Glenn was fantastic to work with, very thorough with a great eye for design and structural elements. He took a problem design and turned it into my dream home. We hired him after struggling with the builders lead designer. He took the time to understand what my vision for the home was and turned it into reality. No, actually it became even more than I could have imagined. He helped me work through all the layers of decisions (and there are many) that come with building a custom home like this … and he made it fun. He loaded the home with features both inside and outside that we wanted and and more and it fits our lifestyle extremely well. I could not be more pleased. Just remember, it is a process and patience and communication is the key! My husband and I are thrilled and love our home!

Glenn came to the project with years of experience and ideas. He was very thorough in researching the land and codes that needed to be followed. He worked closely with the contractor, guiding him in contruction and making sure all the codes were in place. Glenn was very meticulus in every step of the process. We had water drainage issues and he was able to make valuable recommendations. He came out during this process to verify that the waterproofing company was implementing correct practices. I would highly recommend Glenn for any architecture work.

Working within a budget, Glenn did a fabulous job of "phasing" the project to help us achieve our goals and see what would be possible if we extended beyond the budget. He also helped us detail and document changes as the project progressed - extremely helpful for us to stay on top of priorities and money. Candidly, we had FUN working with Glenn and the team - enjoyed the partnership and professionalism. We worked with Glenn on a total remodel of a 19th century house in Fountain Square, Indianapolis. Glenn and his team were responsible for everything from the initial design to the final selections, and the outcome is fabulous. Converting a previously 3 BR 1 BA 1000 Sq. Ft. house, to a more than 2,000 Sq. Ft. 4 BR 2.5 BA house with modern interior, while keeping the look and feel of the neighborhood was not an easy task. Glenn came with innovative solutions that made this happen. This project (many projects of this kind) had its difficulties. Glenn stepped in, assumed responsibilities above and beyond the initial intended scope and made sure the the final result will be to our maximum satisfaction. We will surely work with Glenn in the future, and I recommend his services with no doubt.

Glenn Gareis GMG Architects I contacted Glenn based on a neighbor’s recommendation and beautiful renovation Glenn had done on their home. My goal was to expand, reconfigure, update, and make handicap accessible a 1750 sq ft ranch to make it a “perfect home” for retirement. Glenn met with me several times and carefully listened and questioned me as to my vision. He took me through the various planning, design, and building phases of this renovation. Glenn presented me with various design options and the best and latest available materials and technology, (eg, lighting design). He was extremely thorough and detailed. He clearly communicated throughout the process. He held weekly meetings throughout the process with me and the contractor to review work completed, next steps, budget, timelines, and design decisions. He advised on all design choices. He and his contractor were always available to explain and educate. They responded and communicated in a very prompt and timely manner regarding any questions or information requests and freely gave me their advice and opinion based on latest best practices, product available, and durability. I valued and trusted their advice. Any renovation is complex, but Glenn, his team, and excellent contractor made this whole process “fun and enjoyable.” Absolutely delighted with the result. My home is now open, airy, and beautiful and would recommend Glenn’s work to anyone. His architectural design took a dream to reality.

Glenn's team helped us maximize the design potential of a 1950's fixer upper ranch we downsized into. As empty nesters, we needed a smaller home that was easier to manage given our busy professional and social lives. Even in a smaller space, we were able to incorporate a new cook's kitchen; walk-in shower with rain head; drop zone; keeping room; outdoor living area; new marble fireplace surround; and LED lighting throughout. Thanks to Glenn's team we have the home we dreamed of - modern, energy efficient and easy to live in.

Most of the design and construction people I have met aren't used to this. Glenn and his team understood my skill level and desire to be part of the process; both design and construction. We are thrilled with our custom designed modern master bathroom! Our architect, designer, and contractor were a dream team that patiently worked with us to design, plan, and build this gem...and other improvements that our 1937 colonial home needed. Thanks to the talent, creativity, and comprehensive approach of this design-build team, we were able to solve a list of nagging problems with our older home, we have the "Dwell" bathroom we envisioned and stayed on budget. We are already planning our next project with the same team.

Commented: Is this front door covered by a brick archway?No, the head of the door aligns with wood trim just under the eave. This is a basic ranch house that we are shifting towards a Craftsman aesthetic in phases.
