Is this a wood or composite material for the board & batten application?

Hi Amy. Thank you very much for your question. The board & Batten material is James Hardie-Hardie Board with 1x3 true exterior batten strips. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Is that a smooth cement board with Boral 1x3? We've heard that sometimes cement board has issues too but we mainly want the look of wood that can withstand a dark paint color with full sun exposure. Any advice is appreciated.

Hi Amy- Yes it is a smooth cement board with 1x3 Tru Exterior "Boral". The product does great as long as it flashed properly and held up 6-8in off the ground. The product holds the paint very well.
