Just had lovely black quartz tops installed.The only problem is the underside edge that hangs over the cabinets is an ugly, dull gray. When I asked them about this, they told me this is how it was supposed to look. Surely not. My only option has been to paint it with black enamel so it will match the top somewhat. After a days work and a stiff back, it looks better. I had other issues as well, but this was the biggest let down. You may want to look at all your options before you jump in. Wish I could show you the pictures.

I chose Smokey Mountain Tops after considering lower priced fabricators in Nashville because I wanted the job done right for my kitchen remodel. I was willing to pay a premium since I felt the counters would be the centerpiece of my kitchen. I selected Taj Mahal quartzite counters with a total cost of thousands of dollars. My overall experience with SMT has been a headache. When the counters were installed, I immediately noticed some issues. First, my island was supposed to have square corners, but they were round. Second, there were at least 4 chips around the edges. Additionally, the stone was cut incorrectly on the side of the gas range, so it was not straight and there was a significant gap between the range and the counter. Also, the installer said there might be a hairline fracture next to my sink. Argh! After multiple calls and emails they have addressed these issues for the most part. They agreed it was their mistake on the round corners, so they gave me a credit off my bill, after I insisted. They returned to fix the chips with silicon fill and to recut/adjust the piece by the range. The chips don't look great, but at least they are on the edges. They said it actually wasn't a hairline fracture, so the sink was okay. Now, a few months later, there is another chip right in the middle on the edge of my sink and they want $250-$300 to come back out and fill. So, I have a brand new kitchen with chipped counters. For their price level, I am disappointed with the overall experience - there have been way too many problems and it has been a lot of aggravation.

From A to Z, Smoky Mountain Tops has done an excellent job in answering all our questions, in our fabrication, and in installation of our granite kitchen countertops. Dean Muldong was amazing at keeping up with our many questions, our requests, and keeping us informed. They sent our granite to be leathered, and the final results are fantastic! Chris templated our countertops and did a perfect job. We requested pre-approval on the final templating as we chose busy slabs and the templating layout was above and beyond our expectations. The installers were precise and careful. We just could not have asked for a better experience and will be returning for our bathroom showers and countertops. Thank you!

I highly recommend Smokey Mountain Tops. Our contractor recommended them, and we were a little worried their quote would be on the high end. However, we selected our granite from OHM and still got a better price and more thorough attention to detail from SMT than fabricators in town who also stocked the granite we wanted. We worked with Krystal Romo, who was great. She walked me through all the options I needed to select for edges and corners. The staff who did the template measurements and installation were very professional and did a great job. Their estimate of time between templating and installation was spot on.

I can't say enough great things about SMT! They are the best countertop company in Nashville! Starting with their customer service, everyone I've dealt with is wonderful. Our account manager is Krystal Romo and she's the best! She is smart, knowledgable, efficient, and always has the best attitude. Everyone else is just as great. Between the template guys, Richard Holt who schedules everything, their installers; everyone is wonderful. Secondly, their product line is excellent. They have tons of options that are all beautiful! I highly recommend them!!

To prepare our home for sale, we recently completed an extensive renovation. Our contractor introduced us to Krystal Romo of Smokey Mountain Tops. We used quartz for countertops in our kitchen, three full baths, and one half-bath/utility room. Krystal came to our home to measure and also gave us some helpful advice at that early stage. She is creative, thoughtful, knowledgeable, and has a delightful personality. Krystal was always readily available and, even in her absence, the rest of the professionals at Smokey Mountain were always happy to be of assistance. Their willingness to help was particularly important, as I went back several times to “visit” our choices … just to be sure. Once our countertop choices were made, we thought we were done. However, there were numerous decisions yet to be made about the edges, etc., and Krystal gave us a wonderful education and sound advice to guide our selections. Installation was flawless. We highly recommend Krystal and Smokey Mountain Tops and would welcome the opportunity to work with them again.

We had new Cambria counter tops installed about 13 months ago. Great install and fit and gave the kitchen a wonderful new look. In March dropped glass on the edge of the counter, it nicked a small chunk out of the edge of the counter.--- Called Smokey Mountain Tops and their service team came and made it look new. Their team was very professional, responsive and skilled. I would highly recommend the whole team.

Either the templater messed up or the person cutting did, but they cut it upside down which caused them to have to cut it again on site. They had to "dry fit" it three times which damaged the corner on my wall. You can see blade marks in the granite. Would not recommend this company.

Horrible installation and poor customer service. Installers returned to address problems and still issues never resolved. Told us granite would be sealed but 1/2 of it, those pieces for bathrooms, were not factory sealed and now one is ruined after only 10 months and will need to be replaced. And yes, I did try sealing it with 2 different products to no avail.
