HELP-Shower rod won't stay in place on wavy ceramic tiles

I haven't been able to find a solution to keep the tension rod from falling down. I'm hanging the same matelasse cotton shower curtain and plastic liner on a tension rod I used in my prior house on 4" tiles with no pattern. I think the rubber tips on the ends of the tension rod now aren't making contact with the tile since it is not flat. Here is a photo of the tile bought at Floor & Decor. I talked with some men at one of the big box stores who suggested I stick some velcro patches on the end of the rod and on the wavy tile to make better contact. That lasted 3 days and all was on the floor when I came home from work this week. Any ideas?

UPDATE April 2018 - Went to a family owned hardware store and spoke with several of the employees. I explained my problem. and at their suggestion, bought a spring-loaded heavy duty shower rod and some Gorilla double sided waterproof tape. These inexpensive changes did the trick and I didn't have to drill into the tile. Problem solved.

Get a permanently mounted one drilled into the wall.

Tension rods are not going to work, unless you enjoy having them fall. They also won't hold any additional weight which makes them useless to me. You need a glass & tile drill bit.

Interesting. I've never had much problem with tension rods, except for the really cheap ones. Right now, my wife and I rent out a two bath apartment on Airbnb and both bath tubs have tension rods holding up fairly heavy fabric curtains and fabric liners on very similar tile. Have you cleaned the tile and the rubber tips thoroughly?

It took me a while to come around, but ended up installing a rod into the tile. Thanks everyone!
