When a photographer organizes a shoot and stages the moment to relay some internal private message with society, we are definitely moving into another genre of photography. I think it more resembles cinematography. I know that the moment isn’t real, but that doesn’t matter. The photographer, Philip-Lorca Dicorcia, is well accomplished in this genre. I find this fascinating and fabulous, and I would rather own one of his works than a mediocre painting.
