Tony Albrecht A.I.A.

I met Tony in late 2017. I expressed a desire to expand my existing house, a modest 1950s split-level in Lafayette Hill, to make room for a larger family. My requirement was to add three bedrooms and one bath within the framework of 'just enough' - so that the addition fit the rest of the neighborhood and provided continuity with the existing structure. We started the project in January with five hand-drawn options to consider. We met multiple times to flesh out the design. We finished together on time eight months later with a beautiful 2-story addition that included a family room, side porch, three new bedrooms and lovely full bathroom. In addition to furnishing a bid set and technical drawings, Tony assisted with contractor selection, the permit process and construction oversight. All through the process, Tony respected my timeline and budget. He worked with subs to solve problems, refine design details and maintain continuity and flow from the old structure to the new. He also found ways to optimize space, improve natural lighting and add touches of luxury. I feel blessed to have found Tony Albrecht. He is creative, with strong sense of design, an appreciation of natural lighting and artistic talent. He also has a strong attention to detail and broad knowledge of engineering methods and construction materials. Tony is honest, fair and practical. He was a great partner for my home expansion project. In the end, we have a beautiful 'like new' house that we all call home.

Our house is 75 years old. Tony Albrecht A.I.A., designed an addition which doubled the square footage. It was critical that the new construction (right side) blended with the old to ensure a seem-less transition. Tony planned and worked with us for many months prior to construction to design a plan that exceeded our expectations. Tony was there for us re: the changes and revisions inevitable with such a project. His interaction with the various sub-contractors was excellent and represented our interests in a thoroughly professional manner. We could not have done it without him. We would highly recommend Tony.

We have used Tony on two separate occasions. He designed a stone stairway to a large stone landing with a canopy entrance to our colonial style home. Tony designed a very innovative and attractive walkway, landing and canopy using some challenging terrain. He then returned a few years later to create a two-story addition to the same house, renovating the family room and master bedroom. He created a beautiful, open suite with a fantastically creative bay window with a vaulted arch ceiling on the second floor. Two bathrooms and a large walk-in closet/dressing room were included. Tony was involved with much of the interior design elements as well as the architectural concepts and drawings. He supervised the construction and worked very well with our contractors. He comes highly recommended.

Tony designed a two story addition to our home complete with a new kitchen, family room, master bedroom and bathroom suite as well as a walk in closet. He was attentive, respectful of our intentions and reasonably priced. He would visit at least once per week and was with us through until the completion! We would highly recommend him.

Tony Albrecht did an incredible job of bringing our aesthetic dreams to fruition. Our home is a gem thanks to his creative designs and mindful architectural details. In collaboration with our builders, our home is uniquely expressed and artfully made. It is a sanctuary from the vicissitudes of human existence--complete with a reading nook and green roofs. Large pyramidal skylights draw the eye upward for star gazing and encourage a sense of wonder. We're delighted with the results of our home.
