About Us

Marc Anderson Architects is a Chicago based full-service architecture and design firm. We listen to our clients to learn and then adopt their goals as our own. These goals focus our work to find the best custom design for each client. Our knowledge of construction methods expands our creative flexibility while also providing cost effective solutions. With experience in residential, mix-use developments, commercial build-outs, public institutions, daycare center, and commercial tenant improvements, MAA is well prepared to help you plan a beautiful, functional space that fits your specific needs. Marc received his Master of Architecture degree from the Ohio State University with an interest in the role surveillance has played in urban design. His undergraduate degree was from Purdue University in animation where he enjoyed telling engaging stories with moody backdrops. With experience designing award-winning projects including higher education classroom and iconic landmark buildings, Marc enjoys translating client goals into functional, efficient, and attractive spaces.

Marc is a phenomenal architect. He designed plans that reflected the history of our 135 year old Victorian while attending to modern living in a way that maximized space and light. His process is user centered. He spent many hours measuring and walking the house and having conversations with us about our needs. His expertise of Chicago building code and city offices were invaluable as we navigated that process. Throughout the year-long project he was responsive via phone and email. He helped us screen General Contractor proposals and made recommendations where pricing might be too high. When issues arose, he happily collaborated with the general contractor and vendors in order to make sure the final result met our needs. He regularly toured construction and pointed out several issues before they became a big deal. As we spent over a year with Marc, what mattered most was his kind and calm demeanor during stressful situations. His focus on problem solving kept things moving even when our needs hit roadblocks. It was clear he loves what he does and made adjustments to his plans to make sure they reflected his best thinking on design that reflected our dreams. We moved into a new home on budget with no surprises and no concerns about the quality of the final product in large part due to Marc.

Marc is very nice, and I really enjoyed talking with him. He helped answer many of my questions and bring clarity to some things I was looking to know more about. Very knowledgeable in his field, and I highly recommend!

We bumped into Marc after meeting with several, over priced architects. We had a pretty good idea of our remodel goals as my wife is a designer..... and Marc helped us execute. Marc was responsive and did a lot of leg work that he could have thrown back on us. Responsive, practical, detailed, easy to work with.
