Also, marble....as beautiful as it is, is not something I'd go with again.... stains so easily.

My biggest pet peeve in our bathroom (which we will have to solve when we remodel said bathroom) is that the toilet paper holder is on the wall behind the toilet about 5 inches to the right. God forbid you have a crook in your neck or an injured back when you have to do a yoga-twist to get some toilet paper. The bath designer was asleep making that decision, for sure. Toilet paper holders should be closer to your knees when you're sitting, or at least not require a deep spinal twist.

Another pet peeve is any visible plumbing pipes. (Unless you've got an interesting industrial thing going on, I guess.) Ours shows from behind a crummy pedestal sink that doesn't eclipse the pipes, and also does nothing in the way of storage.

Lastly, when visiting other homes, I hate when it's not clear which towel is for drying hands. I can't tell you how often the only towel in sight is a large bath towel, nowhere near the sink, and was possibly used on someone's bod after bathing. Eww. People, have a dedicated hand towel in your bathroom that people don't have to hunt for, right?

#8 was my focal point when we gave our upstairs bathroom an update... we took out the wall to the tub and moved the light switch to another wall...the space opened up a bit more...I added a slipper tub/clawfoot, rattan storage tray for towels, shampoo and bath items, travertine tile on floor and nature at its best for the wall decor and yellow crepe bathroom Behr paint
