Gibson lighting is a treasure to any designer or home owner who is lucky enough to find them! There is nothing they can't do when it comes to lighting. They have done custom lanterns for me as well as make missing wood parts for od chandeliers. They are proffessional in all they do and finish projects in a tomely manner. Not to mention I love to browse the shop and get inspired by the old lights they have there!

Jiml at Gibson Lighting is not only highly skilled and professional, but creative and able to create unique custom fixtures. The shop is wonderful to visit, full of vintage fixtures and lighting and Jim is friendly and helpful. We are in the process of building a custom home and Jim has rewired and created a few custom fixtures for us. We have been very pleased with the quality of work and timely completion. We will be using Gibson Lighting for all of our custom lighting needs.

We have worked with Jim Gibson and his talented shop for almost twenty years. He has done everything for us, from changing European lamps to American standard, rewiring and refinishing antiques, recasting to match a fixture, to helping us find cryptic lamp shades. No request is too strange. He has just completed reworking all French lamps to city specs for our new restaurant. His craftsmanship will be a main attraction in our Crêperie. His is the kind of old world craftsmanship we love and look for.

The stuff Jim Gibson produces out of his small space in Chula Vista is simply stunning. He is a master craftsman with exceptional taste. His sense of what is appropriate lighting for a given space and design is an added gift. Absolutely the easiest to work with.

Gibson & Gibson lighting was recommended to me by Scott White Gallery. I recently purchased a 1913 Historic Home in Mission Hills, CA with a large, covered front porch and adjacent covered car port. The previous owners had removed and discarded the elegant original, yet deteriorated and unsafe, ceiling-mounted light fixtures from the porch and car port and replaced them with non-period simple fixtures. As a young boy, I had seen the original fixtures so, I had a sense of the size, dimensions and style. With the assistance of a professional designer and Jim Gibson's direction, we created a schematic drawing of the new fixtures and then passed them to Jim Gibson. In less than two weeks, Jim's team was able to fabricate and deliver two beautiful, wire-ready lighting fixtures that we immediately installed and have been receiving complements on for months. Gibson & Gibson Lighting is an outstanding professional organization.

Jim and his team are a diamond in the rough. Amazing and laid back to work with and the finished products are always perfection!! This is where you go to find the unique pieces you are looking for and can trust you are in good hands. San Diego is lucky to have him.

I first met Jim at Gibson Lighting as a design student back in the early 90's. I was lucky enough to be working on the student portion of and ASID Showcase house. Jim was referred to our group as one of the suppliers available who had offered his services. I knew immediately that I would have a long standing relationship with Jim from the get go. Superb creative ability combined with the best in craftsmanship and ethics he has proven himself time and time again. Over the years Gibson Lighting has aided me in finishing out my projects with some rather sublime custom lighting whose parts and pieces have included custom hand blown glass, nylon rope, custom colored glass discs (pictured), silver plated chain, polished stainless steel elements. What Gibson can do is only limited by my imagination. I have had Jim and his team rework purchased and client owned fixtures (pictured); create custom canopies; re-imagine handfuls of fixtures (pictured) I have had sent to him and create awesome one of a kind pieces. At the complete opposite end of the spectrum Jim has utilized parts and pieces from his collection of 'goods' to create vintage looking light fixtures for projects that warrant such. For the kind of work Gibson Lighting does I could recommend no better.

We are doing a complete remodel on our home and were looking for a unique well designed fixture to be a focal point in our dining area. Gibson lighting was recommended by a friend and interior designer. Our experience was great from concept through completion. We highly recommend this professional.

Over the past fifteen years, Jim Gibson has helped me with the lighting on several of my homes and rental properties.
