Suzane Reatig Architecture

Suzane Reatig Architecture has transformed a number of spaces in my home: my family living space as well as the master bedroom of my home; and my working spaces for both a sculpture studio and an art therapy studio. The studio renovation was from an old carriage house into a beautiful art studio behind our home; the addition to our Victorian home came with a new kitchen, master bedroom, two baths, accompanying closet spaces, and a teen room. The comfort and enjoyment of our home living has grown exponentially over the years as our lifestyle grew into and because of these additions and renovations.

SUSAN REATIG ARCHITECTURE—CHEVY CHASE ART STUDIO My dream was to turn a small 1920’s garage behind a Tudor home into a low budget artist’s studio. After rejecting several design/builders’ approaches I met Suzane Reatig who presented me with two designs. I knew immediately one of them was it. Her ideas were so special, visionary and experimental for our rather traditional neighborhood. She had the courage to use translucent industrial (Kalwall) material and a soaring height creating a shape that glowed like a lantern at night. The building process went well, I was satisfied with all aspects from beginning to end. It was a pleasure to start working in the space, to invite other artists to open studio shows and to offer a variety of workshops. Suzane Reatig’s building won recognition and an AIA award. I enjoyed the modern light filled space, a dream come true for almost twenty years and until today cherish a longstanding friendship with the architect.
