Who has planted a Stewartia ‘Pewter Form’?

last month

I love Houzz gardeners, so generous and sharing with your experiences.

I understand Stewartia ’Pewter’ is a special cultivar and likely smaller than the species. It’s listed as needing a protected spot from the wind. I’d like it to form some canopy for shade along the walkway to the front door.

I see one nursery selling this cultivar with information for mature height at 15 ft tall and a different nursery selling same tree with mature height at 20-30 ft tall.

We are in windy zone 6 mid-Michigan.

Has anyone planted this cultivar in similar climate?

It’s still living in a pot, waiting to be planted out.

Kind regards,

Lynn
