It reminds me of Jet Mist granite.

Maybe some pros will weigh in, but since that's a bar area, I'd guess that's soapstone being used in that space. There are also onyx marbles and honed black granites that would be similar.

I'm going to suggest a white countertop instead of the dark veined countertop shown. White would provide some needed contrast.
