Hello less than observant ranters. What's the first thing you'd see in the morning if you were lying in this bed, looking at the ceiling? Common sense, such a rarity today.

Jim O - wouldn't the first thing you see when you wake up (assuming your on your back) would be the ceiling...given our eyes are on our face/front of our head not the top?

I think when they lay down they see American the right way. And doesn't offend me.

The owner did not know the paint color. It was painted before he moved in. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Thank you for looking.

      What Houzz contributors are saying:

Houzz added this to ConduitMay 23, 2013

Commercial and industrial architecture often uses electrical conduit because the the walls are solid CMU (concrete masonry blocks), making external electricity inevitable.

The bedroom maintains a gritty appeal, with gray cinderblock walls, concrete floors and exposed fixtures. The American Oil sign had been left outside the apartment when the couple moved in. Corrugated fiberglass panels attached to plywood on steel framing make up the bedroom walls. The closet door is weathered steel and slides on a track attached to the ceiling."Our favorite spot is the bedroom," Tovey says. "It’s the most comfortable space in our home, and it’s where we unwind."

Turning the sign upside down turns a patriotic room to one that sparks thoughts and curiosity.
