Bay Area Design & Construction

We recently had the pleasure of working with Payman and his team to remodel three bathrooms and update our garage, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The scope of work included full wall and floor tiling, new showers, smart toilets, vanities, lighting installations, and garage storage upgrades. Every detail was executed with precision and care. Payman runs a well-organized and professional crew. They showed up on time every day, maintained a clean and tidy worksite, and delivered high-quality craftsmanship throughout the project. The entire job was completed ahead of schedule and to perfection, in both finish and function. One of the things we appreciated most was Payman’s proactive communication. He held weekly meetings to walk us through progress, next steps, and what he needed from us to keep things moving efficiently. His attention to detail and ability to manage the project flawlessly made the whole process stress-free and enjoyable. We’re absolutely thrilled with the results and grateful for the experience. Thank you, Payman and team! Highly recommended to anyone looking for top-tier work and a seamless renovation experience.

We are very grateful to have met Payman and worked with Bay Area Design & Construction on a recent home remodeling project. Payman and his team were organized, communicative, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable. The project bid came in at a very competitive price, all the inspections were passed without a problem, and the work was completed a week ahead of schedule. We are very happy with the final result in terms of the craftsmanship of the work as well as the smoothness of the process. Payman and his team are honest, hard-working, flexible, and truly customer- and outcome-oriented. We will not hesitate to reach out to Bay Area Design & Construction for future projects.

Payman and his entire crew (Dario,Gino,Sina and others)at Bay Area design and construction did an amazing job in making our dream home a reality. They are very professional and far exceeded our expectations in all aspects of the project - architecture, planning, pricing, scheduling, response time and most importantly - quality of work. They have got a lot of experience in handling multiple projects successfully at the same time. We met up every week to walk through the tasks done prior week and what is planned for the next few weeks. It helped streamline the process and gave us enough time to focus on the things we needed to order immediately vs later. They completed the project exactly on the target date and we got our permit approved with minimal/no changes which was a pleasant surprise. We would highly recommend them to folks for any renovation work or adding new square feet to their home.

I strongly recommend Payman and the Bay Area Design for your home and backyard renovation and construction needs! We were referred to Payman by a friend who used them for an add-on to their main home, and are so thankful for that. Payman served as our architect and builder for our new ADU, as well as the builder for a complete blank-slate renovation of our backyard. Payman’s build was on schedule (less than 1 yr from demo to completion) and his team managed all the permitting, helped line up contractors and suppliers for select materials, custom cabinetries, and more. Overall, we are thrilled with the result and have already enjoyed making many memories in the new space. The most important thing I can say is that any large scale remodel will have its challenges and unexpected curveballs will arise, but we could always trust Payman to act with integrity and work with us on a solution. He takes pride in high quality work and works with sub-contractors who do as well. If you’re considering embarking on a home project, reach out to Payman and his team asap!

We hired Bay Area Design & Construction to remodel our whole house, almost like a new build. It was an extensive project (see work below), Bay Area Design & Construction delivered and exceeded our expectations. They are professional, organized, and have expertise in home building. From our initial meeting with Payman to discuss the project, we were impressed with his knowledge, experience, and professionalism. Payman was straightforward and gave us recommendations on the design. We liked how he had a schedule and would keep things on track as much as possible. The payment schedule was also straightforward and easy. We are happy with the quality of the workmanship and that the home was delivered on schedule. If we didn’t hit an issue with a 3rd party vendor at the end, the home may have even been done early. Remodeling a home is a big project. There will be changes and issues as it progresses. Payman and his team (Gary, Dario, and Gino) are very good at addressing these and problem solving to get over the hurdles and keep things moving. We appreciated the attention to detail and creating a home we love. The work included foundation, concrete, framing, window and door installation, roof truss installation, plumbing, electrical, sheetrock/drywall, painting, exterior stucco, tiling, insulation, permit and scheduling of inspections, finishes such as cabinet handles, shade installation, wood wall slat panels. They worked with 3rd parties and prepared what was needed for: flooring, photovoltaic/solar installation, cabinetry, shower doors, garage door, fireplace, roofing. We would highly recommend Bay Area Design & Construction for home remodeling projects.

We decided to remodel our downstairs bathroom to accommodate our needs as we get older. We engaged Bay Area Design and Construction based on a colleague's recommendation. It proved to be an excellent decision. Payman is a respectful, knowledgeable, and extremely conscientious general contractor. His experience helped us iron out our original ideas into a functional and very attractive finished product. Both he and his project foreman were readily available and promptly responded to any questions we had. The crew was friendly, punctual, efficient and highly skilled. The project finished earlier than the projected date. The cost was quite reasonable. I highly recommend Payman and his team for any construction project you may be considering. George B

Before this project, we had no experience with rebuilding/remodeling. We interviewed many contractors before going with Payman and the Bay Area Design and Construction team. Payman met us multiple times to answer our questions about the project. We did not feel rushed to get into a contract with Payman during this time. He provided honest and upfront answers to set our expectations right. Payman walked us through the whole process with extreme patience. We could not have done this without his guidance before and throughout the project. Once we started, Payman and his team were organized and efficient in keeping the project on track, despite issues with material sourcing during the pandemic. During our weekly meetings, Payman would discuss the progress, list any problems that came up and provide options for workarounds or fixes as needed. Payman is always reachable to answer any questions outside of the weekly meetings. Payman has good connections with various vendors for finish materials. He extended his contractor discounts whenever possible, allowing us to select premium finishes. We were out of the country for about three months during the project. Payman made sure he had everything from us before we left. He made sure the work did not stop while we were away. Payman would get on a video call to provide updates on our project while we were away. After project completion and moving, Payman provided continued support in fixing possible problems. I feel fortunate to have found Payman and the team. Our experience has been above and beyond what one expects from a contractor or a construction company.

We did a remodel with Bay Area Design and Construction and were so pleased with the work they did and the service they provided! From the start, Payman and his team were extremely organized, giving us all the information and guidance we needed on preparing and sourcing the finished materials. Once we got started, the team worked quickly and efficiently and kept things on track. We had a very strict deadline to be back in the house, and the team worked with us to ensure that it was met on time. The weekly meetings with the team to walk through changes that week, next steps, and any questions we had were so valuable and appreciated - it made us feel like we were in the loop at every step of the way! We were thrilled with how the work came out - very high quality. All of the specialists they brought in were top notch and great to work with. We will absolutely be coming back to Bay Area Design and Construction for our future projects!

We did a 2nd floor addition project with Bay Area Design and Construction, and had a great experience working with them. Payman and team and very efficient, communicate all requirement will in advance, deliver on time and are always available for any communication. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

We worked with Payman for a kitchen and bath remodel during the pandemic -- early 2021. He completed ahead of schedule and on budget. Besides Sundays, there were maybe only 2 days over 8 weeks where no one was working, and that was because of waiting for an inspection. Impressive!

After months of exploring, discussing and reviewing various companies, we selected Payman as the contractor for our home remodel project. We were adding 50% more area to our existing home with new bed/bath/family rooms, upgrading an existing bathroom, removing a brick fireplace and a few other smaller things. Since week 3 of our 20 week project, we have been referring him to any friend who was looking for a contractor. Here are the things we would like to highlight for what we got (and judging by so many reviews online, what you will get too): Integrity: Payman walked the talk every step of the way that got us comfortable that he is doing the right thing by us, and in the right way. One example: We had inadvertently given an extra weekly payment check to him. It may have probably been months, if at all, for us to have noticed it. However, Payman proactively reached out to us and cleared this up with us. Project Timeliness: Our project was happening in the middle of the pandemic with all the supply chain challenges. Windows needing 4 months, and a door with 6 months lead time are just a couple of examples. Payman’s anticipation of the challenges and pushing us - for example - to order the doors and windows on Day 1 after we got the city permits - was much needed (If he tells you to get something by a date, please do it; else, you will be the one gating your project; not him!). Payman plans and sequences the work of his various teams very efficiently. He got us so used to having someone at work in our house that the few days where it was silent felt very odd even it was to wait for city inspectors, or materials to arrive etc We moved into our home within 1 week of the committed time; and even that delay was not because of Payman, but because of delays in our finished materials coming in etc Communication: Payman is super responsive to communication via email, text and in person. We cannot recollect any big or small situations where he did not get back to us within a day. The weekly in-person meetings really do work well. If you are well prepared with your list of things to discuss, it will help you (he will always come with his list and be prepared). Costs: Overall - as Payman himself will tell you - he is not the cheapest contractor but he is also not on the high side of costs. After reviewing a few quotes, we felt his quote stayed true to what he said. ‘Change orders are where contractors make their profits’ - this is what we had heard time and again from many people. Over the course of all the change orders that needed to be completed, we found Payman’s quotes to be consistently fair and reasonable. All of the above would mean nothing if the quality of work was not good quality. And this is an area where Payman’s team really excels in delivering very high-quality work.

We cannot thank Payman and his team at Bay Area Design & Construction enough for an outstanding remodel job on our house. His team brought our dreams to reality. He took a Cape Code style home and transformed it into a beautiful transitional/modern home. We are so happy with the remodel. Payman is trust worthy and fair with his quotes. During our remodel process Payman and his team established weekly meetings to help us understand progress and next steps. This really helped us plan and procure materials during the 2021 supply chain issues. Our remodel included expanding and remodeling of our kitchen, adding a new bathroom, remodeling an existing bathroom, new floors, new staircase, trims, doors and windows. He also completed our remodel well before the expected date. Can't thank Payman and his team enough.
