Buster57, in order to have a successful refinish, prep is the key. You must sand and prep in order for the paint to adhere. There are numerous articles on prep for cabinets. Education is the key to a successful endeavour.

I thought the stove in front of the window in #1 was not a very good idea. No hood and how do you access the window??

Kathi: That's what I was afraid of. So not gonna happen!! Do you think glue would adhere without prepping? PS - I didn't give you a "like" cos I didn't like that I have to prep the cabinets. LOL. :)

Agree with your critique on #1. Our original layout had the stove in front of the window which was really odd/stupid. It also kept blowing out the pilot light. Many reasons we had to change the layout but that was a biggie besides we couldn't get the odor out of the cabinets nor could we access the cabinet by the stove. OY.
