Ted and his team helped our ed-tech company on our search for office space in San Francisco. He joined us on countless building tours - evaluating the suitability of each space to our specific business needs while keeping improvement costs top of mind - and ultimately delivered on the full architectural design process - programming, schematic design, 3D design development, and construction drawings. Ted worked collaboratively with our real estate broker and general contractor to help us a meet an extremely tight, almost unrealistic, deadline. With Ted’s help we opened our second office location on time and within budget. Ted also assisted with interior design of the new space - connecting us with top furniture manufacturers and helping with product specification and purchasing. Ted is a very creative, involved, invested partner and exercised great patience and flexibility despite our constantly evolving needs. His easy going demeanor and professionalism make him a real pleasure to work with.

Ted and the MTP team are our architects for two projects. One in San Francisco and one in the St. Helena Area. Ted is simply amazing. Creative, pragmatic and guided us through many decisions. He has a huge passion for architecture, Great attention to details and his work is amazing. We have completed our home in San Francisco and currently working with Ted on Napa. Ted designed the layout of our new office space, including developing a floorplan that was used to negotiate the tenant improvement budget with the landlord; selected finishes including carpet and paint; and directed the furniture selection. He developed a plan that maximized the utility of the space while minimizing overall project cost. We would use him again!

Ted was the perfect choice for the remodel of my home. I needed someone who was both a competent architect, but also a talented designer. The house needed to be completed gutted and Ted had great vision of what my house could be. He knew what to do to ensure the house maintained an enduring style and flow. He provided me with several options for fixtures, guided me to what would be the best choice and managed the project efficiently so that I could confidently and comfortably "do my day job". The house was featured during a home tour charity event. I sold my house 15 years later. Over 100+ families lined up to see the house during a four hour open house. Sold in two days. Great architect; great house!

I have been working with MTP architects on a residential project at the moment. Ted is very professional and enjoys the collaborative process with all the players central to the residential construction process (builder, sub contractors, interior designers, etc...) He takes the heavy lifting and works to lighten the load and make the experience enjoyable.

Ted Pratt designed my beach house in Narragansett, Rhode Island. It is a large traditional home; however, as I requested, it looks cottage like from the street. The interior is transitional. The space works really well for large parties, and also for separate individual activities within the house. The house is ten years old and is well liked by neighbors. I have had several unsolicited offers to buy it. I occasionally rent it to very select tenants and all have enjoyed it and wanted to return or purchase it. Ted is easy to work with, has great creativity, and is very technically capable.

Ted Pratt at MTP Architects designed our beautiful San Francisco kitchen. He was able to open up the cramped 1920's galley kitchen by claiming the small breakfast room and interior atrium light space (between the row houses) and combined them into a spacious gourmet cooking/eating/gathering area that flows from the formal dining room into the main hallway. This is now the room that we spend most of our time in; we could not be more pleased with the result. Ted has very imaginative ideas and solutions that translated well to our project. For example, since we lost the atrium light, Ted planned six skylights, three of them operable, to bring light and fresh air to the now-interior space. We wanted to retain the Deco feel of our house but also establish a modern kitchen with upscale appliances and an island. He struck just the right notes with traditional details such as crown moldings and an arched pass-through window to the dining room which echoed the existing interior arched doorways. The modern cooking space incorporates stainless steel, two types of granite for the backsplash and counters, and a home office wall. It is all beautifully integrated into a transitional center-of-the-home space. Ted worked very well with our contractor (RCI Interiors - also highly recommended) and communicated his vision perfectly. He also stepped up when a post-construction issue was brought forward by one of our sub-contractors and mediated the discussion to a successful resolution. We highly recommend Ted, and MTP Architects, and would be happy to share our experience with any prospective clients.
