He helped us from the start when we just had some basic ideas of what we wanted to do. His knowledge and experience in the building industry shone through as we stepped our way through the project. We took our early 80's bungalow and freshened it up, added a 2 car garage and office, and got a bigger kitchen out of the deal, which was what we wanted in the first place. “We contracted Hamelin Architecture to draw a 2-storey addition onto our existing 100-year old house. The rooms added included a master suite, a Great Room, powder room, mudroom, and garage. Steve Hamelin designed the addition (currently under construction), which not only matches the the existing style of the house, but also will be very functional for me and my family. He made excellent suggestions that we hadn't considered, and worked with the Town of Oakville to make sure that the drawings met all Town codes. Great experience and highly recommended!”

Marie oversaw a significant project including a complete kitchen renovation and addition to second story to transform a small master bedroom into a master suite complete with a sitting room, dressing room and high end four piece ensuite. Marie designed the changes, drew the plans, obtained the building permit, hired the contractor, oversaw the construction, chose the materials and finally completed the interior design. Amazing professional. Considering the size and scope of the project, there were very few glitches and Marie adeptly handled any that did arise. One year later we still love the renovation and would change nothing. “Murray Arnott and my wife and I have been working together for the last 2 years on a new Post and Beam Home design in Ventnor NJ, on the waterfront. My experience with him has been nothing less than fabulous. Murray is a consummate professional, a true artist in every sense of the word, with a seemingly unbridled sense of imagination. If you can envision it, he can design it. And where my vision struggles, his suggestions seem to be spot on. Murray was kind enough to rescue me after a failed attempt with another architect where the chemistry turned out to be less than adequate. Instead, murray's gentlemanly nature and easygoing demeanor set the tone which allowed me to describe, receive sketches, tweak them, describe some more, tweak some more, until we achieved a near 8000sq ft home on the water with a very large workout room with steamshower and sauna, game room, wine cellar, office, gourmet kitchen, 5 bedrooms 6.5 baths and a 2nd floor indoor pool and spa off the Den (secluded from the rest of the house appropriately of course). I didn't realize until half way through this project that Murray is actually quite the International award winning home designer. Not why I chose him and not why we are together at all, though it's quite the icing on top. The reason I was so attracted to Murray is because his designs, in general which illustrate so wonderfully curvaceous indoor outdoor living in log home and post and beam designs are just........quietly elegant and drop dead gorgeous. Look him up and see for yourself. We have just received our variance and zoning approvals which Murray has been walking us through every step of the way, from start to finish, and our plan is for him to stay intimately involved throughout the entire build process. Our Home is in the final throws of the building permitting process with all systems go. Thank you, Murray!
