Traditional Landscape, New York

Formerly a grass terrace, we transformed it into a functional brick terrace with a reflecting pool to add interest and a focal point when entertaining or dinning. Howard Roberts

    Hi Cathy,

This space originally was a raised grass terrace for many years before a new owner purchased this estate. They engaged us to create a living space for them, the kitchen and great room enter this new space. We felt a water element would be a nice element/focal point to add to the new raised terrace and gardens.

This is a reflecting pool, only 12+" deep, with a vertical sculpture/planter. We originally proposed some subtle fountain components to create the movement and sound of water, but they took that out of the program. The linear shape and form mimics the proportions of the space.

We also created a lower landing, walkway and garden space to receive the home and grounds.

It will be easier for you to appreciate if I attach some before and after images, which I will provide as well.

Thank you for asking, it was a great design and project to build.
