I needed help renovating my loft apartment. Jane was conscientious, communicative, collaborative with me and the contractor team I chose. She and Caroline worked patiently with me to iterate on options. Most importantly, I'm happy with the home I got.

Jane looked at our worn out apartment, not redone since the 1990s, and reimagined it as a bright, clean oasis. She discovered space for closets where none existed before and added a half bathroom, laundry "room" and full bath with a soaking tub -- in a New York City apartment. She has an eye for how colors and space work together, guiding the palette for fun and beautiful tile work, as well as natural finishes for the floors, cabinetry and window frames. Most importantly every deadline was met, and everything came in at exactly the price she quoted, a tough thing to make happen in a time of fluctuating inflation and supply chain woes. Bonus: She has a terrific sense of humor.

I worked with Jane on the gut-renovation of our 1500 square foot bungalow in Santa Monica, CA which involved completely re-conceiving the interior layout. Previously, the home had an inefficient use of space due to a series add-ons by previous owners. Having worked with many designers in my professional life, I can attest that many designers and architects don't actually have a natural intuition or talent when it comes to how to think about space. It was a huge relief to work with an architect whose judgment I completely trust. With Jane's help, we were able to convert a 2 bedroom 2 bath into a 3 bedroom 2 bath with additional study. My experienced contractor commented that her smart design made our small home feel extremely spacious. Although we worked with Jane from afar, the remote working relationship was easy and never posed any issues. When it came to advising on finishes, she was deeply knowledgable about where we could save and where we should spend.

Jane is a fantastic designer who listens to her clients needs. She is great at managing contractors and project timelines and does it with tact and navigates well when unexpected situations arise. Her understanding of inventory when it comes to picking finishes (whether lighting, to tile, to hardware) is super helpful, she clearly knows her stuff. Pleasure to work with and we were thrilled with the final results of our townhome gut renovation - thank you Jane!

Jane is a very talented architect and designer who helped me realize my dream apartment. She developed an intuitive sense of what I like and delivered custom millwork, window treatments, all new furniture and lighting fixtures that work cohesively in the space. Jane also provided sub-contractors like the GC, cabinet maker, A/V and closet system providers that were first rate and cost-effective. She project managed as well and things went very smoothly. Her drawings and renderings were superb and gave me an exact sense of what was to come. Fantastic and recommended without reservation.

We are thrilled with our JKD renovation. Jane and her colleagues did a beautiful job reimagining our two bathrooms (maximizing space, implementing clean lines and modern finishes) and designing built-in bookcases and radiator covers. The JKD team was professional, incredibly responsive, and worked very well with our contractor and coop board.

Jane designed and supervised a very extensive renovation of our wood frame townhouse in Brooklyn. The project included : -- application for NYS Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit (approved!) -- removal of walls, and reinforcement of beams in order to expand kitchen and install large metal doors in the back wall, and consolidate all the rooms on the top floor to make an amazing light-filled work/play space. -- installation of solar panels (trickier than you might think in NYC!) -- construction of a new staircase to a new bulkhead on the roof. -- complete replacement of front and back facades, including insulation and siding -- research and design of an historically sensitive replacement for the front facade -- expansion and creation of a fabulous kitchen -- complete renovation of all bathrooms, -- construction of a large deck off the kitchen. This was our first experience with renovation and we can't believe how easy it was especially considering the size of our project. Jane and her team took exquisite care of us. They were always there when we had a question. There was very little for us to do other than express our opinions and shop for things. Jane has such great ideas and she is so easy to work with. She seems to know just about everything about design, construction, and decoration and while we of course made our own choices, we deferred to her a lot because, well, she was usually right. We are over the moon about how our house turned out. We couldn't imagine going to anyone else

I've been in my JKD-designed loft for 11 years and still marvel at how well it came out. Jane efficiently narrowed a large design space to a few good options, and then iterated on details to get the project to a very high level of refinement. The result is highly functional, great to be in, and nobody comes here without saying "wow".

Great design and aesthetic. I was hesitant to spend the money on an architect/designer but it just made the whole renovation process so much easier and the finished product a lot more cohesive and complete and beautiful. We couldn't have done it without her - we never knew how difficult it could be to renovate a house with so many subtle design decisions to make. We trusted her vision for much of the design but she worked with us to find what works for us to make this project our own. She has great style and taste and we couldn't be happier with the project!
