Avalon NW spent 2 1/2 months at our house replacing two large decks (removal, new concrete footings, new posts and joists, and Trex) and removing concrete walkways and a patio and replacing them with quartzite stone. They also moved and replanted a 5' tall Japanese maple and another large shrub. Kevin worked with us from the beginning, explaining what would be done and making sure the patio and walkways followed the outline we had in mind. He built stone steps and a basalt retaining wall alongside one stairway. The crew were extremely knowledgeable and competent, handling all aspects of the landscape project professionally and capably and leaving the property clean every day. They answered our questions with remarkable patience. The crew were also very considerate and accommodating to our needs to access the house and carport when the work obstructed our entryways. In the 35+ years we have owned our house, this company is one of the best contractors we have ever had work here. We recommend them without hesitation.

I cannot speak highly enough of Avalon Northwest! They installed a large stone patio for me on a difficult piece of ground (a slope between my house and garage), and I am thrilled with the result. Communication with both management and workers was prompt, clear and helpful, at every stage of the process from design to completion. As for construction, it was a pleasure to watch such outstanding craftsmen at work. They were meticulous, too, in protecting my plants where the garden abuts on the patio. Overall I was thoroughly impressed with their skill, professionalism, and courtesy. Avalon has my highest recommendation.

We had an outstanding experience working with Avalon NW, and I would recommend them without hesitation. They completed a hardscaping and landscaping project that involved our entire exterior space including building a custom 50 foot raw steel retaining wall that Kevin designed. We've had Avalon complete several large projects for us in recent years and they totally hit it out of the park each time. We love their craftsmanship, attention to detail, communication, and focus on client satisfaction. The crew was very creative at solving problems, seemed to just get stuff done no matter what we threw at them, and the end products look amazing. We constantly have passers by complimenting our front yard, and our friends and family can't spend enough time in the backyard with BBQ, patio, and hot tub. These guys are the best!

Kevin and the Avalon NW team are a rare find. We hired them to do a complete rebuild of our front, back, and side yards with custom stonework, pergola, etc. Their work and craftsmanship are top notch but the experience of working with Avalon goes well beyond the visual results. Kevin is the most transparent contractor I've ever worked with and the whole experience was shockingly stress-free. From the first conversation we had with him, throughout project prep, and finishing tweaks, he did exactly what he said he would do, on time and on budget. He was happy to entertain all of our questions and helped steer us through the trade-offs when we needed to make a few changes to the original plan. This spring he showed up unannounced to check to see how everything was faring and fixed several minor issues that cropped up during the winter. We love our new yard and cannot recommend Kevin, Jeremy, and Fraser highly enough.

We had a wonderful experience using Avalon NW from the first time I walked up to "some guy at his truck" (turned out to be Jeremy) over a year prior to ask about their services as they were finishing up a neighbor's beautiful landscaping job - Jeremy was so friendly and personable and chatted a bit and gave me their card. From planning to finish Kevin was the consummate professional, filled with really great ideas, is highly specific and detailed, and is a fantastic communicator. We always knew exactly where things stood from both a timeline and budget perspective. This also extended to his crew and how he treats them - he is just a quality human, they all are. During the actual construction it was primarily Jeremy and Fraser who were there putting in the hours and they were so terrific to work with. When it came to implementing some design elements (deck shape, or privacy fencing for example) they would start and then knock on the door and check in to give us an opportunity to view and make any possible changes before the point of no return. They did hardscaping, landscaping, sprinkler system and lighting. I cannot recommend Avalon NW highly enough.

Avalon NW is truly superb. We had them do a complete remodel of our outside. The work included the demo of an old porch, removal and replacement of old rotting columns supporting our roof, installment of a steel retaining wall, tree removal, rebuilding the front porch, adding a deck to an ancient garage, fencing, installing irrigation, installing turf and sod, rock work, planting, and installing outdoor lighting. The work was very high quality, the communication throughout the project was tremendous, and potentially the best part of it all, the team was a joy to have around. Having Avalon NW in our yard daily for 4-months was an unexpected joy. Kevin and his team of Jeremy and Fraser are the nicest, most skilled, hardest working, and most accommodating humans you could ever find. We were sad to see them go while being overjoyed to have the yard so wonderful when complete. We cannot recommend a team more!

I have literally lost track of how many projects the great guys at Avalon NW have done for us at our home over the years. We have a 1907 Craftsman in Queen Anne and Avalon has done everything to help us make our home special. Rock walls, bluestone patios, iron firepits, unique fencing, ornamental lighting, ipe decks, sprinkler systems and even an outdoor kitchen: there is nothing they can't help you with. Not only are they great at the execution, they can design or help improve upon your ideas. Kevin, Jeremy and Fraser are awesome people to work with as they listen to your wants, stay on budget and get the work done on time. We will keep inviting them back.

These guys are the best. Period. We hired Avalon to revamp our front and side yard, put up a fence, and rebuild a covered deck attached to the house. Kevin, the owner, is an honest, reliable and communicative guy. From bid to finish, he was a pleasure to work with. His team is also top notch - Jeremy and the crew have great attention to detail and commitment to their craft. We had a few quirks left over from a prior remodel and Jeremy was a master craftsmen in dealing with challenges left by the prior contractor. All aspects of their work was high quality, done well and with great care from the cedar fence to the Ipe deck to the concrete walkway and all the plants in between (by they way, they are the best tree trimmers we've ever hired too, and that's not even their forte). In addition to being high quality, Avalon is the most professional contractor in the game (and I've hired several). These guys are where they say they will be when they say they'll be there. And sometimes they are even there when they don't say they'll be there - After our project was completed we had a few boxwoods (those are plants, don't worry, I didn't know what they were either) that wouldn't take and Avalon noticed on a drive-by (rooting, not shooting) and simply replaced them without telling us. We did a house remodel the year before we hired Avalon and went with the low-cost bid on that project, regretting it. In looking for someone to do our yard, we were committed to not repeating that mistake. You get what you pay for and Avalon is worth every penny. Bonus: Jeremy is really good with kids. Our two-year-old son loved watching him work through the window. He might look like Jeremiah Johnson, but don't worry, he's really a big teddy bear.

Kevin, Jeremy, and the whole team did an amazing job. One thing to note is that they don't paint or stain, so you'll have to find someone else for that. They will take care of most anything else you need though. They built a beautiful stone retaining wall, steel planters, small fence, and a trellis. The lighting, irrigation, drainage, and other details were taken care of expertly. The concrete looks great, and everything was done in a careful and detail-oriented way. If you want your landscaping done right, go with Avalon NW.
