I am shopping for outside lights for my home and want quality lights for a reasonable price. I did some research online to see who had the best reviews that wasn’t a big box store. Been there, done that! We bought some at HD and they have not lasted at all well. Anyway my research lead me to Lightstyles in Costa Mesa, CA. From the minute I walked in, I was impressed with the customer service. I found out my salesman was actually the store manager. He showed me what was available and nothing fit exactly as we live close to the beach and want something that will withstand the salt air. The manager said he is going to research more options and will get back to me soon. I will update this review once I see what I end up with. So far I am rating my experience at 5 stars out of 5.

What a wonderful showroom and excellent help from Sandra Khorram (Costa Mesa location). She assisted us as we selected 2 ceiling mounted vanity lights! So many options! She also gave great advice on which light bulbs to use and reminded us of electrical code issues. Highly recommend Lightstyles! So happy to know it is there!

THE BEST lighting consultant/contractors around! Melvyn, Debbie and the rest of the Lightstyles team are incredibly passionate towards their industry thus are ALWAYS on the cutting edge of light design and technology. They not only assisted us in handpicking every fixture, grazer, pendant, etc. for our 6500+sf house, but helped in the overall electrical design insuring real world application and construction went seamlessly. We just finished building a home in Newport Beach, California. Melvin and Leslie from Lifestyles/ Light Bulbs, Etc. did a sensational job with the pre-construction, procurement and installation management. The design was incredibly creative and their cutting edge technology minimized our electrical footprint. They were always available to help with any questions we had throughout the process. They made our selection process a joy, and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We have used Light Bulbs Etc for the last 7 to 9 years for our lighting and ceiling fan needs. It's a great place to find unique lights and fans. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Janna was our sales person this time around. She helped sort through the hundreds of different styles of lights until we found the ones we ordered. We also ordered two different styles of Casablanca fans for our home. One of which was a new model, the Aya. It was in the catalog, but wasn't release for sale. It took us months to get the Aya fans, but Janna hung in there. She gave us updates via email or phone calls, suggested alternative fans, and kept in contact with the vendor about delivery dates. I could not have asked for better service. Janna, thanks for all your help.

Lightstyles, Melvyn, Leslie and the entire staff have been absolutely incredible to work with on our 7,500 sq foot Hawaiian themed remodel. From the early planning stages to completion and LED color selection Melvyn has been passionate and dedicated about his craft. I had a few "musts"....the most important was that I didn't want to see ANY intense light sources. Only the proper illumination and glow throughout. Their knowledge of lighting, light placement, what effects would be created, the selection of both fixtures and times and the unending positive attitude throughout this 3 year project was exceptional. These guys know their stuff and have the experience and large staff to back them up. Thanks guys....an incredible result!

I worked with Adam Hughlett, in the Costa Mesa showroom, on sourcing light fixtures for my house. I was 9 months pregnant and my house was under construction. Adam was a dependable resource for me. He answered all of my questions (I have a lot of them), made sure that my order was ready when I picked it up, and was extremely responsive via email and phone. In addition, Light Bulbs Etc. had everything I needed in stock or was able to get it within a day or so. Anything that was ordered came exactly when Adam said it would. This was extremely refreshing in the midst of construction delay after delay. I will work with Adam in the future for all of my lighting needs!

I have a split level two story open concept home with a vaulted ceiling over the interior entry way, living room, and dining room. During a recent remodel, lighting became a challenge because of the fifteen-foot-high ceiling in some places and lower than normal ceilings in a long hallway and in the kitchen and breakfast room. My general contractor directed me to Lightstyles/Light Bulbs Etc., where I worked with a lighting specialist who came to my home to get a firsthand idea of what might be done. After touring my home, he took with him floor plans for developing an overall lighting configuration. Incredible! All the lighting is warm, efficient, and long-lasting LED inside and outside. There is built in, ceiling flush accent lighting for the focal points inside and outside the home, built in ceiling flush lights in all the interior rooms, wall mounted rail lighting for reading (where the ceiling is too high), and vaulted ceiling mounted hanging rail lighting over the dining room table. In the hallway and breakfast area where the ceiling is lower than normal, there is amazing ceiling flush mounted stripe lighting. The overall lighting throughout the home appears coordinated, very complimentary and absolutely lovely!

Lightbulbs etc is a fabulous resource in Orange County for lighting because of the hands-on experience in their showroom and expertise of their staff. I work with “Alex” there all the time and she is especially knowledgeable, exceptionally professional, and always tries her best to find lighting solutions that meet my deadlines.

Based on a recommendation, we went to Lightstyles / Light Bulbs Etc. to look for light fixtures for our new home. While we were looking around, we met Janna who is very helpful. Janna listened to us and started determining what we wanted in light fixtures. She showed us various fixtures and narrowed down the vast number of light fixtures on display to allow us to choose from a smaller selection that matched our taste. Although everyone in the store seems friendly, Janna made our selection easier. We ended up buying a couple wall mounted lights, three pendants for over the kitchen counter, a light fixture called "The Wave" for the dining room and a couple outdoor lights. Janna made the process enjoyable and easy.

Great selection of lighting styles and designs. We've been back several times and always seem to find something new to consider. The quality of lighting is only exceeded by the knowledgeable sales staff and management personnel who saw to our every need in a very professional manner. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I had spectacular service from the time I walked into the Light Bulbs Etc store. The Design Professional helped find the perfect light fixture in a very short time. Delivery was exactly when indicated. Also, the installation team was amazing!! A Plus Electric (Luis Olmos) provided the best service I have ever had in my home.

Our experience with Light Bulbs Etc, was very pleasant and as potential customers we were greeted respectfully and after we stated our purpose to look around first, the staff respected our privacy. They let us explore the many beautiful styles of lighting and hen we came across the Gorgeous, unique MOMA-style modern contemporary lighting fixture, we sought help from Staff Person, Martin Morales. Questions, pictures,price print-outs,installation, was discussed . After several days of discussion, my companion and I made the decision to purchase the gorgeous lighting work of art fixture for the dining area. These pictures taken after the installation showcases this particular very modern light fixture which is very functional, aesthetically pleasing, and the pleasure it brings to us and to those who have experienced being enveloped by its' warmth and elegance.

I am a professional landscape lighting contractor and have been working with Light Bulbs Etc. Lifestyles for the last 4-5 years and have had nothing but Great experiences working with everyone of their sales associates. Each person behind the counter cares about their job and the customers that constantly come in. They are not pushy and will help you with whatever type of project or need that you have great or small. Being a reseller they have worked out special pricing for items that I use the most. Out of all of the vendors that I work with for various products that we use, this company definitely stands out and deserves five stars!

Light Bulbs Etc has the best selection around. It has something for all tastes and budgets from high to low. They have a very nice showroom with oodles to look at. They keep their inventory updated too. They have a well trained, helpful staff. If you don't find what you are looking for they have all the latest catalogs to peruse.

They provided design, layout and products which made this portion of our home remodel very easy, effective, attractive and the design services were free. The products selected and provided were high quality and at reasonable prices. Their service was constant and they moved quickly to correct any errors, which is always a blessing. We took our house down to the studs and did a full remodel. Our contractor referred us to Light Bulbs, Etc. Going to meet with Melvyn at Light Bulbs, Etc. was the best thing we could of done! Our house would not be as stunning as it is now had we not had the proper lighting plan and materials that were suggested by Melvyn. Melvyn is a true professional and extrememly nice and easy to work with. Loved all the knowledge we gained from him and it was worth every minute and every penny spent there. His assistant, Lesya, was also an extremely nice person to work with and was always there when we needed her. They followed the project through to the end. Their products are of good quality and pricing is reasonable. Loved our experience with them!

I have been working with Light Bulbs Etc. for over 10 years on residential projects for my clients. The showroom is well-stocked with interesting, state of the art fixtures, many of which are value priced. I can always count on the showroom to display the latest and most current information and products on the lighting regulations and codes for the state of California. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, hard working and great fun! Customer service is key! I worked on a large residential project last year which included a custom fixture for a grand foyer. This very large and wonderful fixture included working with the manufacturer's rep, custom details, and scaled drawings. When it arrived, it was perfect and it now proudly hangs for the world to see--and see it they do, as it has a jaw-dropping presence in this marvelous home.

Melvin worked with us in developing a light plan for our new-build home in Newport Beach. We started with Lightbulbs Etc. at the beginning of our project and couldn't have been happier. The consultations were onsite at our home and at the Lightbulbs Etc. on Newport Blvd. They were easy to work with, extremely knowledgeable about which fixtures to use and how many. We decided upon a Lutron System and have been very pleased with the choice. Best of all in our closets, we can tell the navy blue from the black!

We have been coming to LBE ever since our son referred us here, nearly a decade ago, for their great and extensive selection of lighting options. We had the good fortune of meeting, and subsequently working with, owner Melvyn Kahn. He is multiply licensed/certified/degreed (not sure of the correct vernacular) in lighting design, and has a vast knowledge of all things light related. Despite having gone through a major remodel on our home BEFORE coming to LBE, Melvyn was able to correctly guide us through refitting and correcting lighting problems we had, mostly as a result of poor design and inadequate knowledge on the part of our contractor. Going forward, and when anyones asks for recommendations, I ALWAYS refer them to LBE, and to go there BEFORE they proceed with construction. Likewise, I go to LBE for EVERYTHING, including bulbs. WE have subsequently been served by many of the crew at LBE, and with their system of keeping all purchases in their computer, they are readily able to address future needs in bulbs, replacements, etc. We are thrilled to be able to recommend LBE and do so without reservation. It is your one-stop shop for ALL things lighting, but you WILL keep returning for any future needs!

I have been a HAPPY customer for a number of years. I think the selection and pricing that Lightstyles/Light Bulbs Etc offers is the BEST in Southern California! All of the staff are so knowledgeable and helpful. Have purchased many light fixtures from the store in Orange. They have knowledgable sales persons. Have worked with David and Carol. Carol has helped custom design a light fixture to be used in our background combining different manufacturers and offering do it yourself installation techniques. Definitely will go back when we remodel the kitchen as lighting a room correctly is the finishing touch and makes any room look better.

This store is incredible. We purchased a beautiful chandelier from a lighting store in Los Angeles that was over $700.00. It stopped working after about 3 months. We called the store and they contacted the manufacturer. They would do nothing for us except told us it needed a part that was $80.00. The part did not work. We just assumed we would have to purchase another chandelier My husband went into Light bulb Etc on Newport Blvd to purchase some light bulbs we needed and started talking to one of the salesman. He told him what happened to us. It turned out that the man my husband was talking to was one of the owners. He carried the same chandelier we had and he explained that their was a problem with that particular light and the manufacture has since fixed it. He offered to call the manufacturer and talk to them. Because he purchase's so many of their lights he thought they might do something for us. We received a call a couple of days ago from Light Bulbs Etc telling us our new light was in. I couldn't believe it. We didn't even buy it from them and he went to so much trouble to get us an new light. I'm sold on this company. You will find an incredible selection of every kind of light you could ever imagine. I was remodeling two bathrooms as well as looking for a new entry hall chandelier - which I had been searching for for YEARS. I had used them for lighting for my kitchen remodel and they were knowlegable and well priced. I started out working with the owner who offered to superimpose a picture of a fixture I was considering in a photo of my entry hall. That did the trick! I then began to work with Casey Porciuncula for the bathroom fixtures. She has the patience of a saint and great ideas. Now I am working on the powder room and am happy to work with Casey and Lightbulbs Etc again.

Very impressed with this store and staff! Their display is extensive and carries a wide range of prices and styles. We worked mainly with David Rapay who solved multiple lighting problems that came up during an overly ambitious renovation project. He sat with us in the store for hours to plan out recessed can trims, bulbs and filters - and then remembered each of the can locations and product decisions when questions came up later. He recommended specialized bulbs for wall fixtures with unusual locations and saved us money with less expensive specialized lighting options in other locations. Everyone in the store is friendly, competent and professional. This store was a real find, recommended by our contractor.
