What Houzz contributors are saying:
Accentuates substrate flaws. Foil wallpaper, unlike flocked, will not only show inconsistencies in your walls, but it also will amplify them. Besides making sure that your wall surface is perfectly clean and smooth, it’s beneficial to first install a paper lining before installing the foil wallpaper. The lining will add a buffering layer between the wall surface and the wallpaper. It helps prevent any flaws and subtle orange-peel texture from paint rollers from telegraphing through.
Get the ceiling in on the act. “Extend paint or wallpaper beyond the walls to the ceiling,” advises designer Heather O’Donovan. This gives sloped walls an even more snug and enclosed feeling.
This feminine beauty uses the odd angles to their best advantage — the chandelier is hung to emphasize the height of the ceiling, while the space is kept cozy with low furniture, floor pillows and wallpaper that extends to every wall.
