Julia and the BID team helped us transform our historic house into a modern home while preserving the original architectural elements. This was very important to us, and Julia supported us 100% in this effort. At the same time, she encouraged us to make a few key changes that went miles to modernize our space, while staying true to the original design. We could not have been more pleased with the result. Julia has a knack for mixing quirky vintage finds with more modern pieces, and also has a fun but practical approach to décor…We have young kids, and as a mother who raised three children herself, Julia provided options that paired quality construction with beautiful, but kid-friendly fabrics and materials that will help keep our family home looking gorgeous for years.

We have only the highest praise for Julia and her team! From the moment Julia took over our Newport Beach, CA home remodel, we felt we were in good hands with her sophisticated, fun, functional and energetic Modernique style. Julia and her team demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and follow-through every step of the way. And most importantly, she took the time to truly understand our lifestyle to create a design plan that best met our daily use of each space. We've now used Julia on two different remodeling projects in our home over the last two years. We frequently get compliments on our interior design and Julia's personally designed pieces (from Global Views) that are incorporated throughout our home. I can honestly say that we would not nearly enjoy our home as much as we do if it were not for Buckingham Interiors + Design!

Working with Julia and her team to finish my dream house was a pleasure. Julia adds fun and joy to what could otherwise be an overwhelming project. She has a fabulous eye for color and selects the dreamiest fabric choices. We spent three months developing plans and selecting furniture and fabrics, as well as wall coverings, and then another six months watching it materialize into the finished product. The impact she had on my house was incomparable. Her ability to read a client's style and infuse a project with that interpretation is masterful. I'm so happy I chose Julia to bring my dream to life.

We purchased our Streeterville (Downtown Chicago) apt. in December 2016. We loved the interior design so much that we decided to purchase the apt. with furnishings included. Of course, we wanted to tweak the interior to make it our own. We met with Buckingham Interiors to go over options. It was the big day, Buckingham arrived, we enjoyed a day in our new city. We returned, just like HGTV, to a gorgeous renewed apt. with new artwork , accessories and rugs. Artwork was one of kind done by local Chicago artists and accessories were unique vintage pieces. The project was so spot on that we kept everything. Phase II was window treatments. Our apt. is a place that we can enjoy for years to come. It was truly a pleasure to work with Julia and her staff.

Julia and her company have been my designers for every home I have lived in Chicago. I have had 2 houses in Kenilworth, 1 house in Northfield and 2 condos in Evanston. Julia and all her workers are professional, creative and trustworthy. Julia can transform any space into whatever vision or dream in mind. She is amazing! Julia has the ability to know what style fits a family but she also can open client's minds to trying something unique. It is the perfect balance. I will never use anyone other than Buckingham Interiors.

The first time I talked to Julia, she sounded great. I clearly mentioned my budget and timelines. After working together over six weeks: -The proposals were way over budget. -Poor project management/ extremely slow progress. -Lack of communication. The only time she contacted me first was for the money. -Promised dates were rarely met. -Lack of professionalism. -Lack of transparency. She first mentioned that I'd pay the contractors directly, then a few weeks later, she was asking me to pay her directly. I never felt like she cared about my project. When I asked to refund the remaining of the retainer, she said she used it all and that she would send the report in the next week or two. It's been almost five weeks now and I haven't heard back. Having a clear set of hourly rate, I have no idea how she ended using up the exact amount of the retainer. I wasted so much money, time, and energy. All she did for me was to pick the paint colors for the house. Nothing else.

We hired Julia when we moved to Chicago in 2010. We had the pleasure of working with her and her team at Buckingham Interiors as we completely remodeled our kitchen, bathrooms and stairs in addition to furnishing the entire home. Julia was able to match our quirky mid-century modern + traditional style to a tee. The project was completed in 2011, but her design aesthetic and fun spirit continue to fill our home with joy as we look around at all that she helped us accomplish.

We hired Julia Edelman when we moved from our home in Wilmette to our condominium in Chicago. We have worked with Julia for the past 2.5 years and are thrilled with the results. We needed to redecortae our entire home and Juia was terrific in providing us with wonderful ideas about how to create an elegant but distinctive home. She was great with advising us about scale, something that is always an issue when you downsize. Julia has a terrific eye and is always finding uniqute items that are sophisticated, distinctive but not trendy. Moreover she is a delight to work with, as is her team. Julia Buckingham is the definition of fine interior design. She meets with you and asks you key questions as to what you are looking to do with each room. Function, style, durablility.... Most importantly she listens to you and keys in to your likes and dislikes. She takes you to the edge though which is necessary to get a fresh look and feel. She works within your budget. Julia's has tranformed our home into a beautiful, timeless, functional and lively retreat. I enjoy spending time in my house just feeling it all. I receive endless praise for the decorating! Julia is the best!!!!
