Very professional team of Architects in NYC. Would highly recommend their team. Alan and his team is very easy to deal with.

We have used archetype for two large-scale projects now, and have recommended them for many, many more over the last 8 years. Alan and his team are creative, thoughtful, responsive and thorough. Whenever issues arise, which is inevitable with construction, they are available to handle effectively. I recommend them wholeheartedly.

My wife Jenny & I had the chance to work with Alan (Owner), Alexis (Designer), and Keila (Project Manager) on a full apartment renovation. For a little of background, our unit is a duplex & was on the market for close to a year. Part of the reason was the unit was a bit dated (it included original bathrooms from the 50s). We originally found Alan on Houzz & reached out to him through the platform. He hopped on a call with both of us the same day to talk through our project & we met walked through the unit with him the very next week (Alan also has a very cute Golden Retriever named Henry, who we met a few weeks later at his office). My wife & I very much appreciated how Alan worked within our budget, provided various options, & shared his pros/cons. His ideas for opening up our pocket kitchen have made a huge difference with our space. Alan assigned us to a project manager (Keila) & interior designer (Alexis) as part of our project. Keila joined us about half way through the project as the original project manager moved from New York & was no longer at the company. Keila managed the relationship with our contractors & ensured our blueprints lined up to the work the guys were performing. She came onsite multiple times throughout the project, which was great with keeping the contractors on track. We could not have completed this project without Alexis - between managing our multiple (and I mean multiple) vendors, helping with a smooth transition between project managers, & going above her role as interior design to make sure we were happy as customers. Not to mention she very quickly understood our style & picked out items we loved. My wife & I cannot speak highly enough of the work she did - you would be lucky to have her on your project! Overall - my wife & I are very happy we worked with Archteype & happy to act as a referral for them at any time :)

Archetype Architecture did the construction on my daughter's new 2 bedroom apartment. They did an amazing job. We really loved them! Would definitely use them again!

His team of Keila Montero and Alexis Tamzrian helped my wife and I redesign our dream home, he did so by saving us money and by perfectly executing our vision. Archtype was professional from start to finish. The architect and interior designer assigned to my project (a full renovation of a modest one-bedroom coop apartment) listened carefully to my needs & desires in order to draft detailed plans which passed all the permitting requirements of NYC and the apartment building. Everyone I worked with was responsive and I rarely waited more than a couple hours for my queries to be acknowledged and addressed. Having never done anything like this or of this scale before I was especially grateful for the attention and advice of the firm’s Interior Designer. In additon to suggesting options and shopping with me, she oversaw the delivery and installation of all fixtures and appliances. I couldn’t be more pleased with the final result!

Alan Berman is a professional and very competent architect and a pleasure to work with. He is very familiar with all the complicated rules and regulations in renovating spaces in NYC. He is supported by a first class team that does the detail work. On the whole, we were quite satisfied.

We were thrilled with the work of Alan and Archetype. With their help we were able to turn a half bath into a full bath for our son as well as redo our bathroom, and two closets. The designs were great and Archetype was able to foresee and fix problems that we did not even see coming. Alexis was instrumental in making sure the items that we ordered were there when they were supposed to be and that when we had an issue she made sure we received a refund from our vendor. We have used Archetype before and look forward to using them again in the future when we want to have our kitchen redone.

Alan is a creative genius. He looked at my 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment and had a vision for how we could divide the space differently to create a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom. We are so thrilled with the result and love our home and the value that has been added. Archetype has a full staff and after Alan created the rough floor plan, his colleague was assigned our project manager and was involved with every step of the process. Archetype also offers bathroom and kitchen design services and well as interior design. It was a fun, creative and efficient process. I highly recommend them!
