Chandra Stone, Interior Design

Chandra Stone graduated from Florida State University, Magna Cum Laude. Chandra established her design consulting firm in 1983 and has been involved in numerous corporate and residential projects over the span of her career. Her previous experience as Director of Design at Clegg/Houston and Project Designer at 3D/International prepared her to assume the responsibility of the management and operation of all aspects of a comprehensive design practice. Chandra is registered as an Interior Designer by the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (Registration No. 5910), certified by the National Counsel for Interior Design Qualification and an affiliate member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute. Chandra served as a member of the faculty of the Art Institute of Houston from 1983 to 1999, the University of Houston, Continuing Education Department, from 1990 to 1999 and Rice Continuing Studies in 2003. Her involvement in the academic field led her to establish a sister company, Comprehensive Design Studies, to promote design education. In 1992, she was awarded the ASID Educational Foundation – Wool Bureau Natural Fibers Fellowship. The following year, she wrote and produced an educational design video entitled Textiles: The Four Great Natural Fibers, which was her winning concept for the fellowship competition. Since 1996, her office has been located at the Decorative Center of Houston. In 2004, Chandra participated in a fundraiser for The Sunshine Kids, “Rise and Shine for the Sunshine Kids.”
