We decided to remodel our downstairs bathroom to accommodate our needs as we get older. We engaged Bay Area Design and Construction based on a colleague's recommendation. It proved to be an excellent decision. Payman is a respectful, knowledgeable, and extremely conscientious general contractor. His experience helped us iron out our original ideas into a functional and very attractive finished product. Both he and his project foreman were readily available and promptly responded to any questions we had. The crew was friendly, punctual, efficient and highly skilled. The project finished earlier than the projected date. The cost was quite reasonable. I highly recommend Payman and his team for any construction project you may be considering. George B

Before this project, we had no experience with rebuilding/remodeling. We interviewed many contractors before going with Payman and the Bay Area Design and Construction team. Payman met us multiple times to answer our questions about the project. We did not feel rushed to get into a contract with Payman during this time. He provided honest and upfront answers to set our expectations right. Payman walked us through the whole process with extreme patience. We could not have done this without his guidance before and throughout the project. Once we started, Payman and his team were organized and efficient in keeping the project on track, despite issues with material sourcing during the pandemic. During our weekly meetings, Payman would discuss the progress, list any problems that came up and provide options for workarounds or fixes as needed. Payman is always reachable to answer any questions outside of the weekly meetings. Payman has good connections with various vendors for finish materials. He extended his contractor discounts whenever possible, allowing us to select premium finishes. We were out of the country for about three months during the project. Payman made sure he had everything from us before we left. He made sure the work did not stop while we were away. Payman would get on a video call to provide updates on our project while we were away. After project completion and moving, Payman provided continued support in fixing possible problems. I feel fortunate to have found Payman and the team. Our experience has been above and beyond what one expects from a contractor or a construction company.

We did a remodel with Bay Area Design and Construction and were so pleased with the work they did and the service they provided! From the start, Payman and his team were extremely organized, giving us all the information and guidance we needed on preparing and sourcing the finished materials. Once we got started, the team worked quickly and efficiently and kept things on track. We had a very strict deadline to be back in the house, and the team worked with us to ensure that it was met on time. The weekly meetings with the team to walk through changes that week, next steps, and any questions we had were so valuable and appreciated - it made us feel like we were in the loop at every step of the way! We were thrilled with how the work came out - very high quality. All of the specialists they brought in were top notch and great to work with. We will absolutely be coming back to Bay Area Design and Construction for our future projects!

We did a 2nd floor addition project with Bay Area Design and Construction, and had a great experience working with them. Payman and team and very efficient, communicate all requirement will in advance, deliver on time and are always available for any communication. Couldn’t recommend them highly enough.

We worked with Payman for a kitchen and bath remodel during the pandemic -- early 2021. He completed ahead of schedule and on budget. Besides Sundays, there were maybe only 2 days over 8 weeks where no one was working, and that was because of waiting for an inspection. Impressive!

After months of exploring, discussing and reviewing various companies, we selected Payman as the contractor for our home remodel project. We were adding 50% more area to our existing home with new bed/bath/family rooms, upgrading an existing bathroom, removing a brick fireplace and a few other smaller things. Since week 3 of our 20 week project, we have been referring him to any friend who was looking for a contractor. Here are the things we would like to highlight for what we got (and judging by so many reviews online, what you will get too): Integrity: Payman walked the talk every step of the way that got us comfortable that he is doing the right thing by us, and in the right way. One example: We had inadvertently given an extra weekly payment check to him. It may have probably been months, if at all, for us to have noticed it. However, Payman proactively reached out to us and cleared this up with us. Project Timeliness: Our project was happening in the middle of the pandemic with all the supply chain challenges. Windows needing 4 months, and a door with 6 months lead time are just a couple of examples. Payman’s anticipation of the challenges and pushing us - for example - to order the doors and windows on Day 1 after we got the city permits - was much needed (If he tells you to get something by a date, please do it; else, you will be the one gating your project; not him!). Payman plans and sequences the work of his various teams very efficiently. He got us so used to having someone at work in our house that the few days where it was silent felt very odd even it was to wait for city inspectors, or materials to arrive etc We moved into our home within 1 week of the committed time; and even that delay was not because of Payman, but because of delays in our finished materials coming in etc Communication: Payman is super responsive to communication via email, text and in person. We cannot recollect any big or small situations where he did not get back to us within a day. The weekly in-person meetings really do work well. If you are well prepared with your list of things to discuss, it will help you (he will always come with his list and be prepared). Costs: Overall - as Payman himself will tell you - he is not the cheapest contractor but he is also not on the high side of costs. After reviewing a few quotes, we felt his quote stayed true to what he said. ‘Change orders are where contractors make their profits’ - this is what we had heard time and again from many people. Over the course of all the change orders that needed to be completed, we found Payman’s quotes to be consistently fair and reasonable. All of the above would mean nothing if the quality of work was not good quality. And this is an area where Payman’s team really excels in delivering very high-quality work.

We cannot thank Payman and his team at Bay Area Design & Construction enough for an outstanding remodel job on our house. His team brought our dreams to reality. He took a Cape Code style home and transformed it into a beautiful transitional/modern home. We are so happy with the remodel. Payman is trust worthy and fair with his quotes. During our remodel process Payman and his team established weekly meetings to help us understand progress and next steps. This really helped us plan and procure materials during the 2021 supply chain issues. Our remodel included expanding and remodeling of our kitchen, adding a new bathroom, remodeling an existing bathroom, new floors, new staircase, trims, doors and windows. He also completed our remodel well before the expected date. Can't thank Payman and his team enough.

Payman and his team did an amazing job for our whole home renovation and addition. He and his team worked very closely with us on every detail from design, project planning, building, materials and finishes. They were always very responsive and maintained open lines of communication to ensure we were happy with each decision and step of the project. The main strength of him and his team was their ability to stay on-schedule and complete the project when promised. Just make sure you are able to decide on your materials/finishes when necessary so you don't become the gating item on the project schedule! :) Highly recommend Payman and his team for home renovation projects.

We used Payman (owner of Bay Area Design) for a large house remodel and extension in the middle of the pandemic in 2021. Payman impressed us from the start because he gave us so much details and information to think about in our very first meeting and he was extremely knowledgable about the city codes, what would work and what makes sense etc. Our interactions with him was excellent at each stage of the project from planning to execution. Our end product is better than we imagined. Payman was great also in advising us on what additions make sense and what might not really be good bang for our bucks. I personally appreciated this a lot because it meant that he was watching out for our interests (he would have made more money just saying yes to all the extras we wanted!). The project was completed on time, which is a miracle even under normal circumstances, let alone a pandemic with supply chain issues and it was not way over budget (except for add ons that we wanted). He has a different crew for different stages of the project so you will never see your house quiet or dull. There is a plan for each day and the crew are hardworking, friendly and patient. Payman continues to keep in touch with us to ensure that we are happy and has sent his crew to fix a few small issues that came up as well. Overall, a great experience. So glad we went with him.

We used Bay Area Design & Construction for a bathroom remodel and were absolutely thrilled with the results. We were referred to them by a friend, who had a great remodeling experience as well. This was our first remodeling experience, so we were apprehensive. Payman and his team walked us through the project and answered our many questions informatively and patiently. We had obtained three quotes before choosing their company; not only did theirs end up being the lowest, but they also seemed the most experienced. They were easy to communicate and work with, and came in on time and within budget (with the exception of upgrades that we chose for ourselves). They stand behind their work and can give you some creative ideas. Bring your own design or work with their preferred supplies to create your vision. We hired Bay Area Design to do a complete interior gut and remodel for my parents' home. Payman and his team are pleasant to work with it and take the time to understand the customer's point of view. More importantly they work with you to offer solutions when at a crossroad. The team also makes every effort to stay within the timeline of the project. His team shows up on time and are easy to communicate with. Because of the ease in working with Bay Area Design, we hired them for a second project that involved our home. This project included sanding-painting kitchen cabinets, fireplace and staircase, painting walls and installation of wood floors. We definitely recommend Bay Area Design & Construction.

Payman has completed a handful of projects on various properties for us, mostly kitchen and bathroom remodels. He and his team do a great job and are easy to work with. Payman is very responsive-answers texts and calls quickly, always on time to meetings. Every project has finished ahead of schedule and on budget! When problems arise as they do in construction, he stays calm and says "no problem" and it is no problem for the homeowner. Payman handles everything on his end so that the homeowner doesn't have to worry about anything. He does a weekly walk through and his focus in on making sure I'm happy with the progress and that things are going smoothly. He has a great attitude and genuinely wants to know if there are any areas that his team could improve on. Salvador is much more that a carpenter, has been with the company for 15+ years and can seemingly do anything. His work is impressive and he tends to the smallest detail to make sure the homeowner is happy. Emanuel does fantastic tile work and is so focused that I never see him take a break. Jesus, the young man that did the painting was also very conscientious. On our most recent project, I let him know that he didn't have to paint the bathroom door as we were planning on replacing all the interior doors at some point. It looked terrible so he painted it anyway and did a beautiful job. I'm so happy he did because it looks so good that I can take my time replacing it. Allan, the newest addition to the office, is responsive and focused on continually improving their service and keeping the customer happy. When your focus is on doing quality work and making sure the homeowner is happy, everything else seems to fall into place.
