    There is likely a full sized window to the right. We use transoms for additional lighting all the time in bedrooms in tandem with other full sized window. You an see a house through the transom windows. These windows in this application provide an additional measure of privacy, as well as light.

Fun accent wall, huh? Here's a detail shot [though the lighter tiles are actually white - for some reason they are a little pink in this shot.]
