We recommend vertical illumination on the sides of the mirror whenever possible for the most flattering light for the face (read: no harsh shadows). Recessed ceiling downlights are a nice addition to the vanity lights when mounted above the sink about 12" from the wall.

To get more information on the subject, you can read our articles on bathroom vanity lighting and on layered lighting design for bathrooms, written by our ALA certified lighting experts.

We also carry a wide selection of bath bars, wall sconces, and bathroom vanity lights to suit a variety of tastes.

    I hope this helps!

what is the spacing on the sconces and the vanity? I am trying to squeeze in 5" sconces into 8" gutters around 24" medicine cabinets. I am nervous that it will look too cramped, but your spacing looks proportional.
