old wall, path, stairs, landscaping, a misplaced and overgrown cherry tree, and reused some of the plants I already have, to save a bit of money. The build included putting in a new retaining wall, stairs from sidewalk and to my porch, new stairs, cladding my porch in stone, and landscaping. This was not a cheap job. However, a competing bid confirmed that the pricing was in line with other contractors.

We undertook a major hardscape and landscape project four years ago, all designed by Sareena. She brought a number of thoughtful and lovely elements to the plan, including sweeping low stone walls that have created terraces for flowers and decorative trees. We have subsequently used Sareena and her excellent landscape crew, run by Carlos, for updating, some new plantings, mulching and pruning and clean up. The work has been done to a very high standard. Sareena is a pleasure to work with - attentive, cooperative and very responsive. We recommend her very highly.

Sareena and her team did amazing rejuvenation of my back patio space. My main objectives were to clean up a space that had become overgrown and create a relaxing and easy-to-maintain environment for reading and entertaining. Tiger Lily Landscapes tamed our frontyard "hill" with both hardscape and landscape. Sareena, landscape designer, listened to our ideas and wishes and presented a well thought out design within our established budget. Her creative ideas made the project. The masonry team was amazing and very respectful of our property and the neighbors. The old sidewalk was demolished and taken away immediately as was all the rubbish. The sod was replaced after the irrigation installation and you cannot even tell today that there is an efficient watering system. The new, wider walkway is great access to a front patio with seat wall. Urban gardeners -- wait till you see how Sareena incorporated tomatoes, strawberries, herbs, and even lined the walkway with rhubarb! Fabulous and all great to eat. Her seat wall is the gathering place for the neighborhood and we have a perfect view of the new landscape and the tamed hill! Pictures to follow!
