Can I plant a Foxtail?

We have a pool with a 3'x3' island to plant a palm tree. We figured we had to go with a pygmy date palm. I think a Foxtail would look much nicer and is not very large. Anyone know the root system well for a Foxtail? Would it eventually break the 3' cement islands or stay contained? Thanks!

As long as you don't have a pool cage you should be alright. Just in case you could always plant it in a large container in the ground.
