When they promise you 100% Hunter Douglas blackouts, light will still come in - see attached picture. 100% means no light and when I complained there is still light they said that's still 100%. Besides insulting my intelligence this company also insulted me on a personal level. I am super sensitive to light and when I asked for 3 days to get a chance to sleep with these to see how it goes they said it's non refundable and gave me only two options: take them as is or have them immediately removed. I asked them to remove them immediately if that's the case but I had a doctors appointment (I am 10 days post surgery and could not skip that doctor's appointment). They then told the installer not to leave the apartment and proceeded to call the cops saying this was an indication that I didn't want to pay (even though they had my debit card and I had already paid 50%). I was forced to sign that I was happy with this purchase so I could go to the doctor. Besides being a shady company they are also shady people who blackmail you when you are in a vulnerable position. I do not recommend them or at least I do not recommend you believe them when they say 100% blackout.

I just used NY City Blinds for my new medical office. I was going to order blinds but the company recommended shades and it was an excellent choice. They look fabulous. I was on a tight timeline and the products arrived much sooner than expected. Thank you.

From start to finish, this process was SO easy, pleasant, and satisfactory! Roei came to measure and helped give three different options for how to create my perfectly (and extremely!) darkened room. I have a lot of trouble sleeping with any bits of light coming through... I also was in a bit of a time crunch! Two weeks later, Roei and his team were able to install the blinds - I couldn't believe it, but their estimate on time was accurate AND so fast! Rob came to do the installation and he was equally quick, efficient, and kind. The blinds are perfect -- they look nice opened, they look nice closed, and they really block the light!!! I would recommend NY City Blinds in a heartbeat! I'll try to add photos later...

I had the salesman come to my apartment to show me some bamboo shades. I wanted blackout shades for my bedroom. I mentioned that I liked the type that go down from the top and up at the bottom. I ordered a shade from the samples he had that I thought would look nice. The salesman never told me that the bamboo shade I was getting would not go down at the top. He also measured the windows, but when the shades were installed, the top where the so-called valence is (it's more like a flap), is so tight against the side of the window that I have to punch or yank it out when I want to get under it. I need to remove the blinds to paint the walls that frame the inside of my windows, and the blinds are impossible to get down, because the measurement is incorrect at the top. I also hate the way the blinds look. I wish I had been told more about what I was getting. I take most of the blame for that because I should have done my homework. The point is that I paid over $1100 dollars for two window treatments that I can't stand to look at. If I had known that the shades I was getting could not go down at the top, I would not have gotten them and I would have gotten something more decorative. This is just a warning to anyone buying shades or blinds. Do your research and know what is available so that you can speak with some authority. In my case, the salesman was a very nice young man. I'm not faulting his demeanor at all, but I needed more information and was not sure about all of my options and would have like more help. As it stands now, I will probably have to replace these shades, but this time I will order online and pay a fraction of the cost. I still have seven other windows that need treatments.

I have NEVER had such bad service and poor quality from ANY service professional
The first set of shades was a cheaply made black out blink which did not fit and was impossible to roll up and down (when the service man came to change the shades to those I REALLY wanted but was talked out of in the beginning) he snapped the chord
I asked them to be brought back to Hunter Douglas and allow me to have credit toward the cellular shades that I had originally requested) BTW, they were also shredding and had wear holes after 6 months)
The owner of NYC Blinds only responded to me after I gave him a bad rating.
Before that I was told, it is what I ordered and tough luck.
He came to my house, saw that they had been hung improperly and offered to credit me for them and we ordered the cellular shades
When they came the first time the measurements were completely off (HIS GUY MEASURED)
AND when it came time to pay he wanted to charge me full price denying that he was going to give me a refund.
His comment was, I am not going to lose money....HA!!! I overpaid to begin with and he now wanted me to overpay. .
My request was to take the broken tattered shades to HD and get them to give him a refund as it was clearly an inferior product.
He refused and threatened to sue me
Horrible Horrible experience
I have built or remodeled 7 houses and NEVER have I had an issue with service. I always had great experiences with window treatment service.
This was the worst.

NY City Blinds did a very high end window treatment installation for one of my clients. They were wonderful to work with. They were extremely efficient, their installers are excellent. One very impressive feature is that they answered all of my concerns immediately. It was wonderful to work with them.

We have over 20 large windows in our new apartment, so finding the right shades within our budget was a big project. Roei was very patient, and helped us find shades to meet all our needs (blackout, energy efficient, baby-proof) within our budget. We love our new shades and would use NYCity Blinds again!

My wife and I needed "floor To ceiling" blinds that served the dual purpose of controlling light levels in the windows, and providing climate control from extreme heat and cold. Zvi @ NY City Blinds was very helpful, prompt, accomodating, and worked within our budget. Turnaround time was quick, and his installation team were quick, clean, on time, and very nice guys. We got exactly what we wanted and we are extremely happy, and our neighbors loved the blinds so much they had NY City Blinds do all their windows. Good guys, good work.

I've looked around and received quotes from other companies before NY City blinds. They have a great selection, Zvi and Matt are a pleasure to deal with and installation is included in the price. They are flexible, added a trim at my request. I'm already back for a second order. Highly recommended.

I received this referral from the Real Estate agent who helped me find my apartment. I needed a window blind solution to fliter the NYC lights. Zvi was awesome. He suggested solutions I had not thought of and provided in home service to select the most appropriate fabric/color. Most important, the installation was handled professionally and Zvi has been ultra responsive and friendly with all of my requests. Would definitely recommend and use again.
