My wife and i met with Nathanael for our new house. Nathanael was extremely thorough and offered great suggestions. We went through the plans of the whole house. We are now living in it and we couldnt be happier with the result. Building a house is stressful. Out of all the meetings we had with contractors, subcontractors, architects etc.....this was probably the most helpful and beneficial. Thank you Nathanael!!!!!

My husband and I met with Nathanael do a lighting consultation on a second story addition to our home. The addition includes a dining area, living room, powder room and butlers pantry plus a stairway to the addition. He asked us a variety of questions and gave thoughtful consideration to each area, including how we would use the space and special features that we would like to highlight. We would have to say the consultation fee was worth every penny and more. We left Nathanael’s office with a detailed lighting plan and are excited to implement all his ideas. Good lighting is so important in creating ambience in a home, we could have never designed the lighting ourselves, definitely worth the investment in our remodel project.

Nathanael created a beautiful lighting plan for a residential expansion project I'm working on. The current home is very dark with low-slung ceilings, and Nathanael's vision for creating a more balanced lighting plan will make all the difference in the design. What a great and amazing experience. Nathanael was awesome to work with. He came by and spent a little time talking to us about how we want the house to feel and how we use our lights, what we liked in the past and what we think we want in the our new addition. After a short consultation, he gave us all the ideas he had for the space which we could easily pass on to our contractor for install. It turned out great and we couldn't be happier.

I recently redid my living/dining room, but still needed a consultation regarding overhead lighting for my dining room table. Nathanael was very helpful in providing phone consultation. We discussed a wide variety of options, ranging in price, and the pros and cons of both. I appreciated this as it is a small project, and I had difficulty finding someone who was willing to do this size of project. I would highly recommend Nathanael for anyone needing lighting design help with their home decoration projects. I am so glad I used him, and can't wait to see the final result.

Nathanael has helped several of my remodel/custom home clients with their lighting design. He's also helped me design the lighting for my own home remodel. In each case, he has helped us save money (including covering the cost of his services, which are very reasonable). What I've noticed in working with Nathanael, is that he really knows lighting... and can be super efficient with it. He understands what crazy little things called "lumens" are and he know how to use them. Yep, and he knows the color variance between the different types of lighting and how the different type of lighting products will project light. He applies his knowledge so that when the space is finished... it feels like it should in the space. Each room turns out, just right. He doesn't over light the space, spending more than is necessary, and increasing the long term operating costs, and he doesn't let something be under-lit and uninspired. If you're asking whether or not a lighting designer is worth it, I'll say in my experience, its a resounding yes. He's worth every penny.

We worked with Nathanael on lighting for our kitchen remodel. He was professional, thoughtful, and full of ideas we hadn't thought of. We really did learn a lot about both natural and designed lighting, and our finished space is really great, transformed from a cramped, dark 1920's kitchen to an open and welcoming family space. We were introduced to Lighting Designer, Nathanael Washam, by our general contractor. At first, we were not convinced that we needed a designer, but after meeting Nathanael and hearing his ideas for lighting our home, we realized that designing the lighting is not something we could do ourselves. Nathanael was good at figuring out our lighting needs based on how we would use individual rooms and he drew a detailed lighting diagram that was invaluable to our electrician. Throughout the process, Nathanael was courteous and friendly. We are very happy with the results and would recommend his services to anyone building or remodeling.
