Great article, and appreciate all the valuable information in the comments. I have a big bare backyard, and planning to pave a path. I do like the design of pebbles in between step stones, like what's in the pea gravel pictures. My question is, what to put underneath the stone? Do i need cement under each piece stone to keep them in place? any prep needed for the pea gravels? Also I'm considering putting DG first due to tight budget, and later on maybe install pavers on top, can the DG be the base of pavers?
