Amy's knowledge of the Historic Preservation Commission and how to navigate through every stage from the application for a Certificate of Appropriateness, through appealing decisions and reaching agreeable compromises was invaluable. Our only option for increasing the square footage of our 1902, 864sqft, corner lot Contributing home, was to raise the house off it's crumbling foundations and put in a full basement. Amy designed our addition with two bedrooms, a full bath, family, laundry, and mechanical rooms, with an amazing amount of natural light, thereby doubling our livable space. Her response time was often within the hour, and since the completion of our project I have had occasion to call her regarding other historic district questions and she is always happy to weigh in.

We engaged Amy to assist us with the complete remodel of our home in the North End neighborhood of Boise, based on the recommendation of real estate professionals we had worked with. She has extensive experience with the regulatory and pragmatic workings of the City of Boise and the Neighborhood preservation requirements and she demonstrated this throughout the design and development process. In addition, she brought thoughtful and insightful design and construction ideas to the project and worked very closely with us and our contractor to ensure we were pleased with the ideas and more importantly, focused on solving the problems that came up. She is a true professional; very responsive in communications, even with her busy schedule, collaborates with the many personalities, creative and is a genuinely nice individual to work with. She did what she said she would do, when she said she would do it, notwithstanding the many issues that come up with extensive remodels and regulatory bodies. We would recommend her highly.

We worked with Amy in designing our house, which we started building in June, 2014. My wife and I are both fans of modern architecture. We were looking to build a home in the historic district of the North End and definitely needed help navigating all the issues that come with that. Not only did Amy draw all our plans but represented us to the city and historical district with poise and ease. She was attentive to our needs for today and for our future. Amy was realistic, kind and happy to make any changes we felt might be necessary. She was very aware of budget constraints and made sure to stay within our budget and knew how to design the plans to keep the build process within those boundaries also. Thanks to Amy we are currently building our forever home.

I really enjoyed working with Amy on our unusual home project. She took the quirks in stride and stayed within our budget and was available to talk through ideas and was willing to consider other options. She communicated well with our builder and the city. We agreed on much of the plans but some areas where I wanted it done differently, now after living in it, I can now see that her idea would have been a better lay out.

We asked Amy to assist us with designing our tri-level 3200 sq.ft. home after being highly recommended by several people we know (i.e. friends, engineers, contractors).
